The High Court has found Rosmah Mansor guilty of corruption in relation to the hybrid solar project for Sarawak schools. Imagine how many schools and schoolchildren could have benefited from the funds.

With the Federal Court’s decision today to uphold the High Court guilty verdict after a four-year emotional roller coaster, some ghosts have been finally laid to rest.

As I write this, immediately after the verdict was announced, a light shower is falling where I am in Penang, as if cleansing the nation.

It looks like the general election will be held sooner rather than later, given that Umno has inexplicably been allowed to delay its elections beyond the existing three-plus-one-and-a-half-years extension earlier granted.

But this could be a poisoned chalice as the factional infighting within the party drag the party down if not lead to full-blown implosion. Let’s see how this plays out.
