Amirah’s Ali’s Sailing the Sahara nominated for SE Asian award

Amirah Ali has redone her video, which has been nominated for Best Music Video at VIMA 2013.

VIMA 2013 is considered the most important independent music awards in Southeast Asia (Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and Brunei). The event, now in its fourth instalment, will announce winners at an awards ceremony on 24 February 2012 at The View, G Tower, Kuala Lumpur.

Amirah released an earlier version of Sailing the Sahara on Youtube on the eve of Malaysia Day. “We’re the same no matter where we’re from,” she says.

“Happy Malaysia Day to my fellow Malaysians,” she adds.
