Mahiaddin, what goes around comes around…

Remember how Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s letter contributed to Tunku Abdul Rahman’s downfall as Prime Minister in 1970?

And then 50 years on, in 2020, it was Mahiaddin Yasin turn to do a number on Mahathir after the Sheraton Move, as he outmanoeuvred the latter to take the top job. In the process, he betrayed all those who had voted for change.

Remember too how Mahiaddin himself hastened Abdullah Badawi’s departure in 2009? See how Abdullah forgave him in the video above.

This time, it is Umno pulling the rug from under Mahiaddin’s feet and all the rest of the backdoor entrants. How does that feel?

Poetic justice. What goes around comes around. This government’s days are numbered. We could have a new leader before long.

All this reminds us that power, though enticing, is often fleeting. Make the best use of the time to work for the people while you have the chance.

It is time to let Parliament decide who should lead the country once and for all. Convene Parliament and let MPs take a vote.

Whoever takes over, if it comes to that, must be a person of integrity and must have solid progressive policies to uplift and empower the people, while upholding their basic human rights and parliamentary democracy.

Mdam Kee initiated Japanese Bon Odori festival to Penang now an annual affair.

Present Penang Tourism chief YB Yeoh Soon Hin can collaborate with Big 5 Developers Ideal, Ivory, SPSetia, Hunza and BSG to bring in Brazilian Samba Festival to Penang from 2022? Penangites can boogie to the tune of Lambada!!!!

shriek

Mao’s time gang of 5 – A***, Tunlan, Teh susu, W***** and PF will oppose. Why calling in Developers nd seek their help? Why Pengland Kias self sacrifice? Can cari best makan and drive 4WD, cannot contribute?

PCH

In the days of Keramat Roar, there was hardly any monetary incentives then. The players used to order boots from local cobblers such as Chip Bee in Chulia Street.

Tday, young players have branded boots costing RM300 or more and strut around as if they are Barcelona or Real Madrid stars.

Football standards today have gone downhill despite turning professional.
Can Penang ever hope to scale the lofty heights of yesteryear?

84 years old Wyatt should be able to recall the glory days of Penang?

Wyatt

Sorry PCH, but Wyatt was never a big fan of the local football
scene nor the international football league, then and now. At
most if were to watch, its the world cup, from semi finals to
finals – live telecast.

shriek

Prefers to think about glories day Gilakan under UMNO in Pengland just like 70s footy

Currencies that have appreciated against the Malaysian ringgit over the past 10 years:

Taiwan dollar – 45%
US dollar – 41%
Chinese yuan – 41%
South Korean won – 33%
Vietnam dong – 28%
Singapore dollar – 27% (over 30 years, the appreciation is 186%)
Thai baht – 20%
Philippine peso – 19%
EU euro – 18%

This is a reflection of the direction our country is taking. The same political party that thrived on corruption, poor governance and racial and religious bigotry wants to regain power. Indeed, a frightful and dreadful situation.

About 20% of households in the M40 group have moved down to the B40 category and the Perikatan Nasional-led (PN) government must take the blame for this, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said today.

Citing the “economic ruin” revealed in the latest Household Income Estimates and Incidence of Poverty 2020 Report by the Statistics Department, the former finance minister said it was all due to the government’s failed policies in battling the Covid-19 pandemic.

After US and western allies decided to pull out from Afghan, Afghan will fall as second largest city has fallen after stationed there for 20 years. It is just like Vietnam. Why US went there in the first place and many of its soldiers died for nothing. One of them is a famous footballer KIA. Went there to save Afghans, Vietnam and SE Asia? US conned Asia saying if Vietnam fall, the rest of SE Asia will fall and become Communist under its DOMINO theory. Why Tunlan spin on this?

shriek

after 60 years of dumno and pas, colour, believing and rights, what can one expect? Why not you go and put a bandage and see if it can gostan?

Last time local footballers not professionals, not paid well compared to today’s Liga Super players. But none of the present local players can match the abilities of the former players you mentioned.

