Mat Sabu in his new ministerial role should encourage more jobless folks to turn to farming and grow new crops, as Singapore has shown us in this report:
https://www.channelnewsasia.com/singapore/singapore-farms-kelong-ice-plants-grape-seaweed-3081231
He is waiting for some allocation to get moving lah. So far that’s all he has mentioned about economics.
So you vote Tak Pas with spiritual $$$, things with moved spiritual allocation?
DSAI administration inherited one trillion ringgit of debt:
When Mat Sabu mentioned import of eggs to stabilise price, the local egg producers (cartel?) got panic! With competition we could achieve price equilibrium!
Mat Sabu as Agriculture and Food Security Minister in new Cabinet can visit Singapore to learn the modern farming methods in urban environment:
Part 1:
This is wasteful, and puts the cart before the horse. Do we need urban farming to a significant extent? First
(a) stop the poisonous agro-chemicals immediately
(b) help the genuine farmers with subsidies, loans, TOLs, etc.; remember the selective destruction of some unapproved farms and support for others in Pahang
(c) stop the cartels including indirect ines through licenses for import and export
Urban farming by urban poor – Earn extra money instead of indulging in Shopee and Lazada. A farmer is a farmer, no genuine or fake. Everybody can be a farmer, grow vegetables like Bendi in your backyard garden – no worry about cartel.
What you mean by wasteful? Urban folks cannot grow their own food? What agro-chemicals got to do with urban farming?
If you are so concerned with poisonous agro-chemicals, then you should grow your own vegetables. Don’t just simply trust organic farming food that costs more.
If you want to stop those cartel (you need to be specific else becoming false accusation) the more you should grow your own food instead of relying on imports.
Grow by all means but how much one can grow? Agro chemicals will wash down into longkangs, streams, rivers and finally the coast where all pha 888 or rakyat 888 support the fishermen. The fish in the coast will eat plants with agro chemicals. You also eat agro chemicals and cancer is a killer
Don’t any how imply fertilizers are poisonous agro-chemicals without any substantive proof.
Rural people can continue with their traditional farming. What’s wrong with encouraging urban folks to grow vegetables and make full use of otherwise unused rooftop? People can complain money no enough but never think of how to put resources to good use to generate more return?
In urban the soil is contaiminated with chemicals as it could be a motor bike or car workshop. Further pollutants from cars will fly into the small garden plot. You never learn from Dumno and Tak Pas with spiritual education
You go ahead and grow on top of head. Which building roof is designed for heavy load in the first place? Rural uses traditional method. You are also going to use dungs? You don’t know it attracts flies, pest and live with the smell? Talk easy
.
“Planting paddy on the roof-top?” That was the popular question among Kedahans when Tan Sri Sanusi Junid announced his idea to transform paddy farming in the state in the mid 1990s.
https://www.nst.com.my/amp/news/nation/2018/03/343377/sanusi-junid-man-unique-ideas
Present day Sanusi prefers to grow Ketum, a way to get high (not necessarily in income).
Half of water Penang kias drink is from sungai and they are polluted with dissolved chemicals to fatten oil palms, All the surface water are washed down into rivers. Penang kias still dreaming
Even if they are not real poison, when they are washed into Sg Muda where Penang kias get their kopi oh from, you don’t mind the “additive”?
glissantia needs to check this up:
https://youtube.com/watch?v=0v2JO064Prw&feature=youtu.be
Urban farming keeps homeless folks off the street in KL. Help them earn a living instead of begging on the street.
If they are homeless, where do they get the land to grow? Homeless without home but they have land. They are land lords
If you spend a few minutes watching the video you would not sound so stupid in your message.
If you read the message, you sound as illogical as him, Pic says a thousand words but why write something sounds illogical?
Very true. No wonder tunglang is passed off by the ignorant shriek making noise without basis.
… you employed homeless to carrying farming? Any NGOs or civil societies employ homeless? If not who is p…… off??
Part 2:
(d) check the personal wealth of enforcers; remember Cameron Highlands vegetables blocked at the height of the lockdown
(e) check the land grabs; state excos facilitate this[?].
