The Burma pro-democracy leader delivered her Nobel Peace Prize acceptance lecture in Oslo yesterday – 21 years after her son had received the award on her behalf – and received a prolonged standing ovation.
Suu Kyi’s son had accepted the award in 1991 on her behalf (see below) at a time when she was stuck in Burma.

Aung San Suu Kyi returned to Burma politics after years of unjust political imprisonment to lead the reform movement.
