In a bid to counter the negative vibes generated by the forcible removal of a cross from the Beacon of Hope Church in Taman Medan by a group of 50 protesters last week, a group of well-wishers today distributed flowers to representatives of the church and people of various faiths in the vicinity.
The church, however, has not yet restored the cross to its original position on the building, the pastor saying they were waiting for “the Lord to direct us on what to do”.
While the group’s action today is commendable, it is a pity that the relative authorities have not taken more decisive action to immediately restore the cross to its rightful position on the church building. It sends a wrong message about mob rule.
