Sarawak Report, Asia Sentinel websites unblocked!

A great day for press freedom in Malaysia in this new era: Sarawak Report and Asia Sentinel websites, which played a tremendous role in uncovering the scandals of the Najib Razak era, have both been unblocked and are now accessible in Malaysia.

Medium.com has also been unblocked.

Remember those words in the graphic above? How ironic that it took Mahathir to live up to them.

Those ardent die-hard readers of The Star will suddenly notice (possibly still adjusting) the 180-degree change in the reporting tone, now curry-flavouring Pakatan instead of decade long of senseless bashing. The Star hardly mentioned its master MCA in the last one week, after pages of glorifying MCA ads before GE14. Not sure what Joceline Tan and Wong Chun Wai will write on Sunday Star.

Majority of The Star ardent readers suddenly realized they have been reading skewed news for many many years. Jocelyn Tan has yet to write about his brother Tee Beng losing as independent candidate, and should have been franked with him not to waste money in GE14.

Tee Beng garnered miserable 303 votes, lost his Nibong Tebal deposit. Could be just a small s as he has (allegedly) inherited from rich father Tan Ghim Hwa (those day they called him Penang PekMoh).

Did Telcos Block Live Election Results During GE14?

SinarProject is convinced there’s a clear evidence of censorship on TM and Maxis network on the night of May 9. If MCMC was behind the blockade, they would need to explain why Malaysiakini’s undi.info was blocked.

MCMC has admitted, blamed it on complaints by certain people, likely BN folks, to delay GE results that night so that Jibby could broker a deal to buy Kedah and Sabah after 10pm?

Astounding! Condo search nets 72 bags of cash, jewellery and 284 boxes of handbags https://www.malaysiakini.com/news/425530 There are those who called for more humane way to treat an ex-PM. What about wait till the end of Ramadan before taking any action. After 30 days of inaction, the unbelievable amount of otherwise should have been seized suspected items may sooner ‘disappear’ into thin air! Sometimes, police have to deal with suspected crimes in ways that don’t meet eye to eye with ‘angelic hearts’. Of course there could be incriminating evidences & polis reports plus intelligence to warrant such swift urgent action. If… Read more »

Sarawak Report has been warned Malaysians should be prepared for the discovery that the vast sum of money found at Najib’s property in the KL Pavillion building (RM114) was merely petty, housekeeping cash, compared to what the lady of the house was storing in her various bank accounts over the years – billions of ringgit! This website already revealed back in 2015 how one Roslan bin Sohari had paid a total of RM2 million in cash, through eight separte transactions, into Rosmah’s Affin Bank account No-1000 2000 0058, between February and April 2015 alone. He had brought the money in… Read more »

Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) has to project a new and more aggressive image in six months’ time to attract more viewers, said new Communications and Multimedia Minister Gobind Singh Deo.

He said the change was necessary to ensure that the main television station was able to face healthy competition or even excel in comparison to private TV stations, including those at the international level.

He said the public had been complaining about the quality of broadband in Malaysia, which was far inferior to other developed countries.

Suppressing news, stifling internet freedom, refusing to work with international enforcement agencies , selective cherry picking persecution and prosecution , concealing crimes , abusing local enforcement agencies , drumming up racial issues, using religion , kissing up the palaces ETC…UMNO and BN done it all.
Welcome back to all the websites that was previously banned and blocked.
Anyway, the blockade is not effective as some of us are “IT genius” .
Hopefully this new govt is liberal. Only with liberty, Malaysia shall have a bright future.

A house in Seri Kembangan belonging to a high-ranking female officer, believed to be connected to former Prime Minister Najib, was raided over the weekend. According to Malaysia Decides, the woman, who was said to be the then head of a powerful intelligence unit – Malaysian External Intelligence Organisation – under the Prime Minister’s Department, went on leave pending a probe that Najib had handed her important documents two days before GE14. They also sealed two buildings in Putrajaya and Jalan Bellamy from where the unit operated. However, no documents were found. The top officer, backed by 300 personnel, reported… Read more »

Could this be the record US$223,000 pink crocodile Hermes Birkin bag that was auctioned in 2015? https://malaysia.yahoo.com/news/could-record-us-223-000-060146832.html In 2015, a fuchsia pink crocodile Hermes Birkin bag was auctioned off for a whopping US$223,000 (RM887,103) at Christie’s International Plc in Hong Kong. It was the most expensive handbag ever sold at an auction then. According to the Telegraph, all 10 bags sold at the auction with highest bids were bought by private Asian buyers. Gasping: RM887,103 for a pinky bag! Many poor in the kampung would have benefitted enormously with this sum of money! X2 for 2 pinky bags = RM1,774,206!… Read more »

Please focus on millions and billions, not petty amounts. This also applies to all scandals including Accountant-General’s Report. If a tool, appliance or food packet is sold at an exorbitant price, it should be followed up, but most of these crimes including CowGate are a distraction from the bigtime plunder. BTW, when will they get around to Semi-Value?
