People, anti war means “ANTI WAR”. It’s not about passing judgement who is wrong or who is right, nor taking sides with either Israel or Hamas. At this point, it doesn’t matter who started the war because innocent civilians (Palestinians and Israelis )are victims here. So people let’s have ” A heart”, otherwise we are being bias too when we take sides. So let us all pray for this WAR to END. Period. That’s it. Not supporting anyone at all.

You can’t really blame Christians for feeling no mercy towards Palestinians. The God of the Old Testament told the Israelites to claim the Promised Land, so Palestinians are not really people with flesh and blood who feel pain like normal human beings. They are more like crash-test dummys God put there to test Israel’s faith. …

Dear Jon, very civil aren’t you?
If Hamas doesn’t have the artillery to fight Israel, they shouldn’t instigate a response by firing rockets into Israel, should they?

I really feel the same as many of the other posts here. Why is the Palestinian conflict worth our attention more than others like Sudan, Sri Lanka, Somalia, Kashmir, Myanmar, etc. Aren’t all of these just as atrocious? Aren’t women and children dying in these conflicts too? Aren’t the lives of these people of equal worth? Why suddenly all these protests and vigils about one particular conflict? Seems like an UMNO way to distract the people from the immediate local problems we have been focusing on like corruption, crime, human rights, etc. Very timely during a by-election too. And why… Read more »

Once upon a sunny morning a man who sat in a breakfast nook looked up from his scrambled eggs to see a white unicorn with a golden horn quietly cropping the roses in the garden. The man went up to the bedroom where his wife was still asleep and woke her. “There’s a unicorn in the garden,” he said. “Eating roses.” She opened one unfriendly eye and looked at him. “The unicorn is a mythical beast,” she said, and turned her back on him. The man walked slowly downstairs and out into the garden. The unicorn was still there; he… Read more »

By all means enjoy the vigils, but Yes, Israel Can Win in Gaza It seems that most of the West’s news reporters and pundits agree with Islamists everywhere that an Israeli victory in Gaza is impossible. They decry Israel’s defensive attack on Hamas,… Even the inconclusive Israeli ground actions in Lebanon, which never involved more than six companies (roughly 600 men), resulted in the loss of some 400 Hezbollah fighters in direct face-to-face combat while Israel suffered only 30 casualties…… So how did Israel do it? The only possible explanation is that people in Gaza have been informing the Israelis… Read more »

I’m sorry for the palestinians civilians who were killed. Support anti-war and someone should whack hamas for the trouble too.

By the way, GAP, what about the war in Sudan where hundreds of thousands of innocent people were slaughtered by religious fanatics?
Berat sebelah are you?

Last update – 20:28 08/01/2009 Hamas executes collaborators and restricts Fatah movement By Amira Hass Tags: gaza, israel news, israel Since the aerial attack on Gaza began, Hamas has sought to suppress individuals it believes endanger the group’s fight against Israel and its hold on power in the Strip, as well as public morale. Prime targets include Fatah members, people convicted or suspected of collaborating with Israel, and “common” criminals. http://www.haaretz.com/hasen/spages/1053825.html I suppose these people too will join the statistics as victims of Israeli bombings! Gods knows, there are enough bleeding hearts out there (and here) who will lap up… Read more »

While at the vigil why not start an opposition demo against the UMNO. You don’t need a permit like Umno in today’s demo.. What do you think?

i echo dave.

is this really an anti-war vigil? the mailing list i received from suaram about a week ago, mentioned it as ‘candlelight vigil in solidarity with the people of palestine’. you call that anti-war vigil? clearly they are taking side already, thus it is not an anti-war vigil at all! no thank you, i’m not attending at all.

OUT OF CAGE TO STAGE A RAGE?

At times students are kept in a ‘cage’
Now they are being turned into a ‘rage’
Why must they now be put on a selected ‘stage’
When they should be encouraged to turn another ‘page’

If it is a true anti-war protest or an Israel bashing exercise? Any statement made should also include the Terrorists Acts of Hamas who would be almost totally responsible for the death of women and children in Gaza. If you watch Al-Jazeera News on 513, they have been giving a balanced news, hilighting the atrocities of Hamas, and how they are firing rockets into Israel from highly civilian populated areas. So how long can a neighbour tolerate if Hamas keep throwing toxic waste over the fence, and then run to hide behind the wife’s skirt? What are the countries surrounding… Read more »

In this recessionary times go ahead and listen to a senile. Stop using computers and airplanes too. Show your solidarity. Sail a sampan to your destination. All Malaysian attempts are futile. Your contribution to the US economy is less than a drop in the bucket.Just think, if the US banned your products.. I dare not think. In the meanwhile, focus on in innocent detainees jailed under ISA. Stop being hypocrites.

Hey Tun M, where are those people to find a job if they are to resign from McDonalds, KFC and all American companies… Coke is American so is Pepsi, why target only Coca-Cola? But the local business is owned by local F&N Group and 60% of its workers are Muslims too.

Should we also boycott the pharmaceutical companies which are American? Stop using viagra first I guess….
