The Challenges Facing Malaysia’s Anwar Ibrahim After 1 Year In Office (CNA Insight):

Reformasi mana ni

Anil in fact these days toe the line, less provocative, hence not controversial. The downside is Anilnetto.com is losing readership as a result of being “obedient”.
Is it safe to say that the mighty river of justice is slowly drying up leaving behind small pools of water here and there? Do not we have a Democratic nation, its admin, muddle with foreign names and religiosity. How do then we move forward?
Demo cracy by the people, for the people and to the people. If vote and chose the crocked road, the nation goes bengkok
PSM appeared to be the first off the starting block to commend Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for dropping V Sivakumar as the human resources minister.
Whereas PAS chimed in with a sardonic swipe at the cabinet size, which has grown from 28 to 31.
That’s right. Before the GE15, boast about bringing the size of cabinet / ministers to half, but just one year only, make a U-Turn and increase the size further.
A copy from TMM’s playbook, manifestoes and promises are not cast in stones. Quantity before quality or qualified.
Economy still in doldrum since the 1998 financial crisis. Food security and sustainability no sure where it is heading. Price of goods still high. Quality poor. National debt now? Etc etc etc.
You can predict the outcome of the election? If can predict, then don’t have election to save $$$. The outcome shows the newly formed Gomen is unstable and may plug into crisis with cross overs.
Very seldom Anil got interviewed by media.
Possibly because local media is still tightly controlled and the local TV stations (RTM, Media Prima, Astro, Bernama) tend to interview less controversial people that toe the official line.
Malaysia’s weakening ringgit and subsidy removals fuel rising cost of living
Good video reflecting current woes of Malaysia people difficult coping with rising costs.
The numbers paint a worrying picture – nearly 40% Malaysians do not have a retirement plan, which has experts calling for government intervention to forestall a crisis.
In the Malaysia Ageing and Retirement Survey (MARS) Wave 2, some 37% of the 4,821 respondents said they had not given much thought towards retirement while 23% said they may opt to change the nature of their work.

If the musical chair of who get which seats involves the same actors, how is it going to be different for the betterment of our Nation and the well being of our Rakyat?
GEORGE TOWN, Nov 30 — Penang has been found to have rare earth elements (REEs) estimated to be worth RM100 billion, Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow told the state legislative assembly here today.
Bad news is the extraction of such REEs will cause environmental degradation.
heritage city may be sitting 50 billion – dig them up??
Yah, yah, dig them up. When no water, someone suggest use underground water but State admin say cannot, say ground will become unstable and pigeon hole tall building will wobble and start coming down crashing.
But this one REEs is okay, can supersede all that because of money, money, money, billions in $$$, its a rich mans world.
And it will all begin, with a misplaced footing of an overly excited, double talking, my legacy seeking, CM.
Wonder where Kedah fits in all this?
It shows you do not know about the laws and planning. You can build a house about 300ft sea level?
The real root cause facing Malaysia is this. In one hand, the voters, especially, the non-Malays have NO choice. Due to fear of PAS, they need to vote PH regardless whether Anwar perform or not, in the name of giving him more time. Of course, Rome is not built in one day. But back here, Malaysia is also NOT built in proper manner in last 67 years. We are still divided and being divided by politicians. We can’t even get our education system right. Don’t talk about other things. A 67 years old guy still struggling to know what is… Read more »
Can PM Anwar be counted to enforce promised reforms related to merit based governance, institutional reforms against abuse and corruption, ceasing politics of patronage, zero corruption and reigning in the 2R hate preachers that divide the rakyat by race and religion for political expediency?
These are the clear and present danger facing the country. The people are struggling, especially the B40s, from the stagnated economy, ever raising cost of living, tumbling currency and dwindling FDI.

No point talking about boosting our economy from this sector if it is going to make our local lives difficult to live. “Malaysia advocates a “fiercely independent” foreign policy, and Anwar said the country would deal with China according to Malaysia’s interests.”
>>> Well, as we can see, The only country among Asean countries that is taking some form action or steps to control China’s expansion in South China Sea now is Philippines.
You want to control the export of durians to China? You want to say no Chinese tourists to Penang? You go and tell look east does not include China? China’s expansion has its own reasons. You see China expand into Laos, Burma, Vietnam? You can see the boundary lines clearly marked in Hi malayans?
“But Anwar said Malaysia would firmly negotiate with China over territorial disputes in the South China Sea and not allow any unilateral action by Beijing.” >>> Maybe one does not realize this but Beijing, China has taken unilateral actions already, latest being the introduction of their latest China’s MAP that covers most parts of South China Sea and some parts of other adjoining countries with China. Later, when things have settled down, they will just enforce it. So, unless the Asean cooperate together and do what needs to be done in the initial stages, Asean countries may not be able to do… Read more »
You want to drag Sin, Thai, Burma, East Timor part of Asean into this?
“During the recent Apec 2023 summit in US, he was asked why Malaysia was tilting towards China. He replied: “Because they’re investing more.”
>>> One needs to understand that China is a communist country with about 88 million communist governing 1.3+ billion Chinese people. To them, their survival will come first.
So, all the rhetoric about China being a trade partner and whatnot will not have any importance later, for will they come to your aid unconditionally in your hour of need?
You think USA leader of the free world and human right? Human rights to whom? Palestinians with over 20k killed and more are under famine and sickness. Yet this leader continue to supply weapons of mass destruction. The water down resolution passed by UN is completely ignored.
you think US president Biden very truthful? He talk very much about 2 states in Middle East. He just pay lip service.
Note that during the Cultural Revolution in the mid sixties, initiated by Mao Zedong, the aim was to preserve the communist ideology and eliminate capitalist and traditional elements within Chinese society.
It involved widespread persecution, purges, and violence, leading to the deaths of millions of individuals.
Is China’s mindset, their ideological beliefs and views any different now ?
What they show externally may not be the same what they think and hold close to their heart internally.
It is just like another believing. Holier than thou. He is better than she and she is holier than him.
Who told you it is to preserve communist ideology? Then what about USSR? What about Cuba, North Korea and North Vietnam? They are not communists to eliminate capitalists?