Today sports is all about money. Look at the RM300K racing bike customer-made for Azizul, but can he win Gold at Tokyo Olympic to justify the outlay?

shriek

Now depends on Tech No logy to go faster, higher and further. Use carbon track shoes to sprint faster and sport shoes to jump higher

Olympic now have BMX events.
Malaysia’s Mat Lajak could potentially be trained as Olympic medal winner in BMX, since Keirin bicycle is too expensive.

Why not talk about the Pengland Kias Tan Brothers who won the All England’s Cup instead of those out of mind and state?

PCH

In 1974 Penang Football heroically knocked Singapore out in the semifinal to face northern rival Perak in the final.

Namat Abdullah led Penang to a 2-1 victory in what was to be the state’s last Malaysia Cup final victory.

The Penang line-up was Desmond David in goal, Namat Abdullah, Ooi Hock Kheng, Shukor Salleh, Nik Hassan, T. Gopal Krishnan, Ali Bakar, Isa Bakar, Mohamad Bakar, Shaharudin Abdullah and Khalil Hashim.

We should honour those Legends.

shriek

Yet one raised up in Pengland heritage wong fei hoong shophouse welcome and praise outsiders for the honour and neglect pengland kias made in Pengland

Penang Street Food is going to meet the end of the road?

Please support Hock Chai’s food channel, esp those from far abroad who wants to reminisce the ori Pengland food. Man literally make an effort to “dabao” everyday to support local hawker/kopidiam and also for his YT content, win-win.

PCH

Yes YB Yeoh of Penang Tourism can rope in Hock Chai as the brand face of Penang authentic food.
Hock Chai himself a good chef.
He has frequented all corners of Penang to bring live action of Penang food sifus.
AnilNetto.com should already under Penang Gomen radar so CM Chow should listen to the voices of the public propagated in this sustainable blog.

luca

Tunglang can collaborate with Hock Chai to provide commentary to the otherwise vical-less videos.

shriek

Tunlan prefers to hide himself, worse than ar moi, puying, or tangkerchee or NGOs

PCH

The local food legends believe in feng sui and will never relocate to spoil their fortunes; unless they sell away their secret recipes.

Probably the Property Developers can smell the opprtunities to invest in street food developers when fake islands cannot materialse?

What say you Tunglang, Shriek, Luca and Wyatt?????

shriek

Another P brain. These are under Central and State. Try to spin again. Developer more floors so you can buy and move into a Condo. Why dont you go into hydroponic in multi story and china has done that in pig farming.

Wyatt is an old man. 84 years old. He is not computer savvy. Has no idea how to use links n stuff. Still learning how to use the PC. Uses two fingers to tap the PC keys. For some reason, Anil’s comment column cannot accept more than a certain number of words. So, under the circumstances Wyatt does the best he can. If this makes you want to laugh and gives you some happiness then go ahead be happy and laugh.

Not many Menons’ live up here. Use to know a Menon family way back in the early seventies, living near the RAAF base as it was called back then. Maybe you must be related.

1000 letters- all kbkb or all on best street food? There are more pressing matters but people are diverted and focus on petty matters, Many are without jobs, income, food or just collapse on the streets. Why these are happening and getting worse? Some can afford private hospital but many are turn away or house in car parks,

shriek

You grumpy old man and with all the wrong nonsense. My shriek to wake you up. Old man – 20k are affected with Covid. Happy with thousands have to leave us and millions are without jobs, food and have to raise white flags. Yet old man and Anil go and talk about footy in the 70s when millions are suffering and Teh Susu said Gomen can do better in increasing in rakyat suffering dying in street and burial rates shooting into the sky.

shriek

Over 20k cases and hundreds of death, unemployment and how many lockdowns and this since June, many are raising white flags, these are positive news to you. Of course you live in a Condo built by developer but condemning them and gomen. Why dont help small business or rent instead of helping developrs?
