Mujahid responds to Jais’ raid on Bible Society of Malaysia

Parit Buntar MP Mujahid Yusof Rawa has responded to the raid on the Bible Society of Malaysia yesterday by the Selangor Islamic Religious Department (Jais) yesterday.

Jais seized 321 Bibles in Malay and 10 in Iban. BSM manager Lee Min Choon and manager Sinclair Wong were arrested and taken to the police station, but released on bail two hours later.

The Jais raid on the premises of a bible society sets a worrying precedent.

This is Mujahid’s statement in full:

Sekian

Yb Dato’Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa
Ahli Parlimen Malaysia

If they can tell you to stop using the word “Allah”, they can raid Churches, your home…THAT IS THE LAW ACCORDING TO THEM

Kumaran

The Non-Islamic Religions (Control of Propagation among Muslims) Enactment 1988 in Selangor should not apply to Christians using “Allah” as well as “firman”, “rasul”, “nabi” and “wahyu” in their Malay Bibles since Article 11(3) of the Federal Constitution protects the rights of each religious group to manage its own affairs.

Rich Daddy

The ROGUE coalition this time will dead politically. Not even learn to be good a guy good after cow head incident. Strategically, PR should minimize its usual URGE to score political points from this issue as people themselves can see who is the red devil (Man U fans I’m not talking about your FC club, ok!). PR this time should argue at policy level (e.g. to stress the guarantee for religions freedom for the Malays and Christians if they form federal gomen) and with single voice. Not PAS support and DAP object. Let people see PR is really a viable… Read more »

Nowadays almost every leaders, authorities and state govt from both sides are talking and taking action not within the ambit of the law but as they wish without any feeling for the people or following the rule of law

And if you complain or is not satisfied, OK sue us and that`s the answer you will get.

OWC

Jais or Jakim does not need any warrant to raid your premises or your home?

MCA, what say you?

Rich Daddy

Let’s discuss strategically. Deep thinking is required. @OWC, why give the losers the chance for publicity ??? MCA and Gerakan already dead politically, are you stupid or what trying to give air time to the dead ??? You wish them resurrect kah ??? @OWC, And be careful when criticizing the agencies related to religion. Rural folks think they are related to their religion and if you criticize the agencies they may think their religion are under attack and may turn to rogue coalition for SHELTER and thus the rogue coalition will gain their votes during election. Do you get it,… Read more »

And it will be shaky for LGE next GE in Penang. Jardip & Raiya can forget about Datuk Keramat. Datuk Keramat is mixed with 66%/40% composition. I will make sure they go down

Wait wait wait, everybody seem to blame the federal govt. Is it not the state authority of Selangor, JAIS that is over stepping the boundary. Please speak up Anwar, Khalid, Lim Guan Eng, Karpal, LKS, Hadi, from PKR, PAS & DAP.

OWC

Jais is getting powerful, sign of Talibanisation?

Stylo Logan

Just learnt that Putrajaya is an Islamic city that cannot have Hard Rock Cafe.
A true sign of Islamisation.
Maybe (some politician) already got lesen to operate a nasyid cafe or keroncong cafe there?

I am deeply disappointed with our leaders who are still dumbfounded even though an inflammable issue is reported across all media headlines. Is it their intention to deflect the pressing issues of price hikes? If so, then they are as irresponsible as those JAIS officers that raided the Selangor Bible Society which clearly has no authority to trespass lest step onto other religious premises without a search warrant.
