Malaysia, Singapore’s biggest source for sea sand, has banned the export of the commodity, according to officials in Kuala Lumpur, a move that traders said could complicate the island-state’s ambitious expansion plans on reclaimed land.

Those plans include the development of the Tuas mega port, slated to be the world’s biggest container terminal. Singapore has increased its land area by a quarter since independence in 1965, mostly by using sand to reclaim coastal areas.

And still want to build monstrous 6-lanes highway tunnels inside the hills? May I say CAT property play is nonchalantly playing with the cheapo lives of wai-lao construction workers who are worth like cockroaches every time it rains on mud houses! Anyway, we will hear the familiar press calls of dumb face concerns of natural disaster beyond engineering fault, beyond responsibility of state authorities & monitors, beyond EIA, beyond just about anybody who approved this project of beyond safety, responsibility & accountability. GOSH… Read more »

DAP CAT once a upon a time meowed a no plastic bag ruling in Penang in the name of Cleaner Greener Penang. We Penangites had no problem with that as long as the lands & seas of Penang were not polluted any further. BUT now, the same DAP CAT which has apparently morphed into Developers Associated Party is arrogantly pushing for more unpalatable sea reclamations in the cat-holy-grail excuses of financing Monster PTMP which will definitely mess up the seas, which it tried to protect since the plastic bag CSR Cat-Tai-Chi. Who would want to now believe in “I Love… Read more »

Very similar symptoms as Hong Kong protesters not happy with development that they could not enjoy ie. Overpriced Overhanging Expensive Homes that is unaffordable to many.

Gerakan BN has no good track record either in this aspect. So Penang need a good alternative party, not just NGOs.

Better to tolak plastik first.
Bring your own container and straw for the bubble tea, and ask for discount.

Instead of Tolak Tambak, should use “Tak Nak Tambak”. The “TNT” has more ‘dynamite’ for better marketing and communication purpose.

MaCAi Star is pursuing “Semak & Imbang” implicitly on Penang reclamation, but somehow very quiet on Melaka & Johor reclamations previously. Recently MaCAi Star created a shotlived ripple on the airport issue. This blog seems to merrily reproduce and amplify whatever CAT damaging reporting from MaCAi Star, thus continue to elicit hehehe response.

Penang Press group that got 1MDB dedak already woke up.

I think wages not going up in the last 2 decades making many frustrated cannot buy property. Not about any drunkenness. They are sober to the harsh reality, that’s why some venture in SingLand to earn SingDollar to keep up.

Don, I don’t think you truly understand the reality of property market – oversupply of high end properties at surreal monopolistic prices beyond the reach of many as confirmed by Bank Negara & financial institutions. To play along the CAT Property Play this far despite the ugly facts is like being drunk in apathetic hopelessness or political diehard euphoria of self deception just to deny the reality of property market disruptions brought about by corporate-political tango. Ask any drunkard why he drinks? As for wages in stagnation, this is another reality of low demand due to low purchasing power but… Read more »
