Police swooped down and arrested six protesters at the Pecat IGP sit-in at Dataran Merdeka at 12.15am.
The sit-in had begun on 21 March, and yesterday DBKL warned the activists that they had to vacate the site midnight.
The six arrested, including Simpang Pulai state assembly member Tan Kar Hing and Teja state assembly member Chang Lih Kang, were then brought to the Jinjang police lock-up. The other four detained are Michael Tamil, Gan Zhi Mou, Chee Chu Sang and Yong Ming Chong. A lawyer was with them.
Before being taken to the lock-up, Chee had to be taken to the KL Hospital to be treated for injuries sustained.
Police are believed to be investigating the six under sections 186 and 188 of the Penal Code.
After the police left, the Pecat IGP banner was once again strung up, but police returned at 5.00am to remove it, according to the KitaLawan Facebook page.
Those arrested are expected to be brought to the Jalan Duta Magistrate’s Court at 2.00pm for a remand hearing.

IGP needs to do self reflection, why many do not like his way.
Possibly more protest is expected as GST is looming.
Our Kastam released a GST music video to soothe the nerves of public, hailing the virtues of implementing the GST?
It feels like the prelude to CHAOS..Anything goes wrong in this country, a crises, a big scandal and its going to be Chaos..We have a govt that is good at making excuses, negative politics and divide and rule. They don’t build the unseen things that binds a country or citizen with the govt. What they builds are physical things and some money.. They more they abuse the fabrics of nation and public trust, the bigger will be the problem when things go wrong..
They don’t get it and that is why it will happen.
