Kedah state election predictions

Tonight, we will look at the upcoming Kedah state election.

In the 2018 state election, Pakatan Harapan won 18 seats out of the 36 seats (36.5% of the popular vote, including Bersatu’s 12.2% or five seats), Barisan Nasional picked up three (29.6%), and Pas won 15 seats (33.7%).

In the 2022 general election for Kedah parliamentary seats, PH’s share of the popular vote dropped to 23.3%, BN’s share dropped to 19.5% while Perikatan Nasional’s share soared to 55.0%.

Emen Jamal, the Tasik Gelugor PKR information chief, predicts that PH-BN will coast to victory with 26 of the 36 seats this time.

Abdul Rahman Kasim, the Tasik Gelugor Pas information chief, forecasts a PN triumph in the state, with the coalition bagging 30 of the 36 seats.

For my part, I predict a PN win in Kedah as it will be a big ask for PH-BN to overcome the 55% in popular support that PN enjoyed in last November’s general election.

What’s your prediction?

Difficult to go u turn for faithful followers, fearing afterlife repercussions. So even if so said Mboboiboy the poster boy, the status quo remains cruising without crucification to victory. Only after 4 years later at GE16 heavenly u turn somehow ‘dipermudahkan’.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim today announced an increase to the padi price subsidy scheme (SSHP) rate from RM360 to RM500 per tonne on all padi production, effective tomorrow.

Anwar said, with the increase, padi farmers will receive at least RM1,700 per tonne of the padi they produce, thus giving them more revenue.

Sanusi claimed there was data that showed that non-Muslims make up the majority of those arrested for giving and receiving bribes.

This is as seditious as claiming that only Muslims (who makes up a majority of the civil service) ask for bribes.

Sanusi has made one comment too many. He thought he could get away with just writing a letter of apology the Sultan. It is one thing to apologise and quite another for the aggrieved party to accept the apology. This it could be the end of the road politically for Sanusi. Do not forget Sanusi has previously offended TMJ of Johor too.

Has PDRM taken action against Sanusi’s personal “senior police officer” whom he kept in constant touch with him from “11 malam sampai 2 pagi”, while half of Bukit Aman was trying to trace the rogue minister? Nothing? Semua berjalan dengan lancar?

Also, is there a ‘customizable arrest’ option made available for the public? Well, Sanusi said he was providing his preference and placing order with the “senior police officer” on HOW HE WOULD PREFER TO BE ARRESTED.

What’s the point of having a Minister Big who talks big and is often at loggerhead with the federal government?

https://m.malaysiakini.com/columns/673460

I guess the easy answer is: lost. We have lost the dominant national narrative of who we were, who we are, who we want to be, and what we believe in.

What we are seeing today is the willful and destructive tearing apart of Malaysia’s social fabric by politicians who only care about getting or staying in power.

Mariam Mokhtar is far more prominent and dare to speak out the reality than the so-called G25 ‘elites’.

Quotes:
The phrase “secularism means being anti-religion” is frequently peddled by the conservatives.

Today, the conservative Muslims with their own interpretation of Islam have become the new colonial masters, who divide and rule, whilst ignoring the valuable lessons of the past.
Religious extremism affects everyone, both Malays and non-Malays, and it is the responsibility of the government to start the new secularism narrative, instead of making more excuses – MARIAM MOKHTAR

PM Anwar wants voters to deliver a message that would signal their backing for a new multiracial political compact championed by his fledgling administration, which is led by his Pakatan Harapan coalition.

It is a big ask, particularly at a time when the opposition Malay parties are doubling down on claims that the community is at risk of losing their political clout, which could result in economic marginalisation. What is more, Mr Anwar’s opponents are arguing that multiculturalism is a direct threat to the status of Islam as the country’s official religion.

PM Anwar has revealed that 81% of EPF contributors will not have sufficient savings to live above the poverty line after they retire.

As of December last year, only 19% EPF contributors have reached the basic savings level based on their age to enable them to have RM240,000 in savings by 55 years old.

RM50,000 can only provide retirement income of about RM208 a month for a period of 20 years.

Anwar advised the people not to allow racial enmity to jeopardise the country’s peace and harmony.

“I went through many years of ups and downs, if I am seen as not doing enough, I will fix this in due time. I am not saying that when Anwar becomes prime minister, everything will be perfect. No, there will be issues. But I am not ready to compromise when it comes to stealing the country’s wealth and allowing corruption to thrive in our country,”

DAP under Loke is smart to keep low key and quiet. Unfortunately NiaoKong continues to bark … instead of retiring in protest like Ronnie Liu.

NiaoKong has been programmed by his father to protest as opposition despite DAP and his sister is now in goverment. Maybe it is a hard wiring and program is irreversible?

PDRM revised its SOP after the Memali incident. Difficult to execute Gerak Khas if the target has retreated to rural kampung with many die-hard followers providing human shield.

Far-fetched, In this case, the suspect was staying at a hotel.

Obviously you are too young to know the Memali incident. Go check up Wikipedia.

I predict a complete drubbing for the Madani government. PAS and Bersatu combo will obliviate the PH/BN axis and this time PN will get an even higher % of votes. For all the goodies (aka electoral bribes) that PMX dangles at the Kedahans will all be in vain.

What good would PN do to our nation?

Have you ever ask or you prefer to answer this in your afterlife?
