PSM’s Arul arrested, taken to Dang Wangi

PSM secretary general Arul has just been detained, believed to be under the Sedition Act. He has been brought to the Dang Wangi Police Station.

This sort of action is not going to enhance the credibility of the administration.

No, Dr. Jeya, there are other considerations such as planning the operasi (work), obertaim, travel claims, more justification for vehicles, and stats (KPI).

Police arrested Adam Adli Abdul Halim in downtown Kuala Lumpur today after the student activist gave a speech at a protest in support of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in front of the Sogo department store, the scene of many such protests 17 years ago.

Dr Michael Jeyakumar said last night that such “heavy handed” police action was unnecessary as they only had to request S. Arutchelvan to present himself to the police station to explain his allegedly seditious remarks. The jailing Arul overnight was unnecessary as he and PSM were willing to cooperate with police investigations.
