This morning I bumped into a retired veteran politician and we got to chatting about current developments over a cup of coffee.
Top of the list of talking points was the resignation and U-turn by Yip Sun Onn, the Perlis State Assembly member for Titi Tinggi. Yip reportedly retracted his resignation from the assembly in a text message to the Perlis Speaker last night.
The veteran politician sounded perplexed and bewildered at what had happened. From all his years in politics, he had always understood that once a resignation letter was handed over to the Speaker, the Speaker had to declare the seat vacant and inform the Election Commission, whose duty it was to conduct a by-election. He had never heard of a retraction. Neither had most of us. Just goes to show how terrified they are of by-elections these days.
Sipping coffee, he also expressed dismay at what was happening at the Penang Botanic Garden, which he said should have been left untouched.
As for the current political situation, he felt that Pakatan, embroiled in its own internal politicking, should be thankful that the BN is shooting itself in the foot with all its blunders.
This, he found bewildering as you would have thought the BN leaders would want to maintain their grip on power – at least out of self-interest and self-preservation. But with all their excesses, ill-timed statements and actions of late, they seem to be undermining their own position.
Who exactly is advising them? Don’t they know what political impact their statements and actions are having?

BN – banyak negative. SO gerakan k – gerakan koyak oka?
Blantant disregard to the Malaysian public, who are actually the boss of these two dudes (speaker included).
On another note, surprised at the recent Merdeka Poll which found an alarming percentage of Chinese who believe that MCA is still relevant!?
Perhaps, the Chinese educated community who run their own enterprise, have no problems about eeking out a living like others who are struggling like the Malay adage :kais pagi makan pagi, kais petang makan petang”!
Funny, thought we are doing away with race based parties, but this revelation is something to say the least.
Since you can divorce by SMS, why cant he retract his resignation by SMS? – Such must be the warped logic of UMNO/BN
This country can only improve if ordinary Malaysians voiced their opinions or disgusts. If you call that attack, that is fine too. If they are not attacked then they will think we are stupid and are swallowing all their lame excuses. For the stupid ones in the administration that have no brain power, they will equate being silence as everything is hunky-dory.
Blooming good choice I made, to vamoose from this “Animal Farm”!…. I did’nt get bananas…hope you won’t too, my friend Anil!
p/s BN Men on clutches are eternally grateful to their political masters for the handsome handouts they enjoyed….
Anil, Pakatan wanted a by-election and God has granted their wish, though not sure Anwar going to like it a bit. Now this going to be a lotsa fun. And I think this is going to be referendum on sodomy, failure to conduct local elections, devious plots to link the PM to murders, etc. ==================================================== Hulu Selangor MP Dr Zainal Abidin dies PETALING JAYA: The Member of Parliament for Hulu Selangor Datuk Dr Zainal Abidin Ahmad of PKR died at 9.27pm Thursday at his home at Batu 9 1/2, Jalan Cheras, Kajang due to brain cancer, according to his younger… Read more »
Hi Gerakan K, Anil is not attacking BN for the sake of attacking. He is trying to expose what has gone wrong in the country and I believe he will have no qualm about doing the same to the Pakatan should they behave like the current BN. I am of the opinion that BN still has a big role to play in the country but not in its present form that is corrupt, arrogant, idiotic and short-sighted. It will have to change for the better. However, this will not occur unless it is toppled as a government. only then, i… Read more »
Have you not heard. Whom the gods would destroy they first make mad. Don’t you think this is the case here?
Waiting for Gerakan K to give his piece.
Indeed, in this case the EC and Speaker seemed to be playing along with each other.
hello blog owner
1) why you always attack BN ???
2) for me, I must thank BN for its new achievement to bring high speed broadband (HSBB)(5, 10, 20 mbps packages available now) aka Unifi to us.
3) there was cost effective package announced yesterday for student starting from RM30
4) I tested Unifi yesterday and its speed really super fast
Hallo! Bro, how are you, long time no see?
When will the HSBB be available? Immediately?
Cheers!
Yes, you can sign up now. But for now this service is limited to few areas ie Bangsar, Shah Alam, Subang Jaya, Taman Tun Dr Ismail. If you in Penang, you have to wait 2/3 years (if I not mistaken. I was too busy in that day testing the service). Check the service website at unifi.my
Hello bruder. Singapore’s internet is still 5 times faster than us. If you didn’t notice, Anil attacks both PR and BN. Didn’t you notice the political bickering within both parties? But then again, it’s down to who makes more mistakes.
And this is a democracy. You have the right to attack PR as do we have the right to attack BN as well. So yes, go ahead, make yourself loud. ;P And, you still haven’t apologised for misleading info about the collapsed stadium in Terengganu. ;P Peace.
Come on! Gerakan K. Did you ever see I attack BN? No need lah! BN will die naturally without any attack.Stupid is what stupid do!
Kampung Hero is as what Kampung Hero does.
Why are YOUR eyes not open to the lies, deceit, corruption, selective persecution, above the law attitude, misuse & abuse of power…. of UMNO & it’s lackey, BN.
BTW, are you trying to sell kampung broadband? Use your broadband & google how fast Singapore/Australia/Korea/US/UK broadbands are. Oh, I forgot. GerakanK is … under the coconut shell that lives in an isolated kampung, where UMNO is the kampung hero who is revered by all. The global village according to UMNO is a myth. Only UMNO kampung matters.
sigh sigh sigh malasia boleh, apa pun boleh…
