Which is the bigger ‘national embarrassment’?

I am not sure which is the bigger “national embarrassment”.

That this convicted criminal can talk with a straight face about 1MDB in Parliament? (Who does he think he’s kidding? Gullible voters?)

Or that some people are giving him celebrity treatment in the Johor state election campaign and (still) calling him their “boss”?

And the Speaker gives him an extra three minutes because of “gangguan” (interruptions)? Art, Art…

What an upside-down world we live in.

The government still needs to make up for the shortfall of funds of RM17 billion for the purpose of settling the principal and interest on 1MDB’s debt of RM38.8 billion for the period of 2022 to 2039.

Right now, is the Parliament, Independent, Neutral or Not ? It looks like its speaker is appointed by whoever is the ruling government , so as with the AG office and other law enforcement agencies etc, etc, etc..

Even when the Pakatan Harapan coalition won the 2018 election, they roped in TMM to be their coalition leader and continued with his legacy. After losing the people’s mandate, the opposition party supremo was shouting about reset and reset but did not bother to do it when they were the ruling government. WHY ?

WHICH IS THE BIGGER ‘ NATIONAL EMBRASSMENT ‘ 3 Mar 2022

========

In our opinion, it is neither. Dato’ Najib is simply a product of the system of governance left behind by a PM who had govern the nation for 22 years.

The biggest national embarrassment should be the dismantling of the separation of powers, that is the three independent branches of a democratic government which is the legislative, the executive, and the judiciary branch by which these 3 branches of government do not infringe upon each other’s constitutionally vested powers.

Reply to ” Ma DaBao dd 12 Mar 2022 2.43pm” There was an ancient scholar by the name of Zhuangzi (369-298 BCE) who once said, “The frog in the well knows nothing of the sea.”  Its a story of a frog who had always lived in his well. He believed his well to be all that existed. He was then visited by a sea turtle who told him of the great ocean. Upon hearing this, the frog realized he had a very limited view of the world. Meaning – We must be modest about the extent of our experiences. What… Read more »

P3b As the old township expands with new townships, the old drainage system needs to be upgraded. New townships drainage system should be bigger as with other projects’ drainage system. The planning of the drainage system should be systematic for continues flow of water. So, the question arises. Maybe its time, Barisan Nasional be voted in as State Government and take charge of… Read more »

FLOODS – WAS IT RAIN OR BAD DRAINS ? By DORAIRAJ NADASON /
Friday, 11 Mar 2022

========

Planning without thinking, projects and new townships without giving proper consideration to drainage system could possibly be the reason why there has been continuous flooding taking place. Old townships with broken drains, clogged drains, too small or inadequate to cope drains, new townships or maybe also new projects with cement waste and other rubbish dumped into drains by developer’s workers ( Not sure how they get their OC approved ) etc, etc, etc.

I think post Covid Singapore government will regulate number of daily entry of Malaysian workers, many in the past are without valid work permit. These people shuttling the causeway daily causing jam. About time for the Johor state government to work with The Royalty to have proper strategies to create jobs (inviting more foreign investment). But Johoreans must be efficient when work locally although they can work doubly hard in Singapore!
