PH wins Kuala Kubu Bharu by-election

Media reports are saying it is a close call. Unofficial results here

But what does the by-election even mean to the ordinary voters?

Are the candidates addressing the real issues that matter to the people, from a multi-ethnic perspective (refer to the People’s Agenda)?

Or are they playing the same old game of racial politicking while calculating the percentages of ethnic Malays, Chinese, Indians and Orang Asli who will vote for them?

If it is the latter, we really haven’t moved forward, have we?

Singapore’s Lee Hsien Loong at 72 years of age has handed over the reins of power to a much younger Lawrence Wong at 51 years of ago to chart the next chapter in Singapore history. In Malaysia the leaders linger on past their shelf life and have to be removed and not step down voluntarily. Here in the 70s, 80, and even on their 90s stay on and some even want to be given a third chance. Ask Anwar who is 76 years now when does he plan to hand over power to a successor or does he even plan… Read more »

No, not wishing anything but if it happens, good for MCA, if it does not, no worries. MCA has many other things to work on like its education and health programs, and so on.

Clueless and pretentious supporters can continue with their support for their equally pretentious subservient political party in the current ruling government.

Singapore has limited natural resources. So, they have to improvise to survive.

Here we have natural coastal sea producing naturally variety of fishes and we have coastal fishermen to catch them.

But Mega minded so called smart state wants to destroy our natural food producing coastal sea for land reclamation to use artificial brick, mortar and concrete to build factories and whatever storage depots.

These the Penang people cannot see. And PIA expansion still hanging in the air.

Cultural differences behind Malay, Chinese fertility rate imbalance, says academic by Rex Tan dd 16 May 2024, 08:30 AM https://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/nation/2024/05/16/cultural-differences-behind-malay-chinese-fertility-rate-imbalance-says-academic/ ======== Is there a difference in attitudes towards childbirth and family planning influenced by religion and culture?  Possibly.  However, try implementing fair and equal policies in all aspects of our society, for all of our Rakyat, regardless of different communities including promoting inclusivity and diversity and see if the demographic makeup of our population changes or not – meaning whether all different communities will want to have more children or not.   Remember, religion and culture has been there for thousands of years.  Let’s stay focused on the… Read more »

What ? Condemning rockett? Rocket has become a subservient party, no question about that. What else can they be now?

Their ex leadership is now singing, reforms will take a very very long time. He says that reforms are a gradual process, not a revolution. But he or they ( PH coalition ) did not say that during their GE campaigning, did they?

Not possible these pretentious politicians not knowing about it since they have been in politics since the sixties.

“Don’t overinterpret KKB by-election results, says ex-DAP MP”
by FMT Reporters dd 14 May 2024, 10:55 AM

https://www.freemalaysiatoday.com/category/nation/2024/05/14/dont-overinterpret-kkb-by-election-results-says-ex-dap-mp/

========

“In a statement, former Bangi MP Ong Kian Ming said this would be a mistake as dissatisfaction with the government was “real and growing” among various segments of society.”

>>>  Very true. Our Rakyat do not have faith in both the present Opposition and the Ruling political parties and in how our Nation is presently being governed. And we Rakyat do not have a third credible political coalition to vote for ( for now ).

Credible means capable of achieving a goal, trustworthy, reliable, and believable.

It may be difficult, and perhaps even near impossible, maybe not achievable in this lifetime, but one must still try to be consistent and persistent in striving for a fair society.

Although reaching a utopia like ‘Shangri-La’ may not be possible, aiming for a reasonable level of happiness is worthwhile.

There is nothing wrong with making an effort. However, those who are stubborn (Stiff Head) and unwilling to change will find it extremely challenging to succeed.

So, it sounds silly when the Opposition comes up with this sort of excuses. It is just plain and simple that the Opposition were outwitted by the smooth operating PH… Read more »

PH is not doing great. Economy is struggling, PMX is seen as held at ransom to the whims and fancies of UMNO and perceived as selective in eradicating corruption. Voters are not happy. Despite that, minority voters do not have much option when considering PN as the alternative. KKB is one of the very few outlier constituency where the minorities have substantial block vote to keep PH in power. So, I wouldn’t consider this win as representative of PH as improved or made in roads in voters preference. PN’s racial and religious narrative is still a sellout in election constituency… Read more »

The PH victory should serve as a wake-up call for the Opposition Perikatan Nasional (PN) to stop using race and religion in elections to win over voters.

In the opposition, one member of the coalition has a, “I am a Malay first ” leader. The other member of the coalition is from the religious group. If you ask them to stop using race and religion, what else is there for them to talk about?

KKB was for the taking by the Opposition. Even this simple task they could not handle properly and effectively and win the by-election.