Think out of the usual box – can grow vegetables in places other than Cameron Highlands – nearer to customer reduce carbon footprint in transportation.
think out of box. why water treatment plant and power generators not in the city to reduce foot prints?
Go Singapore by bus to learn from PAP, save money yet effective proven methods!
You don’t understand what glissantia is saying, do you ? We have plenty of land, Singapore don’t and are dependent on other countries for food security.
Maybe PH / DAP Penang could use your advise. Use existing land and water for industrial purposes ( must be no.1). Every small plots of land available, build Condos and for food security, they can take a bus and learn urban farming from your favorite country — Singapore.
So what if we have plenty of land if the productivity is low? Need to grow food near to consumers to reduce transportation cost and carbon footprint.
In Singapore, many modern day restaurants have their own garden to grow the fresh herbs like rosemary and green vegetables for salad. Lower cost and fresh produce.
al pha. Not plenty of land. See the water you drink are poisoned with pollution. factories and spray chemicals in plants went into the catchment. Many are chopped down for oil palms and durians. Malaya is heavity populated but East has low population.
All pha, you don’t understand. It is not crops but is WATER. Now Penang kias drink kopi but soon will be kopi or kau kau as in 10 years Penang has insufficient water.
Why take bus? Burn more petrol, more traffic jam. Get online education. One person can do the documentary and load up
No need loh…. let Kiasu do what they like to do. The scarcity of land they have no choice, furthermore, Singaporeans have no liking for mainland China’s vegetables – which are highly laced with insecticide. Hopefully, they can produce more with intensive farming, so less import of Malaysia Vege from Cameron and Yong Peng. Malaysians will then can consume fresh Vege at a bargain price. So, with the water supply. Their Newater should by now be the top choice. Kiasu PAP..nothing but greed.
Without Singapore customers, Cameron Highlands farmers cannot earn SingDollar, less profit means passing higher cost of operation to Malaysia consumers.
Better be kiasu to stay competitive. After more than 50 years of separation, Malaysians would rather be in Singapore’s position with strong currency. But there will always be Malaysians with sour grapes.
Are Singaporeans silly enough to give Malaysian vegetables farmers 1 Sing dollar to purchase vegetables worth one Malaysian Ringgit when the exchange rate is SGP3.00 plus? What earn Sing Dollar ?
Obviously you do not how these vegetable farmers operate. Singaporeans are charged premium price and the profits will offset the operating costs to the benefits of Malaysian consumers.
Go Cameron Highlands to find out, not just critisize without doing homework.
Why don’t you tells us, Jilat69 ? Give us some examples of vegetables being charged at premium prices for Singaporeans customers by our
Malaysian Farmers.
Would also like to see how the profits made are used to offset the operating costs to benefit our Malaysian consumers.
If you find this tedious to explain, just give us a few links.
Being a major trade centre, they get food from any part of the world at the quality (lack of poisons, etc.) they demand. With our occasional loss of quality and unilateral export bans, we have shown that we are an unreliable source.
Same with Penang kias. Greed, they cut forest reserves to grow durians for China market. They don’t want to sell to you or can you afford to buy made in Penang or Malaysia durians? Maybe you buy rejected or 3rd durians
Sing apor gomen has to support local agriculture just like Israel. They grow crops in the deserts with least water.
Sort of an early morning laugh and with a bunch of political bollocks, Sabu ah… now in the state of disillusion what is this Ministry all about???..pls help..help..help. as the like of PM 10 giving 10 days to all heads of Kementerian to come out with solution how to revitalize the nation’s state of affair. PH and the unity government are in limbo rock. “The Return of 22 months of Bollocking” so what to expect.
So long as Ringgit is low in value the cost of living will continue to go up. Now instant noodles like Maggi is rising in price again. Young people should be wise to venture into food production, motor industry is becoming a sunset industry once the China EVs, not Tesla, are coming.
That is why we have Rafizi as Minister for Economy and Mat Sabu as Minister for Agriculture and Food Security. Both have been given Deputies today. So far, no idea what they are going to do. Do you have any idea, Silverberg ?
Why you support them now? You not MCA and now no more in government. They are having agm under closed shop. so any idea what they are going to do?
