The Judge had ruled that the Speaker could only be represented by the state legal adviser and not the PR lawyers.

From The Edge website:

2.55pm: Perak speaker sent letter to JC Ridwan Ibrahim stating he has not authorised state legal advisor Ahmad Kamal to act on his behalf

2.15pm: Lawyers for Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir are already at the Ipoh High Court studying legal points ahead of a hearing for an application of injunction to stop further meetings of the Perak state assembly. The hearing in the chambers of JC Ridwan Ibrahim is scheduled to start at 2.30pm.

Lawyer Tommy Thomas reveals what transpired in the Judges chambers this morning. Check out the Aliran website here.

Dear Anil:

It is surprising that the Higher Eceholon of the Judiciary
is sitting with folded hands and watching; they have the
right to come out with the proper statements. This can be under
the PUBLIC INTEREST. But do they want to do it. In cases like
Perak, in India, the Judiciary will act on its own under the public
interest.

Here I do not know whether the Judiciary will act on its own.
Here they will say that the people should go to them with injunctions. Surprising.

Anil,hello.

This posting does not have anything to do with this thread but is a request for your assistance.

I have just read the Malaysiakini article on A Kugan’s post-mortem report and watched the accompanying video of lawyer Mr Surendran exposing the damning medical evidence.

I can only imagine the horrific suffering this poor murdered man must have undergone in those five unimaginably long days when he was at the mercy of those … who wore those professional PDRM uniforms and carried out this unforgivable torture and murder.

Regards.

Hi everyone,

Ruling that the Perak Speaker can only be represented by the State Legal Adviser, when the State Legal Adviser has already been ‘hijacked’ to represent the MB Dr Zambry and his (team) on the other side?

How’s the State Legal Adviser to represent two opposing parties? This is really MALAYSIA BOLEH! The foreign mass media would have a field day commenting on this …! Of course, our local mass media would continue to twist and spin the absurd situation!

I don’t really know whether I should laugh or cry!!

Dr Zambry is seeking an injunction from the High Court here to stop “all unlawful assembly sittings” by Pakatan Rakyat

But that is only true if you can prove that the assembly sittings are unlawful in the first place. Since Siva is the legitimate Speaker, his calling of the assembly meet is legitimate, and lawful.

i wonder when the rape of our constitution will stop…i wonder when would people stop helping those who are raping our constitution…i wonder what is in the mind of those who are tried to justify the rape of our constitution…i wonder how would these people sleep tight at night…i wonder whether these people are publicity seekers who put self interest above the constitution…i wonder what this people feel when they are defending a rape that happened before their very eyes…i wonder whether the next generation of our lawyers have actually lost their way….i wonder what holds in the future for… Read more »

If only government lawyer allowed to represent Speaker, does that mean the court still recognize Speaker to be the government? So what is the problem here now?

These BN lawyers looks young and beaming, cause they’re on the winning side. They have the entire might of the BN working on their behalf.

But whether their upright lawyers with sound legal knowledge remains to be seen.

The difference between the lawyers of BN & Pakatan Rakyat is that those lawyers from Pakatan look like some AGED … who can’t even put food into their own mouth.

Where else, lawyers from BN looks so SHARP, INTELLIGENT & CONFIDENT

———————————————————–

Who is he to do this? Is he qualify? Does he have the power or authority to say such things? Nobody in Perak voted for him in the first place. Such attitude can only be arrogant like where he came from.

Can someone enlighten me on this? Thanks
