All my bags are packed – but to China, Taiwan or Oz?

One more day to go for the scheduled study trip, but they are still not sure where they are heading. It’s scheduled to start from tomorrow-lah!

Perhaps all they want is just to get those BN MPs out of the country for a while. The official term for this trip is “educational agricultural field trip”. Meanwhile, Anwar has gone off for his own lawatan kerja to Indonesia – and he is still insisting the defections are on track.

Barisan Back-benchers’ Club chairman Tiong King Sing is quoted in The Star as saying:

Asked if it was true that the MPs were headed to Australia as was reported on some websites, Tiong said he had met with the sub-committee in the club arranging the trip.

“However, we have yet to decide whether we should go to China or Taiwan. We have to weigh the pros and cons of these two destinations because for China, we will need to apply for visas.”

So far, 48 MPs have confirmed their attendance for this incredible trip. The only problem is they are probably still not sure where they are going!

My advice: avoid Indonesia this weekend.

All together now, let’s sing Leaving on a jet plane:

All my bags are packed, I’m ready to go
I’m standin’ here outside your door
I hate to wake you up to say good-bye

But the dawn is breakin’, it’s early morn
The taxi’s waitin’, he’s blowin’ his horn
Already I’m so lonesome I could die

So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you’ll wait for me
Hold me like you’ll never let me go

‘Cause I’m leaving on a jet plane
I don’t know when I’ll be back again
Oh, babe, I hate to go

I’m …

There’s so many times I’ve let you down
So many times I’ve played around
I’ll tell you now, they don’t mean a thing

I wonder why they need to go to Taiwan to study agriculture? Is Malaysia is not advance enough in agriculture technology? This desperate move and at a very last minute effort has shown that PM and TPM are very scared and worry for their own MP’s. Somemore, this trip using their own money? and so many MP’s go together in 1 trip, why not sending our Agriculture Minister or our states agriculture’s exco? This will be more meaningful. The trip will take 2 weeks to finish? Enough time for all MP’s to bring back certificate in agriculture (made in Taiwan).… Read more »

Since they are making free with taxpayers money, why not ask them to pay us back from their own salaries on return. Perhaps the PM and DPM can shell out first, since they’re two of the richest people around. The amount spent is surely ‘kacang’ to them. On second, thoughts, wonder if they are coming back at all? May be this is the first shipment of MPs running away to avoid the consequences of their actions when they were in office. Who will be in the second shipment? Have Badawi, Najib and Mahathir got their bags packed ready to go when… Read more »

Taiwan being a non-muslim country, would be interesting how the BN MP’s can maintain their Halal and Puasa practices. would be interesting of someone can shadow this “morally high” group and report back on how our taxpayers Ringgit is being spent.

i think this field to “don’t known where” …is it an excuse to avoid fasting? See how eager they want to join this expedition to “somewhere”.They are not suppose to move around during this fasting in order to conserve their strength and they must be at home with love ones to break the fast. … Better still “GO to Hell” It is not an expression; it exist in USA.

How do you like to go on a trip
Trying to give others feared the slip
With only their own conscience to strip
Some prefer to happily stay at home to sleep

These BN clowns are really hilarious if not for the fact that we are paying for their folly. They seem to have this cunning ability of making themselves laughing stocks by creating one boo boo after another. One question to them. Just how long you think you can keep them overseas? So what if 916 is delayed for a few days? I think would be more logical if they all move to Zimbabwe, permanently of course. Since (many of them) desire to be filthy rich, they’ll all be living the live of billionaires there. I’m sure Mugabe would love the… Read more »

dear anil We are the first tropical country to have penguins in Langkawi. Soon with our YBs coming back with high tech agri technology, we will see apples, wheat, pears, oranges, barley growing in our land. There is no more need to import. Under this new agri policy Malaysia will be food self sufficient in all types of food production . This is why we need to send our YBs for lawatan sambil belajar at taxpayers cost for the benefit of the rakyat. Incidentally we also get first hand images of the outside world through their NIkons and Canons cameras… Read more »

We all know last minute trip means way more expensive trip…

well after all you need to book air ticket which is usually twice more expensive within 24 hours ahead of the flight…

then hotel bookings… and to visit the agriculture “institute”… all money money money…

and I believe I’d contributed slightly to those money… 😀

I once played “Treasure Hunt” Kiwi style whereby you are given some riddles/clues linked to the destination. Upon solving the riddles/clues, you’ll know where you need to go. Upon reaching that destination you’ll get another riddles/clues to the next destination and so on until you reached the finish line.

I think our govt has introduced “Treasure Hunt” to BN MPs. So, first clue: Hand in your passport = overseas trip. Second clue: Get in touch with other BN MPs = Group travel …. See? Isn’t it fun?

Happy Treasure Hunting!!!

Read more »

Hi everyone, I marvel at BN’s counter-productive moves in continuously insulting Malaysians’ intelligence. This’s getting more and more incredulous by the day! A trip cooked-up at such short notice can be called a study tour, even when which places to visit is still ambiguous. How ‘stupid’ can the BN MPs be in signing-up for a trip to unknown destinations? What about the timing of the trip, encompassing Sept 16 and during the holy month of Ramadan!! What about the Govt’s decree that overseas trips should be more in the ASEAN region? The country’s economy is suffering, the people are tightening… Read more »

That’s the problem with this flip flopping government! Telling the RAKYAT not to be extravagant yet they do it themselves. In order not to be seen as such, it was reported that a certain BN MP is sponsoring the trip! Which idiotic … would be doing it…
‘Agricultural study trip’, ya ya, cross breeding …
Thought the trip is compulsory for all BN MPs, how come only 48 are attending?

Anil, a beautiful song but sadly, words have all gone wrong. It will sound better with a few alterations here and there, and we have a new HIT Single. How about singing out aloud everybody??? Oh yes, just follow the lyrics below with the same musical score from the original song. Come on everybody, singalong, okay? If these …… go to Australia, someone please do the following:

1. Alert Australia Customs that they can have a nice time (watching out for)… all sorts of Customs infringements. I wont say what but can someone please ask Australian Customs to do a complete check on the arrving MPs?

2. Send PKR/DAP/PAS MP wannabes into the absent BN MP constituencies for the duration fo their absence and reconnect with the people by saying since the BN MOs have run away, PR will take care of their needs.

Whenever I travel oversea nowadays, I would not dare to tell people at my destinations that I am a Malaysian.
Dare you? If you do, they would give you a wry smile, thinking about you coming from a land whose politicians are unashamed of almost anything, have a fondness of liwat meliwat.
