Will winds of change blow over early voters?

63
1372

Today is early voting day for police, military personnel and their spouses.

And the big question now is, do these voters feel free to vote according to their conscience – especially after certain chiefs and veterans groups came out to say military personnel should feel free to exercise their right to vote according to their preference.

A polling agent from PKR told me the atmosphere at the TUDM polling centre in Teluk Air Tawar in Butterworth, where there are some 2,500 early voters, seemed relaxed and free of any undue influence. Senior officers cast their votes and left the centre soon after, he said.

Will the winds of change sweeping over the nation affect the early votes? Given the trend in previous elections when such votes went overwhelmingly to BN, if PH can get anything over a third of these votes, it would be a big plus in its favour.

The number of complaints that ranges from disqualifying candidates right up to removal of oppositions flags is unbelievable. Didn’t Najib promise a clean and fair election. One can catalogue them into a book for any future references. These are so unnecessary, as it’s hard to see how Najib could lose despite the huge turnouts at campaigns throughout the country. Tun Mahathir confidence is naturally positive, rightly so. Let’s hope he is right.

It’s an evil propaganda machine run by Tony Pua and Yeo Bee Yin according to a DAP member himself Amran Ahmad to demonize BN. And you called yourself “Clever Voter”? What a shame. To top it off, you guys supported a 93 years old man who supposedly the source of Malaysia’s problem in the past? Stupidity has no limit for DAP zombies.

“Umno-BN is playing up racial sentiment, as it is unable to respond to the 1MDB and Felda scandals, as well as the people suffering due to the spike in prices of goods due to the introduction of the GST,” Anwar Ibrahim said.

Anwar stated that the people will decide the outcome of the general election, and that no money or tycoon, nor slander and propaganda could change that.

“In 24 hours’ time, the country’s future and the fate of our people are in your hands.

“Vote wisely and responsibly,” he said.

If 1MDB is an epic proportion of an international crime, Najib would have gone down three years ago. Why that still hasn’t happen? 1MDB “scandal” broke wide open in 2015. That’s a very long time ago. Instead, he is now a PM-in-waiting (and will likely a PM for the next 5 years) while Public Account Committee (PAC) has completed their inquiry on 1MDB eons ago and came up with nothing against Najib. It’s a committee whose members made up of the likes of Tony Pua, Tan Seng Giaw (both DAP MPs), Takiyuddin Hassan (PAS MP), William Leong and Kamarul Baharin… Read more »

DAP is the Pied Piper of the Chinese voters. Whatever tune DAP plays, the Chinese will be totally hypnotized by it. Whatever Najib says is useless. It’s all about ending UMNO rule in Malaysia but unfortunately it won’t happen anytime soon. DAP asked the Chinese to “charge ahead” knowingly it’s impossible to “Ubah” without PAS support. This is an irresponsible leadership from DAP. Bilahari Kausikan has criticized DAP two years ago for leading their followers astray. This was what he commented: “I am not against idealism,” he said today. “But even idealism if it is to take a political form… Read more »

Do not let BN win Penang even by accident – Guan Eng https://www.malaysiakini.com/news/423335 Lim urged voters to dismiss the murmurs going around that they should cast their votes for Pakatan Harapan candidates in the parliamentary seats and vote BN in the state seats. This follows BN candidates campaigning that voters should vote them into the state assembly to be the “checks and balances”. This is old strategy – the casting of votes for opposition in parliament seats, BN in state seats. Even during the days of Dr Lim Chong Eu, it never worked for Penang. Agreeable.
Maybe can lower the GST rate to say 3% or 4 % instead of the current 6%.
This way there is no need to pay BR1M at all.
Those who really need help can approach the Social Welfare Dept.
I have seen those who are on Social Welfare are also getting BR1M.
Plus the same person is also getting money from an NGO.
What is this? No need to work and live on welfare and goodwill?
Therefore, the next federal goverment must be firm on this.
