The developer for the Oasis project, Nusmetro, says the High Chaparral villagers have until 2 Aug to leave the land, according to a media source. The developer is drawing a firm line in the sand.
The uncertainty over the fate of the Oasis project appears to have unnerved those interested in the condos. Check out their latest comments on this property website here.

nkkhoo,
No one in this forum is asking for KTK’s blood.
We are only asking for an explaination on the gaping valuation difference between the price sold to the developer and what LGE is saying is the real market value of the land.
As for your intellect, let’s just say that it is plain for all to see.
“Greedy tenants who do not have legal land ownership looking for a “bigger” cut.” nb: That may be so but are you so sure that the tenants are being greedy as opposed to merely, and rightfully, fighting for their rights and their survival? These long-established sitting tenants have rights of beneficial ownership to their homes in KBP as it is on housing trust land which the legal owner TRUSTEE had no right to alienate and dispose off without first: (i) obtaining the consent of all current KBP sitting tenants; (ii) ensuring adequate alternative and acceptable housing provision was made for… Read more »

The Truth on July 3rd, 2009 at 5.17pm nkkhoo, Finding a solution to this fiasco and seeking an accountability from the previous CM are two separate issues. The fact that you can’t or won’t understand the difference speaks volume of your intellect. I leave the first to our political leaders, the second, like many Penangites, we are still wondering just how much longer KTK can pretend as if nothing is happening in that Indian village. === Personal attack on my intelligenc prove nothing except showing your true gangsterism color. nkkhoo on July 3rd, 2009 at 2.32pm === IF LGE is serious about CAT, he should reported this case to MACC and initiated legal action against previous government instead of sit and watch the solo show performed by villagers. IF LGE is so useless as KSK, he shall just resign and stop blaming people like me did nothing to do his job. === Wait a minute.. I thought a report was already lodged with MACC? and BTW, the state has no locus standi in a private (allegedly) fraudulent transaction. It was the villagers who should sue the govt. Again.. David on July 3rd, 2009 at 12.16am I should start taking some sticks and strings to mark all the empty lands in Penang with my name. But again, the DAP promised too much during the earlier GE. I was there when the PKR guy say “if we win Penang during the GE, Penangites will not need to pay to use the Penang bridge…”. No wonder Koh Tsu Koon has no need to utter a word on all this.
He has apologists like nkkhoo to open their mouths on his behalf.
What is wrong with asking for an accoutability from KTK ? It is not as if the commentators here are asking for him to solve the problem.
God is fair, given everyone 24 hours of time. I am not prejudice but you look at things like LGE is a fool hardy and not getting to bottom of the problem. People in Kg Buah Pala are NOT squatters… They have been there before independence, they developed the land, they made this land valueable… only thing they don’t have is a legal land title… This is because of the unjust law that sided the rich and against the poor… Transferring the land by BN government to the GREEDY crony developer is a betrayal to the people and BN has to bear most of the blame… and for Pakatan rakyat Government, it has to show its courage to defend the people and break ranks with those developers who only concern about profit… Read more »

LGE and his gang are incapable to handle this issue profesisonally. Since they are only good as opposition party, not as a governing party. I would like to give some free advices to LGE. First solution: Exercise the power of CM to take back the land and return the land to villagers. If this option cannot be done, we demand a detailed explanation with risk analysis, facts and hard figures. His office boy said RM30 million and someone else from state government said 150 milion is needed to buy back the land. This sort of inconsistency statement is bad for… Read more »
