Young people lead climate change protest at Penang Esplanade

This was the protest at the Esplanade in Penang on Saturday evening, 21 September – in the middle of the smog that has blanketed the region.

It is obvious that many adults don’t care about what kind of world they leavebehind. For them it is all about business as usual and growth and and FDI – never mind the environmental implications.

And so it up to the young people to take the lead and sound the alarm over climate change.

But they are not amused by adult inaction and apathy. Listen to young climate activist Greta Thunberg: “You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words – and yet I am one of the lucky ones. People are suffering, people are dying, entire ecosystems are collapsing. We are in the beginning of a mass extinction, and all you can https://epilepsy.wales/zithromax-online talk about is money and fairy tales of eternal economic growth. How dare you!” Watch her full speech.

Climate change drastically so more important to have sustainable hill preservation and to have minimal physical development of Penang Hills so that all whether riich or poor can enjoy the natural beauty.

East coast of Penang, the coastline being designated for IJM development in exchange for the Jelutong highways. Some parts of coastlines are now exclusive for the gated community of expensive condos, only private access even Anil and myself are barred.

The National House Buyers Association (HBA) has likened the Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association’s (Rehda) focus on luxury properties to trying to sell “nasi quinoa lemak with wagyu beef” but later found that people won’t buy them.

This came after Rehda dismissed HBA’s criticism that developers were building luxury properties that locals do not need, using the analogy that they will not sell nasi lemak that people don’t want as it will become stale.

Both are wrong. Malaysians’ priorities are buying personal cars, not homes.

If you read the latest issue of print edition of The Edge, our current pension scheme of civil service is a big financial burden to our nation.

Need to revamp the outdated pension scheme else we will go bankrupt later! So no need for civil service to hire those unemployed graduates like before!

2 straight days of sudden storms that brought unexpected torrential rain & high speed wind in the afternoon on Tuesday & Wednesday. Part of Anson Road was flooded on Wed which saw rain coming down like buckets of water pouring onto car windscreens which rendered driving visibility unsafe. It rained for less than 15 minutes.
Yesterday (Wed) I was parking my vehicle in an alley to wait out the storm & my car was ‘pushed’ by the howling winds even with handbrake on. It rained for about 30 minutes.
The coming afternoons are cautioned for the expected unexpected.

Certain people still think Eagles’ “Hotel California” refers to satanic church established in 1969 in a hotel in California, with reference to the lyrics that wine (holy spirits) was not served there since 1969, a place that you can check in but never check out (no redemption).

The Church of Satan connection Perhaps the wildest yarn spun about Hotel California is the myth that the LP was some sort of love letter to Satan — especially the title song, with one theory citing mentions of “the master’s chambers” and “the beast” as references to infamous Church of Satan founder Anton LaVey. Perhaps the creepiest coincidence giving weight to the theory is in the photo on the inside gatefold of the original vinyl. There, if you look above the crowd surrounding the Eagles to the balcony, you’ll see a shadowy figure who appears to be dressed in a… Read more »

Young buyers are urged to buy properties within their budget rather than delaying their purchases to reach certain income to buy their dream houses.

“If you delay buying a house till you can afford it, the housing prices will appreciate. But I would recommend people to buy a house that they can afford instead of a house they ideally want to stay in,”

This is the latest spin or waffling to distract from the lack of effective, substantial, coordinated and urgent action on CC. Compare it to the earlier green-washing, including CSR, by major businesses. It keeps the masses vagely occupied on this topic. We could compare the cynical publicity for the children’s protests to that for a pious religious procession. In any case, the plunder will go on: debt, corruption, destruction, exploitation, violence, poisoning, cheating, sales, profits, etc. — in a cycle “for ever and ever”. Otherwise, as Prof. Michael Hudson emphasises, the whole house of cards will collapse, at least for… Read more »
