Noynoy worth RM3.6m; our PM, CMs?

Philippine President Aquino has declared his assets showing that he is worth RM3.6 million (50 million pesos). Now when will we get to know how much the Malaysian Prime Minister, Cabinet Ministers and Chief Ministers are worth? Transparency anyone?

Aquino submitted his ‘Statement of Assets and Liabilities and Net Worth’ to the Ombudsman’s office soon after he assumed office. Notice, it is not a statement of income but of assets.

In contrast, his predecessor Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo started her term of office with a net worth of RM4.8 million. By the time she stepped down from office, her wealth had soared to RM10.2 million.

See Philstar.com report here.

These amounts are chicken feed compared to what some of our politicians are worth – although in both countries, their real wealth is unlikely to be in their own names.

Still, the practice of making a declaration of assets does serve to put public scrutiny on politicians and to make them more circumspect about their life-styles, some of which can be ostentatious.

For instance, it would be most revealing to see a declaration of assets by the likes of Najib, Taib Mahmud and Samy Vellu.

And what about the Pakatan CMs who promised us transparency?

I think many Pakatan fellas are shy to declare their assests because they are so very, very poor (except maybe ex-BN people…)! Some of the DAP fellas actually squatter with their parents or extended families.

RM888 BILLION FLOW OUT OF THE COUNTRY AS ILLICIT FUNDS ! WE ARE RANKED SECOND ONLY TO CHINA IN ASIA IN TERMS OF THESE ILLICIT FUNDS ! CAN SAFELY SAY (CERTAIN) BUAYAS, LANUNS AND HANTUS AND THEIR CRONIES ARE THE MAIN SOURCES OF THESE FUNDS ! GLOBAL FINANCIAL INTEGRITY OFFER OF ASSISTANCE TO TRACK THESE FUNDS WAS IMMEDIATELY SHOT DOWN ! AT THIS RATE THE NATION MAY GO BANKRUPT EARLIER THAN 2019 !

No … I don’t need to check.
Forbes & others already did most of the work for us.

Moreover, those who are not rich, do not have the habit of living extravagantly on public money.

Yes wira, we are not blind.

The poorest CM/MB would (probably) be YAB Tok Guru Nik Aziz closely followed by YAB Dato’ Seri Ustaz Azizan and YAB Lim Guan Eng. The richest would (probably) be YAB Datuk Patinggi Abdul Taib bin Mahmud (soon to be Tun if he agrees to retire). His enormous opulence is (perhaps) closely trailed by the retired MB of Johor, YAB Muhyiddin… Our PMs are, of course, out of this league for want of a seemingly clean front even though they (may) spend tens of millions to make themselves luxuriously comfortable on tax payers’ expense. (But certain of) their billionaire children and… Read more »

Have indirectly heard of a mere school teacher who bought 5 houses, and a former EXCO who became worth 50 million. KTK who started in a Terrace now is worth what?… Recently departed LCE Chaired 12 Public Listed Companies… what do you think he’s worth, not to mention all the Ministers circa current GE12 who only dare declare to the PM what they have?

If anyone votes such people into power, they must be complete idiots or lapdogs or lapdog wannabes. Some people sell their soul for $$$. These are the scum of society.

If men cannot/forbidden to see the real assets of our present and past politicians, God can see down to the very cent of hidden assets of our questionable politicians. Their defensive actions already tell snippets of truth of their forked-tongue lying intention. As the common saying goes: You cannot take your earthly wealth with you after you die. Not even the Pharoahs with the awesome treasures hidden in pyramids. So, wait for Judgement Day, my dear politicians when ye shall account for every cent ye ill-gotten. (Remember this every night before you go to sleep). To the general public, though… Read more »