Oil burning cars will be heritage. Will PF and other groups protest?
Good to see DAP is not clamouring for ministerial positions, so PN and pAs cannot anyhow accuse DAP. Anthony Lokevus definitely better than Wee ka Siong as transport minister!
Ha ha. DAP has proven to the malays that Chinese are not greedy for government positions, unlike those PN special envoys wasting our money.
Yes, they are not greedy as they now have 10 ministerial positions. We just have to wait and see if they can perform.
if they perform, you become converted or until the last second, still make chinese angry man?
Mr Loke’s decision not to dispute the least number of Ministerial posts allocated to DAP and his humility to apologise to Sarawak leaders is highly commendable. It is a great sacrifice, a bold gesture, that enables the PH Unity government to be firmly established as a strong multi-racial government with popular leaders representing all the ethnic groups. It is truly a rare multi-racial government that existed that deserved to be widely supported.
How long can sacrifice? Next election, Tak Pas still say the same thing and Rocket still sacrifice? No difference from MCA. The haves are getting more than 50% and not 30%
Well, something must have rattled the PM. He has given DAP six more deputy positions. That makes it total 10. DAP 40 win over 51. Maybe, some wrangling behind the scene.
” his humility to apologise to Sarawak leaders “, you think so, or was it for the sake of the ‘unity’ government without which PH may not become the government. Factor the timing of it.
Are you still sore that MCA is out of cabinet? Tell Wee Ka Siong nobody miss their absence but rejoice.
MCA may not be in the cabinet, they did not ask for it but they are still in the unity Government simply because of being a member of Barisan Nasional which your DAP has embraced and hugged so tightly, rubbing cheek n cheek even.
It is good to know that the shameless supporters are agreeable to it. For the next 5 years, these shameless, clueless supporters, it will be all about rejoicing hypocrisy. Cheers!
MCA can join Muafakat Nasional, which is an NGO of Umno rejects and Zuraisa hoping to make a comeback as a political party in GE16.
You must be one very very sore loser. Already said MCA being part of BN has become part of the Unity Govt. Why, insist on MCA to join this and that. Its a done deal. So, stop being a cry baby and talk on something else intelligent for once.
Now you are very proud MCA man. Your party win 200% outperforming all other parties.
Heard today that DAP has been given six deputies, among them one fellow who said before GE15 that BN was Kotor or Dirty. DAP has already got 4 full minister ship under its belt from earlier announcement. That’s, from not clamoring for ministerial positions to a total of 10.
To be fair DAP has won more parliamentary seats than PKR, Umno or Amanah. There are many capable people in DAP, so nothing wrong to appoint them as ministers to help our nation. We know the limitations of Ulama with only religious knowledge but no business acumen or knowledge of foreign affairs.
Whatever it is Gerakan is the biggest loser as Dominic has wrongly bet on PN after deserting BN. Now with PAS on its side, Gerakan will unlikely get votes from non Malays since Hadi has been very extreme in his approach.
Read above comment by Johnny Toh dd 7 Dec 2022 2.32pm, Harimau Tua Reply to Johnny Toh dd 8 Dec 2022 3.49pm and Mat Din Reply to Johnny Toh dd 8 Dec 2022 4.04pm and then yours, Fauziah. So much pretense. These is DAP’s supporters hypocrisy way of looking at things.
Truth hurts for MCA losers.
MCA is now more irrelevant than ever, following the footsteps of Gerakan into oblivion.
Hee hee. Hallo, Jilat69? Yes, truth hurts, don’t it. All you clueless supporters have been licking your own wounds without realizing it for sometime now.
Clueless supporters expected Pakatan Harapan to win big time. Instead, now have to work with everyone to survive.
Unity government good for Umno, good ministerial positions. But no good for MCA, got nothing!
Ram Karpal Singh a better choice as Law Munister than Azalina if not for the need to cater for UMNO in unity government?
Ah suppose you did not see the video where he says UMNO is Kotor and then some. A better choice or not, how do you think he is going to work with UMNO people now that UMNO and Pakatan Harapan are partners in the governing of our Nation?
Worse still, what do think, we Rakyat will brand him as ?
Umno has no dilemma in unity government, maybe you should ask MCA instead.
