A candlelight vigil calling for the release of 45 ISA detainees was held along a road near the Lake Gardens tonight.

Participants at the vigil held placards reminding passers by that the some of the detainees are believed to be in the 10th day of a hunger strike.
Why are there still ISA detainees when Najib announced last year that the ISA would be abolished?
If anything, the Kamunting Detention Centre should be shut down and turned into a museum piece as a permanent reminder of the human rights abuses under the ISA and a warning to future leaders to never again violate the basic rights of the people. That’s the proposal by the Abolish ISA Movement (GMI).

Why are those innocent ( they were not charged in a court of law and found guilty of any crime) detainees being still incarcerated under the irrelevant draconian ISA? Our great 1Malaysia … leader with a forked tongue promised the repeal of the ISA a year ago and was replaced with another. Since those detainees were not arrested and detained under the new law, why are they not freed? Najib has not delivered any of his promises in his transformation programme of making the BEST DEMOCRACY in the world.
