BN’s vote share only rose from 40% to 43% in Johor election

A fractured opposition allowed the 'court cluster' to claim victory

Barisan Nasional may have captured 40 out of the 56 state seats in the Johor state election.

But it was the fractured opposition that allowed the BN to claim victory. It has also raised the hopes of the ‘court cluster’ and their supporters, who are anxious to hasten the next general election in their bid to keep the key players out of the slammer.

Take a look at the popular vote (%):

BN 43.1 (2018 = 40.4)

PH 26.4 + Muda 3.5 = 29.9 (2018 = 56.7)(2018 excluding Bersatu = 41.2)

PN 24.0 (2018 Bersatu = 15.6) Full article on Aliran website

Nice try Sir, this ” nothing to fear if they are governed by a Malay party, LIKE PEJUANG ” but it just won’t work. You had 22 years and 22 months. We think that is more than enough for us. The Rakyat would like to move on. We would like to see others take over and govern the nation. More younger with fresh ideas etc etc etc.  At the same time, we are grateful to you for introducing the Internet to us Rakyat. It has been very very helpful. Thank You. ========= NOTHING TO FEAR BEING GOVERNED BY MALAY PARTIES, SAYS… Read more »

Harapan needs to retake narrative from ‘de facto opposition’ Najib – Rafizi

https://youtube.com/watch?v=-vu3CVLF1xs&feature=youtu.be

“I think what has been missing so much (from Harapan) in the last two to three years was the ability to connect on a day-to-day basis with voters. To make matters worse, that ability has been hijacked by Najib.

Malaysian workers get pay hike (via higher min wage) with the rise of inflation.

Singapore workers get pay hike with the rise in productivity and skill upgrading.

Pay rise without productivity improvement will cause higher inflation due to higher cost of operation. SME can hire Lee people, get those workers to multitask since they already get higher pay!

6B == This MADNESS with all things Dato’Najib by your PH opposition people could have been the real cause of your election losses. Did it not ever occur to your PH opposition people that the Rakyat has been suffering from the Covid 19 epidemic since the beginning of 2020 and still are, followed quite recently by a disastrous major flooding in many states. The impact of these 2 major disastrous event caused the loss of many of RAKYAT lives, untold suffering etc, and all your opposition people did was talked about was Dato’ Najib in their election campaign.  So, as… Read more »

Najib: “If Sapura goes bankrupt, 10.6 million Amanah Saham Bumiputera investors will suffer direct losses of RM4 billion. PNB, the Employees Provident Fund and other provident funds will face indirect losses due to debts of RM10 billion owed to local banks, such as Maybank, of which PNB owns 50%”

According to a report, if Putrajaya decides to help cover Sapura’s billions of debt, this could ‘backfire’ as Malaysians have become cognisant of corruption in the wake of the 1MDB scandal.

It is not just the Malays tolerating corruption. Unfortunately corruption in Malaysia is common. [Some allegedly try] to bribe the police for traffic offenses. {Some] businesses yes chinese ones too [allegedly] try to bribe bomba during fire inspections. There are many examples

So if the public engage in corruption is it so puzzling that politicians do too?

In one consituency, it is the MP that (a) organised food aid during the lockdown (b) is constantly reminding the town council to spend just RM16 million to tackle floods – by clearing drains monthly instead of once in 6 months – and to spend some similar amount on potholes. Trees pose a danger to electricity cables and even houses, but are only trimmed once in about 10 years.

Wherever a town council or GLC refers the ordinary citizen to a contractor. Most of the time, the town councillors and state reps are invisible. When there is a crisis, some first reponder department alerts them, and they turn up for the photo opportunity, compete with vague promises.

Prices for CKD (locally assembled) cars will increase by between 8-20% if new excise duty regulations are put in place, due to a change in methodology of how the open market value (OMV) of a vehicle is calculated.

Pakatan Harapan and PKR have become the least preferred choice of Malay voters, particularly fence-sitters who opted to vote for BN and PN over the opposition in the recently concluded Johor election, said former Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli.

Therefore, the political parties on both side of the divide should not or must not take the Rakyat for granted. It is we the RAKYAT who are voting you in to Govern our Nation every 5 years.

Lastly and hopefully, BN/UNMO will disband its Muafakat Nasional arrangement and drop its alliance with the religious political party and again hopefully, Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan ( TOK MAT ) will become the next UMNO Party President and take the Barisan Nasional to the next level. The Nation awaits.

5B The Rakyat still remembers the Covid 19 suffering they went through since the beginning of 2020 and they probably won’t forget about it for a long time to come, followed by the flooding in 2021/22, a ‘double whammy’ which took many lives and destroyed many homes.  Furthermore, the Rakyat today are unlike the Rakyat of yesterday. Today, the Rakyat are more politically savvy, coupled with the fact that we are now living in a Digital Age, the Rakyat are now also digitally savvy and are digitally connected. They should by now know that General Election in a democratic country is held every 5 years. Elected political parties serving as nation’s government can be voted out if they do not perform as promised or as mandated. An example is the 2018 Opposition winning of GE14, then foolishly losing the mandate in just 22 months and every by election thereafter. The punishment given by the… Read more »
