Contractor demolishes structures on govt land?

A cowshed located on what is believed to be government land next to the site of the flattened Kg Buah Pala was demolished by private contractors this afternoon.

The contractors are believed to be linked to the developer of the Buah Pala land, Nusmetro.

A journalist and another eye-witness contacted me and raised the question: why is a private contractor demolishing structures believed to be standing on government land (state or federal?), when government officials are nowhere to be seen?

Some 200 cows and goats are now wandering around the site.

Just look at the PKFZ issue and it’s all very clear. Look at KHIR TOYOL – BUT SOPMEHOW WE MALAYSIANS ARE STILL BLIND.WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER MENTRI BESAR’S-IT WONT BE TOO LATE WHEN THEIR MISDEEDS ARE EXPOSED. KG.… Read more »

The never ending story of KBP…… This thing would happen over & over again I believe LGE & its government has taken this so called fallout seriously. Though I felt that the matter has been close & this case has been over emphasied over & over again Anil, Lets close the matter. The court has ruled in favour of developer. The residents decided to move. I have my doubts on Sugu By the way, 3 Gorges Dam led to flooding of cities & migration of people on affected area. As much as I am aginst it, any chance the Communist… Read more »

so are you saying God is wrong by putting animals on earth? Streets belong to humans only? May it be Punjab or anywhere in the world. God owns the world. Humans cant stake claim of it. God had put animals on earth, its their right to move around freely as they like.

The area may be just outside of the old demarcation of Georgetown. However, under the previous BN government, the whole island was unified under MPPP as far as local authority is concerned.

If someone destroys your property, you report to the police and take legal action in court to recover your loss. I believe this was roughly what the developer’s executive director Thomas Chan told Malaysiakini. He also told the reporter that the land belongs to the Penang civil servants’ cooperative society.

Yeah Mr Singh, she might be a milk drinker but I am sure she does not own any cows doing their thing (wandering around) as you say. Neither do I. Most of us are in this category. Oh, and humans put them there. God had little to do with it. It is expected for the owners of these wandering livestock to have control over their animals (even if the idiot thinks shopping at Gurney is an option). Even in kampungs a stray cattle trampling your patch is enough to cause an argument or an altercation. It seems cows wandering in… Read more »

If I am not mistaken, that area is outside of MPPP. Most likely it would be under Daerah Timur Laut. So your best bet would be to contact the Pejabat Daerah Timur Laut to ask these questions.
