Malaysia has lost one of its deep thinkers on global issues. T Rajamoorthy from Third World Network, based in Penang, has passed away after a period of illness.

A socialist by orientation since his school days, he was a PSRM member in the 1970s and editor of Mimbar Sosialis. Full piece on Aliran website

GEORGE TOWN: Chicken rice seller Ong Eng Kim slashed the price of his standard plate of chicken rice by about 40% – from RM5 to RM3 – and now he gets long lines of happy customers every day.

The 50-year-old did this since last October at his stall in a coffee shop in Jalan Macalister here.

This is a great mystery. On one hand, we have many experts including multiple gomen ministries struggling with the issue of chicken supply and price. Local breeders are closing shop. Eggs from a monopoly importer are sold at above the purported max price, while local eggs are sold at far higher prices under various excuses.

Yet, here is a small unsupported retailer selling chicken rice at way below the acclaimed Menu Rahmah price of RM5.

Actually readers should highlight good value food vendors that provides honest pricing. Too many hawkers and mamak restaurants charging high price just because Penang food is appealing to tourists.

Noise reduction: Trees and plants can significantly reduce noise pollution by absorbing sound waves.

Improved mental and physical health: Living in a green environment has been linked to better mental and physical health, reducing stress, and promoting relaxation.

In summary, having a green environment is a better and more sustainable approach to urban development, rather than relying on concrete, brick, and mortar structures.

Al pha, the brick and mortar is by private just like you. They don’t have right to develop as per legistration. Building if roads is to reduce burning of gasoline and time from A to B. Or you want to have bullock roads like your early day?

Why do our political leaders come up with development plans that stretches to 10 years when their term of governing is only for 5 years. What is their idea or rationale behind it? Why can’t they just come up with a 5 year development plan and complete whatever it is within their term of governing.

Are they so sure they are going to be around for 10 years to complete their 10 year development plans?

Alpha, you should also asked why doc takes 6 to 7 years and have do house man ship. Why engrs take 4 years when in past only 3 years? Why your MCA with Umno has to build twin towers takes more than 5 years? The N-S low way also more than 5 years? Why can’t be 4 years 364days?
