While most people’s attention was focused on the Anwar verdict, UPSI has suspended student activist Adam Adli for three semesters, according to lawyer Fadiah Nadwa.

Fadiah said she received a text message from students accompanying Adam for the disciplinary hearing at UPSI. The proceedings lasted about an hour. Student activists from Penang are believed to have travelled down to lend moral support to Adam.

Meanwhile, there is a heavy police presence at UPSI, she added.

Adam landed in hot soup after he lowered a flag with Najib’s picture on it at the Umno headquarters in PWTC and replaced it with a students’ movement banner.

So much for the ‘reformist’ credentials of the Najib administration. Whatever ‘feel-good’ factor for the BN’s ‘reforms’ after the Anwar verdict would surely evaporate now.

They never learn, do they?

A VernonAE tweeted, “Looks like UPSI just gave @AdamAdli a one-year sabbatical to garner youth support for PR. One step forward three steps back.”

Meanwhile, Azmin Ali is expected to lead a convoy of cars from KL to the Seberang Jaya expo site for a PKR ceramah tonight.
