The struggle is the Light

A spectacular sunset at Teluk Air Tawar: How long more will the public get to see this? - ANIL NETTO

Not infrequently, some wonder aloud if there is any hope for Malaysia. Is there light at the end of the tunnel? If we don’t see light at the end of the tunnel, is there any point in persisting with the struggle?

What if the darkness is so thick that it seems almost impenetrable?

The answer is yes, we must persist and persevere in the struggle for a more just Malaysia even when the night seems darkest. Why?

The struggle for reforms and the journey towards justice itself IS the light that awakens the people and gives them hope.

It takes only one candle to pierce the darkness. And so it is with us – just one voice speaking up for Truth and Justice is enough to shine a light in the darkness. Imagine if we had a dozen voices. Or what about a hundred voices, how dazzling would that light be.

This is why we must keep our focus on the journey and persist no matter what.

Import means licences, negotiating regulations and large trade amounts. Growing locally means few intermediaries, few regulations and small trade amounts.

We have many departments and ministries (Primary Industries, Rural Development), to promote agriculture. What is their benefit to our farmers? I saw a luxury bus owned by MARDI, transporting its own football team!

Palm oil, from Raw to Finish, is sourced and processed locally. So, what is the reason for the price to increase. This is a local product. Are we using western laborers ? Are we using top quality aviation fuel for transportation (for palm oil product)? Are the processing machineries made from precious metals? Or are people involved in sourcing, production, distribution and retail have a humongous greed for money, money, money.

This in turn may reduce the population on the island, lesser traffic movements to and fro to some extent etc. Penang island on the other hand is more a tourist island. That should be the Focus.
