In my opinion, the present PR government of Penang is doing pretty OK. At least there is transparency in dealing with the most valuable commodity this state still has, albeit very little these days which is called LAND. I mentioned this before that the old BN government had set such a low standard for fiscal accountability that any government with an intention to serve the rakyat honestly and incorruptibly will be able to do far better. If we can extend this to Putra Jaya, imagine the billions that can be saved since the fiscal budget of Putra Jaya is more… Read more »

One more thing my dear K

You mention the “sodomite” stuff coming from the Singaporeans. Now what about those concerning the case of “that Mongolian woman”?

My dear K So, following your claims to their logical conclusion, if the Chief Minister of Penang is surrounded by “incompetents and sycophants”, then his regime will not be able to remain in power after the next state election. So, why are you getting into a frenzy with your denunciations of him? Or do you have a problem with a more efficient administration (“cheap” to you) in Penang that is a bane to UMNO/BN rent-seekers? So what if the Opposition Leader in Parliament is an alleged “Sodomite”? Scientists believe that there is a genetic basis to sexual preference and that… Read more »

Dear K

You can resort to childish name-calling if you like.
A reflection of your inability to engage in proper intellectual debate?

By the way, as a student of political science,
I am aware that many ordinary people vote AGAINST
corrupt ruling regimes and not FOR the alternative nipping on the heels of the corrupt ruling regime.

Oh, BTW, one of my former political science students is a high level advisor to the “Cheap Minister” of Penang. And I am very proud that I taught this person in the past!

Dr Phua Chu Kang I will be insulted if my students went on to be a “high level advisor” to the Cheap Minister. For he only surrounds himself with incompetents and sycopants. As I had said, your tiresome mantra of voting for Pakatan by default by voting against BN won’t work for the 2nd time. I think people would rather vote for KITA or the 3rd Force than the morally and materially corrupted and racist Pakatan. No way Malaysians would allowed themselves to be led by an alleged sodomite (whom the SG intelligence (purportedly) has proof against). Imagine if Pakatan… Read more »

When the entrenched incumbents are immune and inert to their corrupt and racist ways, I cannot imagine why any sane person would still call the rakyat to return such a regime.

An alternative government may never be perfect but at least there is hope.
Let the opportunity and right to rule rotate between the 2 principal parties.
With this, the leaders can be made accountable for what they greedily pocket.

Dear old buddy Dr Phua Chu Kang… I think you are again mixing me with Gerakan K. It does make sense that Mariam (not Miriam)makes sense to you. Your track records here and elsewhere shows that you have a penchant for believing some of the most ridiculous and nonsensial arguments put forward by some of the less intelligent political commentators, as long as it agrees with your political thoughts. I bet that you agreed with Wan Azizah when she declared Anwar as a god’s gift to Malaysia right ? MM, of course, is the usual BN-basher and Pakatan lover and… Read more »

“I think you are again mixing me with Gerakan K.”

Perhaps Gerakan K will do you a favour and drop the K, though you must admit, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Besides, both of you display such indistinguishable traits. So, do forgive those who genuinely can’t tell you apart.

“…one of the Chief Propaganda Officer for Pakatan”. Isn’t there only one Chief?

If she is a Pakatan lover, does that make you a BN lover? It doesn’t have quite the same ring as the original N word lover, if that’s what you’re trying to convey.

Cheers.

Thanks for the clarification, Anil.

So you see, with some people, you don’t have to prove the point you’re making. They do it for you.

Just like Gerakan K, he accuses without basis. Perhaps in their twisted minds, they think that they come across as believable to others.

That’s probably why he answers nearly every comment posted.

Actually most of these promises are mere bribes and sweeteners and nothing substantial. Yes, ISA abolishment is a good move but do we seriously think this will be done if they win ? Surely on the basic of what we have seen, this won’t happen. Pakatan probably use it to lock up BN leaders if they come to power. What we expect are much more, let me list some below: 1. Abolishment of restrictive law like -Printing press act -UUCA -OSA -Police act 2. FOI act 3. Restoration of local council elections 4. Teaching of Science and Maths in English… Read more »

You are much smarter and far more balanced to fall for such jokes. The very fact that Karpal had the courage to bring up this sensitive issue, was the main political parties in the Alliance, PKR, DAP and PAS have come of age and matured with responsibility. He earned the respect, given a standing ovation from PAS members… spoke volume of the Alliance desire to compromise and live together like true Malaysians…this will augur well for the future generations… especially, respecting each other’ beliefs and race.

my dear K, dont worry so much. Once Pakatan comes into power our immediate aim is to bring the economy back up on track again. we want to make sure all the abuses of the previous government are immediately attended to. The first thing we will do is talk to people like Ambrin Buang, the Auditor General on how to implement his recommendations in Government. We at Pakatan are very sure if we win government people like the current AG will be migrating overseas immediately. I can guarantee you power to the courts and the judiciary will be returned. True change will never come under Najib’s constant shout of slogan and acronyms, with myth perpetuated by the mainstream media.

The ‘dacing’ of BN is an imbalanced one.

The real change is to vote them out.

What Uncle Karpal is saying is that we all agree that the State religion of Malaysia is Sunni Islam. We are all supporting this. This is guaranteed in our constitution. But because Malaysia has a large non-Muslim population then we must make sure there are guarantees and safe-guards in place for non-Muslims in Malaysia. In other words the religion a Malaysian follows is his personal matter. He cannot be discriminated against because of his religion or race like we have today by UMNO and Perkasa. Islam practiced in Malaysia is a very moderate and progressive form of Islam. Evan Muslims… Read more »

So Sewel…is this request by Karpal any different from what we have now ? So what he says is no to Talibanisation of Malaysia. So what’s LKS, LGE, Anwar and Nik Aziz say on this ?

DAP busy “bodek-ing” the Muslims with our own Cheap Minister modelling himself as a ‘caliph’. I wont be surprised if LKS and LGE agree to Afghanistanization of Malaysia as long as they get the positions they want and leave the non Muslims in lurch in exchange for power.

my dear K, dont be afraid of change. In Malaysia i think change of government will be good for all Malaysians. The rights of Muslims and non-Muslims is enshrined in our constitution. So dont worry. We need a change of government to put the May 13 ghost to rest. We need a change of government to let UMNO learn that it is just a political party and not above the law. Some of the dodgy deals done by UMNO will need to be accounted for if a Pakatan Government comes to power.

What we have seen since 308 is greater overall accountability. Gone are the days when you could do as you please. Never before has public sentiment been so important. I wonder why that is. Corruption. A word that has become so watered down everyone has forgotten that it is stealing. Yes, it exists everywhere but when something that was initially estimated to cost 1 billion ends up costing 4, can you seriously put it down to inflation? Politicians are public servants. With increased political competition, the public can only stand to gain. For people who love choices, it’s ironic that… Read more »
