In this era of Youtube, elected reps had better be on their toes when discharging their duties as they are coming under ever greater public scrutiny.
Three video clips show Penang Opposition Leader (from Umno/BN) Azhar Ibrahim apparently gesturing with his rear on two different occasions at the Penang State Assembly last week.
The first video has Azhar hitting out at theSun newspaper while apparently gesturing with his hand at his rear: “Itu paper pembohong besar. Ambil you punya paper calit … lagi baik. (That paper is a big liar. Take your paper and smear it with … would be better.)” His statement was made in the mistaken belief that theSun had reported him as commenting on a rowdy BN demonstration outside the state assembly when in reality the paper had not quoted him on the issue.
The second and third videos show different angles of the same action where Azhar appears to point his rear at PKR assembly member Sim Tze Tzin while saying, “Ini peraturan. (Here’s the regulation.)”
Azhar was later suspended for the rest of the meeting by the Speaker after refusing to apologise for his behaviour. He insisted he was only bending down to reach for his bag.

Who is this Gerakan K? Sounds like just trying to look for fight here and wasting our time to reply him/her/it. I suggest just to ignore this idiot.

We should give any repented person a chance which including Ahmad Ismail and LGE. By the way is that a criminal act for someone to tear up somebody picture?
No one is an angel. You’ll have to ask God if he had indeed sent one to Penang to save Gerakan. 🙂 Anyway, it is far better to live under a generally honest government which gets excellent grades in the Auditor General report than to live under one with endless corruption scandals. Hopefully, this may spearhead changes for BN states to emulate. Take care of your bank account well, Gerakan, because this country does not have an infinite supply of oil money to pay a billion here and a billion there to bail out corruption. The end result of this,… Read more »
Selangor EXCO (from PAS) Hassan Ali (allegedly) directed MBSA to confiscate beer from 7/11 in Shah Alam because that area is malay majority area. This is blantant unlawful act by PR administration. Since when there is provision for malay majority area ruling?
Since when was there ever a provision for a Malay majority area? Never! And certainly not in PR-ruled states. Gerakan K, do you truly believed Hassan Ali acted on a directive from the PAS top echelon on that beer confiscation issue? Nope. He took on his own take of things unilaterally — in part due to his Exco position in the S’gor Govt but mainly because he was (and still is) (allegedly) in cahoots with the UMNO goons to deliver S’gor back to UMNO. Stirring up trouble, that’s what he did. TULANG BESI, bless this great man, has given a… Read more »
I noticed that when PR supporters have zero reason to defend any wrongful act by PR leaders, they tend to label that leader as mole, BN cahoot, etc.
Just admit your idol is not an angel anymore. Don’t support PR if anyone wanted to freedom to drink beer.
The last time I heard of the “Malay majority concept” which forced temples needed to relocate from its original place just because that area currently was MALAY MAJORITY AREA was in Shah Alam supported by your UMNO comrades with hooligans publicly stomping on a cow head. They now call upon the government to deprive YB Kula’s citizenship just because he dared to raise a question on UMNO’s “Ketuanan” in Parliament.
Getting senile? 🙂
No one can guarantee that a demonstration will always turn out to be peaceful because no one can guarantee moles from the other side will not create trouble to sabotage the event. An impartial police force may reduce the probability of a sabotage. However, we can surely guarantee that even before a demonstration were to take place, the police would be creating major traffic jams in the city stretching for many kilometers and for several days. In every demonstration held so far by the opposition, the demonstrators acted admirably and most tolerantly under extreme provocation by those who went on… Read more »
The right to assemble without arms is guaranteed by the Malaysian constitution. That guarantee was abused by later amendments and addendum. In the spirit of that guarantee, what the police should have done, as in other matured democracies with standards of living far exceeding ours, was to allow demonstrators the space and time to express their dissatisfaction and to maintain security so that a peaceful demonstration can end within the stipulated time without incident. Instead the police inconvenient hundreds of thousands of commuters with unnecessary road blocks. Only the blind recognise not that police action to prevent democratic expressions in… Read more »
Who can guarantee that any demonstration is peaceful one? With presence of many people, only a small incitement will cause violent actions and endless retaliation. Any demonstration hurts businesses and image of our country. Only loser resorted to demonstration. Clearly we know who is the loser.