The word ‘ Hypocrites ‘ exist for a reason. These are people who usually talk big big but fail to follow their own rules or beliefs and ah ain’t talking about UMNO.
All pha, you orso talk many and many. you dont follow your own rules eg you change your name from all pha to rakyat.
MCA got no place in cabinet along with Larry Sng of Parti Bangsa Malaysia.
You can call him whatever name. But when he roars and outperforms, credit goes to him. Or you give credit to MCA?…
It should be “bundle cabinet” comprises of ministers from various parties.
Bundle is a new business terminology now popular in Malaysia. Eg bundle shoes bundle shirts practically recycled items rejuvenated for the local consumption
Bundle is also recycled cabinets, but luckily we are spared of the racist elements of low yat II and keris.

Cost of living high because we import food and our Ringgit is weak. Need a good cabinet (luckily no ulama fro PAS) that is professional and qualified with good education to steer our economy. Do not waste time to promote Bahasa Malaysia worldwide as it does not help to strengthen the ringgit. PM9 wrong focus and up to PM10 to make amends!
Do not worry. No PAS involved here. We have one from PKR and one from Amanah both from PH, who have been assigned to look into matter.
Do not expect instant results after the damage done by the previous government. But we can expect some turnaround.
All Anwar’s ministers should now review ministerial cintrscts of the past to dismantle minopolustic cartels for more open markets to drive prices of goodz down to benfit rakyat.
Aliran could have inside info to enlighten tbe public for speedier and effective institutional reforms.

Zahid Hamidi was rewarded with DPM post for out-manoeuvering Muhyiddin and denying PN with 3 knockout punches.
https://www.straitstimes.com/asia/how-zahid-out-manoeuvered-muhyiddin-star-columnist
Jab, cross, hook and Zahid knocked out Muhyiddin’s dream to be PM for the second time.
Honestly, without the timely intervention of Zahid Komedi, Mahiaddin would have taken the sumpah to be PM10 and Hadi the DPM.
Mahiaddin has caused enough damage with MCOs and suspended parliament with ridiculous emergency ruling. Investors will shun us if PN with Hadi becomes government, turning us to become a failed state.
Our economy will suffer if PN continues to be government as investors have no faith in PAS.
Hadi Awang as Middle East special envoy (monthly salary RM70000!) has failed to attract any investment from Middle East nations, or drawing tourists from the likes if Saudi and UAE.
His situation was worse. The countries there did not allow him to visit. He had to console himslf with that salary.

Rafizi in action soon?
Last time Malays blamed sugar king kuok, now they have a Malay target in rice king the monopoly tycoon!
Suddenly we realise that there is a Malay tycoon’s monopoly at the expense of rakyat welfare. Enough of scaring Malays with Chinese, communist and Christians!
One less Chinese tycoon with the passing of Public bank founder – a bank that takes care of its shareholders … but [allegedly] not it’s employees and customers.
Rafizi, minister for economics in PM dept seem to be busy with ” deputy ministers in 2 weeks time ” and so far nothing else on economics. His other half is waiting for allocation to start off with his ministry’s work.
The only one who seem to be in action is the PM himself.
Can you enlighten us what Azmin has contributed as Economy Minister under Rejim Prihatin and Rejim Keluarga Malaysia?
Azmin? Sorry LMS, can’t say ah know much about him. Having said that, your question, are you asking this in defence of Rafizi and Mat Sabu or are you trying to say, they all belong in the same boat.
Am watching these 2 ministers to see what they are going to bring to the table to boost our overall economy. Clueless PH supporters said PH can do far more better on the Ringgit, food prices, food shortage and self sufficiency, etc, to name a few, than the governments before.
unlike your MCA Tai Lo. Even he has a pHD in Transport, he is clueness about Transport in whole country. See what happen to LRT? He did Telor and Ais kosong
Well, have to agree with you on that. The LRT issue and the breakdown of its infrastructure is simply shocking. Can’t remember him mentioning anything about it. Can’t blame him though. Top of the job spec. for the Minister of Transport must be to visit weddings and funerals and accidents and sick people, etc. No time to look into Transport matters.
