@grkumar, what point is that, pray tell, or is this another of your escape hatchets i.e. making a noise for the sake of making a noise?
Thank you Andrew but, all day means what? Until midnight? I am on my way there now. If I can find the house on Google map.
Too many people at 8:00 PM, will try again at 10:00 PM.
Well, I finally made it. The queue was longer than at 8 but my persistence this time saw me through. The wake was to end at 11PM but streams of people were still waiting to get in. I sympathize with his family for having to put up with that but I guess it comes with being a public figure. I am sorry to see him in that state and regretted not being able to shake his hand when he was alive. But the handshakes with his next of kin makes up for that. There were only two charities; one Michael… Read more »
Sorry, until what time is the wake? I can’t attend his funeral tomorrow.
I support LGE’s proposal for IJM Promenade in Seri Pinang to be renamed to Persiaran Karpal Singh.
I think he deserves more than that. A public servant who never coveted any titles. A more prominent road would be more fitting for his sacrifice.
After so much have said especially by the BN folks, don’t you think he deserve a state funeral. Funeral with state honours is no the same
Andrew, so sad, cant accept it…
Dear Andrew no one should hold their tongue on MH 370. But that’s for another page another topic and another day for another coloumn. Just because the Chinese are under suspicion having misbehaved (by Xinhua’s own admissions) in Malaysia and the Chinese navy and air force being un cooperative and a hindrance according to the US and Australia (in the South Indian Ocean) does not mean people should be quiet when there is something valid to say… As for Looes74 if that’s what he choses to be referred to, his comments are insensitive, uncalled for and blatantly ignorant at a… Read more »
Well, you should know a thing or two about being denigrating and disrespectful, describing him as sick and not Sikh. How insensitive is that?
What is it about race with you? If you want to be taken seriously, race shouldn’t even come into the equation. Karpal’s sad demise has been heartfelt across all racial and religious boundaries.
We all know how you love to generalize and dish out your conspiracy theories here. From your comments, it sounds like you lead a sad and bitter existence.
Who, in their right minds, would put up with you?
oops, typo. “sick and no Sikh”
We know how our friend likes to split hairs, too.
… your wit and prose are like you sensitivities and your “hairs”. Nothing to split there. Quite clearly the point is lost on you Andrew.
kumar, i think there is no need for that, loose74 is genuinely asking a question. Everyone is hurting and we are all at pain except those who are sick and insane like zulkifly noordin playing the almighty… As for me, i could not accept it why karpal when the nation still needs him so much while the wicked and all the scumbags are still roaming around happily ??? My consolation is our beloved karpal, the true son of the soil, the real patriot of the land has been spared the pain of facing those morons in the parliament… Mr Karpal,… Read more »
Kee, some morons who imagine other people running around naked in their countries can go on and on like the titanic.
Kumar,
Side track a bit! Sikh still believe the world begins with a big bang, true?
I gather you are sick and no Sikh from your comment at a time like this.
Like how you’re holding your tongue because of MH 370?
Spare us.
What the heck? Big Bang theory! That is what one sikh friend tells me. I think you are sick instead.
This is where the mish mash of misunderstood terms make a mockery of an otherwise solemn occasion. Sikhs do no have a wake. That’s an old Irish tradition. If you need a proper word for the occasion it is called a vigil. You keep a vigil over the remains before burial or cremation (in the late Karpal Sing’s case) In Sikhism death is considered a natural process. An event that has absolute certainty and only happens as a direct result of God’s Will or Hukam. To a Sikh, birth and death are part of the same inevitable cycle of life,… Read more »
Wake or vigil, it means the same thing. I think the service of this extraordinary man cuts across cultures.
It’s just that some like to think they know it all.