Hallo! Stop your spin! PR had organized demonstrations and they attract people from all walks of lives and the numbers ranged from tens of thousands, not like the ones organized by UMNO, BN goons, can only attract at best 100 demonstrators and that too, many are paid to attend. In the name of justice, who always disrupt the PR demonstrations? It is always the pdrm. You look like a master mole, Gerakan K. PR has always shown their class to demonstrate peacefully. BN just cannot organize a demonstration because they just cannot attract the numbers! Name one demonstrations organized by… Read more »
“Malay majority concept” advocated by PAS which forces temples needed to relocate from its original place just because that area currently is MALAY MAJORITY AREA! That is scary. Mind you, Malaysia is malay majority area. How about this then? Relocate temples out of Malaysia?
Your claim is mischievous. … When PAS took over kelantan nik aziz saw that many had applied (for chinese and indian temples) but were (allegedly) rejected by umno. He subsequently invited the chinese and indians from various temples for a chit-chat and after the talk all the temples were approved and those without land he offered them land for the purpose. Today kelantan boast one of the largest buddha statues in malaysia and many chinese from there when they travelled to terengganu or pahang spoke of such openness and acceptance. The case in shah alam was engineered by umno goons… Read more »
Ketuanan concept advocated by UMNO and supported by Gerakan! PAS never advocated “malay majority concept” Stop your spin! So you, one of the greatest critics of PR states agree that there are no issues that affect you for the worst! Thank you Gerakan K. In the event you wish to change your mind, we allow you the benefits of the doubts and tell us what is so bad about the PR Government compared to their BN counterparts. In the event you are not agreeable to my argument that PAS did not advocate the “malay majority concept” which is unheard of,… Read more »
bear ban in selangor
– male and female segregation in kelantan, this is outdated policy
– DAP failed to protect Kg Buah Pala, this is election promise by DAP. Don’t deny this, I have video evidence. Ask this blogowner, he also has plenty of evidence.
disgusting and moronic
Hi O (7:38 pm)
Gerakan K can add another Malaysian achievement to his/her grand list of our proud achievements.
Malaysia as SE Asia’s Number One Exporter
of skilled labour (no, make it Number Two: after the post-Marcos Republic of the Philippines, where qualified doctors study for nursing degrees in order to work overseas in Western countries for better pay)
Phuah, Gerakan is dead in the eyes of Penangists. It was proven in 308 GE. Wake up Gerakan!
Hi! Phua, to people like Gerakan K, you got to hit the nail harder so that the nail sinks into his hardened skull! He continues to spin lies when we are a faltering country, some has even called us a failed state! With corruption unstoppable, and present at the lowest to the highest level of our Government institutions, and, this block head is still continuing with his spins! Phua, to any spinners like Gerakan K, there are a lot in town …, let us just asked them 1 simple question,” How has the PR led Government affected your life for… Read more »
The way and the scale corruption is being exposed these days, we may be bankrupt by 2020.
Even in the absence of corruption, growing at a mere 3% average each year for the next 10 years is not going to lift this country to advance status. You can work out the maths.
How can someone like Gerakan K calculate? Remember his brains are deposited with Azhar…
He is still sleeping that Malaysia will be an advance state, based on what? Based on his bank balance? Hallo, are you aware that Malaysia is today ranked sixth in terms of attracting FDI’s in Southeast Asia? For your further information, we are ahead of CAmbodia, Laos and Myanmar. Is that food for thought, why we had slackened so much? Go ask your political master!!!!!
For FDI issue,
How on earth investors want to invest in Malaysia when there are plenty stupid demo organized by PR, eg 1st August 2009. Also your always innocent CM with angel wing LGE conveniently turned down USD 10 billions investment.
You lie through your mouth … IT STINK ..Remember after GE08 who start the biggest demonstration in front of Komtar. When Karpal retort the Perak royal household, how many demonstration there were by UMNO in Penang and throughout Malaysia. Are you blind or what…and the recent one in front of the Penang state assembly……
Gerakan K, Remember, demonstrations organized by PR or NGOs are for a good cause, for the Rakyat! Demonstrations organized by BN which is so sick to the core today, where the Rakyat just do not want to bother with what they do, they resort to demonstrating to scare like the one in Komtar immediately after 308, infront of the State Assembly, cow head, cow head poster stomping! These are bad, with childish behaviour, insensitive of the feelings of the Rakyat, just to gain some political mileage! Gerakan K, do you realize the demonstrations by BN and its cronies hardly gathers… Read more »
You don’t read newspapers, do you? Or spending too much time here over at Anil’s blog covering yours and your … master’s … to even bother with newspapers?