Now the lines are drawn and it is clear. PAS is in PN and is the dominating political party in the coalition with 40 plus Federal seats.
But if PAS joins Pakatan Harapan it is going to get complicated. PAS is all for a theocratic state. Pakatan Harapan is about democracy and multiculturalism.
If PAS joins and pushes for any form theocracy, the other political parties in PH unity are going to oppose. If they don’t, they will be voted out. And lets not forget the East Malaysia factor. They will definitely not want any of it.
In this scenario, PKR will become the biggest loser. Already Rakyat were not happy with their leadership and their constant theocratic approach. DAP might split, Amanah and East Malaysia might join with DAP and there are other small political parties on the side line. Not sure yet but UMNO might just become history.
Right now, we Rakyat are mostly interested in the improvement of our economy, food security and sustainability, reduced cost of living, protection of our green environment, proper management of our Nation’s finances, reduce our national debt, complete eradication of corruption, etc etc etc. A whole lot of us are still living here, not in the hereafter, we need clean water, food , clothing and shelter to sustain our lives, which now have a average life expectancy of about 65 to 70 years. Shriek asks,”Apart from complaint, what you want readers to do?” Answer : Unite, Rakyat! Shape the Future of our Nation! All readers / Rakyat should come together, embrace our Nation’s diversity, be inclusive and make collective decisions on our opinions and desires. Let us be consistent in our vision for progress, using the power of social media to voice our concerns to the political parties. If political parties do not listen, fear not, for in the coming General Election, support to increase the number of qualified independents to become MPs and State Assembly persons. This includes passionate citizens from NGOs,… Read more »
What diversity? Many said their feelings are hurt. Also the wrongs and rights are questioned. Preferences are the norm and many like from Penang have to work over the seas. A girl asked about entering science colleges and unis.
It’s time for the political parties to feel the impact of our united front. We must not tolerate broken election promises, sluggish policy reviews, or deceitful rhetoric about the state of our nation. Let’s make a big dent on the political parties, their power, showing them that we demand transparency, accountability, and progress. The future of our nation rests in our hands, the Rakyat. Let’s grasp this opportunity and forge forward, to a path of positive change. Together, we can shape the destiny of our great nation for generations to come. Are the Rakyat / readers up for it? “Crucial 1,200mm valve can break down at any time.”
>>> Exactly how many 1,200mm valve are there at the Sungai Dua water treatment plant in Butterworth because last year the same reason was used to shut down the Sungai Dua water treatment plant.
What about all that upgrading work that has been taking place, believe since 2017 at the plant.
If no upgrade and maintenance, you like to drink kopi or kau jau or the tarik?
Expensive to do? But water rates have been raising for free water falling from the sky. Where is the state tax payers money going to? Budget seems to be in deficit with higher cost allocations and less for development cost.
Straight 4 days of no water, is this the 1st time ? The whole of Penang is going to stink. Some people need to be replaced. This is beginning to remind us of the Klang valley water episodes.
If free, go and buy containers and collect them. During rain – go and wash your car, clothes and floor. pipelines, pumps, chemical dosing, treatment plants, staff – metre readers work free?
Yap, that is exactly what ah have been doing, wherever possible like washing car or balcony and car poach floors, etc. Possibly, others could be doing the same too.
Some time ago, the State with its Green 2030, was talking about designing and building houses with rain harvesters to harvest free rainwater. Has this been implemented?
What about harvesting free energy from the Sun, designing and building houses with energy harvesting solar cells as rooftops?
State build 4 story walk up flats or high rise flats not landed properties. You can show them where to put the rain harvest tank in flats? Yu want the state to wash their cars? Which state supply electricity to roads or house? You orso want state to pay for their solar panels and storage?
Today’s mollycoddled youngsters, this can be really challenging including your middle age self to figure out. So, very old senior with a feeble mind, poor eyesight and rickety hands / fingers is going to you a clue,
critical mass + mass production = lower price OR mass production + critical mass = lower price. Can figure or not?
Infamous hand greasing of any kind or form not included otherwise lower price cannot be achieved.
Tell us what you did when greasing hands are prevailing in your time?

Plastic ban. Then you bring your own cup, bowl when you eat outside? Or they serve the food onto your two open hands.
How was people eating outside in restaurants, coffee shops or roadside stalls, etc or buying food in packs to go before the introduction of plastics?

Yes go and ask grandparents. There are no plastic bags, plates, fork and spoons. They are first class green.

dont you know how they rojak the constitution? tell us where is the social contract? …
Let me rephrase the term ‘Social Contract’ in my earlier reply dd 25 Dec 2023 10.24am.
The term ‘Social Contract’ refers to the consensus reached by our forefathers on specific social issues, which was then incorporated into our Malaysian Federal Constitution.
Let me rephrase. Dr Lim in your quoted article said is myth. Why no one said anything about SC to LKY when Sing was part of Malaysia? When North Borneo, Sarawak and Sing join in 1963, how can one drag 1957 into 1963?
Show us the social issues TAR, Siew Sin and Sambathan used after independence and after formation of Malaysia. Reserved places in edu, housing, civil jobs, defence. If no response, you are just spinning like Biden.
