Thousands of Pas supporters flocked to the Butterworth town field last night for another Pas ‘Perhimpunan Hijau ke Putrajaya’ gathering.
Said a Pas supporter reflected of the gathering: “Well, last night’s feature was stunning. Pas supporters thronged the arena in great numbers.” He estimated the turnout at more than 10000.
“It’s a sign of determination and perseverance,” he added.
Nik Aziz relayed a ‘live’ message from his office in Kota Darul Naim, Kelantan. “Our party has to display its comprehensive strength to its political foes so that those with financial and media power will tremble in the face of our political machinery.”
A big screen at the padang projected an image of Pas president Hadi Awang speaking from Dubai, where he was in transit on his way back from Egypt.
The gathering in Butterworth coincided with the triumph of Mohammed Morsi, the Muslim Brotherhood candidate in the Egyptian presidential elections.