The Deputy Finance Minister himself had admitted investments into M’sia petered off as early as 10 years ago. And you think we can achieve Vision 2020? What was that Japanese word again for IDIOT?
Tun Mahathir said we can do it. I strongly think so.
You got to knock extra hard in his hardened skull just to push some grey matters in.
You are correct, spending his time mainly in Anil’s blog. From the look of thing, he hardly reads the newspapers or fail to understand what was written in the papers.
Remember to check your bank balance.
TDM is the greatest racist of all time and the country is suffering now after 22 years of his leadership. BTN and all those created products like you, Gerakan K. Do you strongly think so?
What else have you gotta spin Gerakan K?
Can you tell us how the new PR led Governments had made your life for the worst?
Somehow Gerakan K is all alone this time around in this thread, O. Dunno where his other best buddies i.e. Ong Eu Soon and K (another K, actually!) have disappeared to. I do feel kinda sorry for him that he has to fight us, the Rakyat all alone and losing the war in the process.
We need a total reset after 28 years of permeative abuse and corruption (the first 24 was ok).
To do that, we need to relegate BN to opposition for at least 2 terms.
After that, we may bring them back.
Cannot agree to you more, wise man. Hope all Malaysians have the will to continue with their unfinished business.
With Petronas dwindling fortunes, EPF is the next target, and then it is anyone’s guess what will happen.
Malaysia is too sick today, God saves Malaysia! With mentality from people like Gerakan K, what hope is there for this country?
Malaysia to be an advanced state in 2020. This is good enough.
IDIOT, UMNO say lets give the bumiputra 20 years to succeed starting from 1970 to 1990. After that all shall be fair and square. 1990 has gone and they are still continuing the NEP. Are you such an ignorant fool…..
Of course Azhar should be suspended but why the hue and cry from PR supporters when you all cheered as Gobind called the PM a murderer in Parliament WITHOUT a shred of evidence? I wonder … is this the sort of fairness everyone wants? Its all a joke now, in many ways, soon PR will turn to be like BN in 52 years. Where is the clean start? There is only hatred for BN and many will support whatever PR does as long as it hurts BN. So we ask for justice and fairness?
Another BN apologist!
PR will turn into BN in FIFTY-TWO years, you say? Hell, it’s worth the wait, I say! They can have even half of that and I’d still vote PR into power again and again.
That says a lot of BN, doesn’t it? They are just full of … right now that any alternative (no matter how bad anyone wants to paint that picture) is DEFINITELY BETTER than BN.
He should have done the christian thing and turned the other cheek.
Another “small matter” – the BTN controversy.
Again, no comment from the Gerakan-MCA-MIC-etc
junior partners of UMNO.
Lying in the state assembly is no small matter.
This is the quality of PR administration. Deliberately to avoid debate by harping on small matter regarding to opposition.
Face with incontrovertible evidence of misdemeanour, Gerakan K…
If you had kept quiet you would have preserved a modicum of credibility as a human.
Aisay Anil you had deleted some nice things I had said about GK. I had phrase it so nicely 😉 Within the buddhist community many believed that “right speech” is one where we speak courteously, nicely, gently and do not cause affront. In quite a few newsgroup they had argued that this is what constituted right speech. I had read quite a few sutras and Buddha and quite a few of the arahants were anything but nice in many of their speeches. The chinese mahayana tended to rewrite the sutra to portray Buddha as nice and gentle but if one… Read more »
Still much better than UMNO that (squanders) … Malaysians’ money… and Gerakan has no …, lol
This is what I call a bum rap….
What can be expected from UMNO members ?
Shameful lowdown umno politicians! These … hats have been in power the past 52+ years and that’s the reason why Malaysia is in deep … today with all our neighbours are way ahead of us.
azhar showing his rear … where’s saiful??! where’s saiful??!
Ha! Ha! Ha!. You are so funny!
Anil, my apologies to break away from this topic. Could you shed some light on this Human Rights Party whose Indian-centric blogs have been flooding Mkini’s blog section lately. Their comments are always closed too and it is annoying as a neutral Mkini reader. Thanks.
I see your true colors shining through….
Rear? That is where most politician’s brain is situated. Is it not?
One can conclude quite accurately when someone utilizes his anatomical rear to express a point, that his thinking is from the posterior inwards.
