Shamrock condos: No approval yet

No approval has been given so far for a high-rise condominium project on the green stretch opposite Shamrock Beach in Batu Feringghi.

But residents are worried that the council may eventually approve the project. Following howls of protest, the project was scaled down from 37 storeys to 22 storeys.

The MPPP issued notices to neighbouring residents on 6 September giving them three weeks to make any objections.

The council must make public the gradients of the hill-slopes in the area as the state government had said there would be no more projects on Class 3 and 4 slopes.

I dont blame DAP/LimGuanEng/Pakatan for the Surin project becos it was approved during Dr Koh’s time.

We need to be fair, dont expect and ask Lim Guan Eng to eat the dead cat…

Of course, a state’s CM will be surrounded by big time businessmen during a fund raising dinner. Apa salahnya?
.
Lim Guan Eng himself had said during an interview that his long lost friends esp when he was in prison suddenly all appeared now… that is the reality of life, sad but true…

Whatever, just wait dont jump to conclusion yet…

Go to his facebook, CM Lim Guan Eng and especially the recent DAP building fund raising dinner.

CM Lim Guan Eng’s Photos – Fundraising dinner for Wisma DAP, Penang_181010.

You can see that he is surrounded by … developers/businessmen left right and centre….

Just go to facebook of CM Lim Guan Eng. You can pictures after picture of him mingling with all the … contractors/developers/businessmen. That is why complaints from ordinary citizens would fall on deaf ears.
Example is Surin Condos in Tg Bungah, the protestors have been ignored, and they are now quiet too. The contractors are rubbing shoulders with the CM, and these residents are now cowed into submission.

Ah Soon, thks for your video but that OJY’s
project was started in 2006.

I am glad that finally after 2 decades of slumber, Penang people are awoken now…

Yes, Penang people must do something to stop hills invasion by all means as the developers are getting more and more greedy…

It is time that we must protect mother’s nature !!!

I am a resident in Tg Bungah and I am outraged about another high-rise in Bt Feringgi. We need to find a way to make out displeasure know to the state government. If they disregard the people’s opinion they they will pay in the next GE. The present administration portrayed themselves as the people’s champion and it’s ablout time they keep their promises to the people.

Prove it, LimGuan Eng/DAP/Pakatan that you are the government for Penang indeed as we have hopes in you. Read a letter from a foreigner (tourist) that she will not return to Penang anymore after seeing all the ugly highrise in Tg Bungah and Batu Ferringhi… There is virtually no town planning at all, we have apartments pop up here and there and everywhere, it really makes Penang look so ugly… Indeed much damage had been done under the rule of Gerakan/BN for the past 2 decades… I believe in the past, when a project was approved, some politicians’ pockets get… Read more »

If MPPP and state govt approves this project, that is it. Enough is enough from current govt. They can’t keep blaming ostrich anymore. They better come up with a very good reason why it was approved.
Otherwise, I am also going to jump ship, and I have been supporting opposition since 1980s
