The reason? According to fz.com, PKR Kedah vice-chairman Gooi Hsiao Leung said:
… there was a complaint from Barisan Nasional (BN) that our banners were offensive. When we pressed further regarding what was so offensive about our banners, they couldn’t provide us with an answer.
“Look, the banner is just our candidate, Kak Wan (Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail) crying and praying with a picture of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in the background. It has the words: “You’ll never walk alone” on it.”…
When contacted, Election Commission chairman Tan Sri Abdul Aziz Mohd Yusof told fz.com that the reason the officers removed the banners could be due to the fact that Anwar’s face was also there, together with Dr Wan Azizah.
“Only the candidate’s face can be in the banner. Pictures of non-candidates cannot appear on election material,” said Abdul Aziz.
What do you think? Is this fair?

Anil,
Any report or comment on the recent demand from Bersih for EC to clean up its act?
Hi Stylo, let me check it out. But I don’t expect much from our Election Commission.
The EC … just learned the English Idiom `OUT of sight, out of mind!’ hoping by removing the pictures and images of KakWan & her husby, the voters will likele forget who to Vote! Jus ostriches w their heads in the sands . Not much to hope for this Nation, when thats about the sizes of these BN Macais brains!
And dodnt be surprise

Niot an issue of fairness
Hold this man to his words
And dont let him get away with double standards
Btw i have yet to find a fair ec honcho
Can u then blame the perception that ec is just an appendage of bn?
No amount of denial will change the perceptin unless the ec walks the talk
In GE13, photographs of the PM were plastered all over the country even though he contested only in Pekan. One Malaysia flags, in BN blue and ostensibly paid for by the government, were everywhere and PSY came to Penang and shared the stage with Najib as if he was a candidate. EC is more than fair to the incumbents in PutraJaya Jaya.
Other BN … WHO are NOT even candidates (unless they are … of CMF) appered in a banner too & WE must have that removed too … as they are equally offensive – bunch of dirty lying and cheatings …! The lawas of this Democratic country do NOT favout Barisan (minority … govt. People how are UNpopular MUST know their place in the voters minds & hearts…. aku Melyu pun nak muntah dan meluat! JAHAT mencuri dan menipu Rakyat – mereka senang lenang Rakyat dibeban macam kesusahan.. Sekarang … dengan kehilangan MH370 yg meunkin dah terbakar (bawak bateri lithium-ion (mudah… Read more »
UMNObaru/BN takut! Taking down posters or not, can they win? They can continue dreaming and wake up from their dreams tomorrow by 7pm.
Even uncle Yang don’t fancy his political masters chances, or you can read all his comments during his PR days. Uncle Yang a turncoat!
You bet PR Kak Wan majority will be slashed by at least 3000 over votes
EC should note that the real threat to national security if the failure of TUDM radar in detecting intruding planes on real time basis, not the banners in Kajang!
Trying to get sympathy votes
This is the interpretation of the Umno appointed EC who is very mindful of his extension of his position is in the hands of the Umno schmucks. Needless to say that that anything and everything he has to say must be must be in favour of the schmucks in Umno …. Also if he wishes to have his term in office be extended, period or if he his due to retire he wants to retire in the good books of those who appointed him in the first place. Do you need more proof of him being a lackey of Umno ?
