Zunar has been asked to report at the Dang Wangi Police Station on 20 November at 3.00pm for investigation under Section 4 (1) (c) of the Sedition Act.
The clause refers to anyone who “prints, publishes, sells, offers for sale, distributes or reproduces any seditious publication”.
When contacted, Zunar said he believes the investigation centres on either of two cartoon books – Pirates of the Carry-BN or Komplot Penjarakan Anwar (Conspiracy to Imprison Anwar) – as these publications were recently seized from his assistants.
On 9 October, the Court of Appeal had lifted the ban on 1 Funny Malaysia and Perak Darul Kartun.
Zunar said the judges had gone through his book almost page by page with the prosecutor and found that they were just satire.
But four of his other books – Gedung Kartun, Isu Dalam Kartun Vol 1, Isu Dalam Kartun Vol 2 and Isu Dalam Kartun Vol 3 – remain officially banned.
Another book, ‘Cartoon-O-Phobia’, is being investigated under the Sedition Act.
Najib should fulfil his pledge to repeal the Sedition Act.

Ganesh, Why should I pay for something that I am not interested at all. I glanced through the Malaysiakini section but I do not think its any laughing matter at all. In fact I think its just some cheapskate stuff like the Cheap Minister that always play the blame game.
Guys, i think we have to collect zunar’s cartoons to show support. I will go to times bookstore this weekend to have a set.
Somehow big bookstores like MPH do not sell Zunar’s book, to appease the Authority?

Anil : Who own MPH is immaterial. The book has been banned and MPH just do not want to flout the law. It seem you and opposition are condoning breaking of the law like breaking the gate of UM and barging in.

His comedy is not centered for the general public but centered or to influence and tilt the people `s mind politically to a certain party. This is definitely not correct as comedy is for the people to enjoy without any political motivation and influence.
Zunar is just expressing his opinion by the way he knows best not unlike us commenters who use words and sentences; at times making references or stressing a point by using nicknames.
