We welcome the government’s initiative to publish the “PetaRI” institutional reform roadmap.
This represents a positive first step towards transparent governance. It allows civil society to monitor progress and hold the administration accountable for any delays more effectively.
The digital accessibility is commendable, as is the commitment to stakeholder engagement sessions. However, we require greater transparency about how effective these consultations have been. Full article on the Aliran website.

Penang Congested road being reformed BUT can car drivers bear the inconvenience during construction of LRT for 6-7 years?
Billions of RM are involved. Just get the member of the town council, state assembly or Parliament to talk through both sides of his mouth.
At least now billion of ringgit from ex-Finance Minister is frozen. Imagine how many mouth the money could feed!
How about the Tan Sri (“He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named”) with luxury-brand casino game set, believed to be worth RM150,000?

Congestion problems continue to mesmerize Penangites until the next CM, as present CM only has 2-3 years tenure and can boast big plans no need to face consequences later.
Current CM Chow on cable car project visit to Switzerland. Penang Hill is just a small hill, should encourage obese locals to hike up by foot to exercise more and to get fitter.

Saudi Arabia has undergone significant social changes in recent years, with the Kingdom implementing numerous reforms aimed at increasing social openness and modernization, particularly for women. These reforms include the abolition of the religious police, allowing women to drive and work in jobs previously restricted, and ending segregated restaurants, among other changes. PAS in Malaysia ought to take note!
As reported on TV3:

The Penang Port Commission (PPC) is set to undertake a major upgrade of the Pengkalan Raja Tun Uda (PRTU) ferry terminal as part of broader efforts to modernise ferry services and improve public transport connectivity across the state.
The upgraded terminal is expected to feature a range of new facilities, including open-air parking, a sea-view observatory deck, food and beverage outlets, a garden bridge, and other tourism-friendly commercial amenities.
The moment Dr M became PM, he met Hadi Awang. Then they went on to have some Malay convention which artificially drummed up Malay crisis in order to check DAP who at that time was gungho about reforms.
Malays don’t need saving. Current government is already pandering to whatever the race/religion wants. Real reforms, that cut across all races/cultures/religion – real reforms are under threat. Malaysia can either remain stuck on communalism on the sampan, or it’s time for some adjustments (sometimes not easy) in order to transition to a bigger, stronger boat.
You will be surprised in the next GE when the Green Wave is gaining the Malay support. Already the URA and SST issues have been exploited by PN (and MCA!) to oust Madani.
In the midst of headwinds and costs escalation, downsizing, keeping numbers at management and operational levels is part and parcel of business administration!
Only those silly ones would do otherwise as for far too long Petronas was the private bank of powerful politicians.
Now reality bites!
You cannot have a situation of multi faceted portfolios and duplications as you see in public service in the private and corporate sectors!
Pulau Tikus hawker (Swee Kong Coffee Shop) crowned Penang’s char koay teow champ

The competition was organised by the Jalan Transfer and Jalan Argyll village community management council, which plans to hold the next competition in 2027.
Penang Tourism Chief Mr Wong lacks creativity to enhance Penang, and keep recycle proven but stale ideas like CKT, Murals, Chendol, Durians…
Give us more out of box fresh ideas to bring in high spending tourist revenues to the state coffee, ok?
May be Mr Anil has more brilliant ideas to share?
Thanks, Labubu. They need to focus on the basics: the importance of good public transport system and pedestrian walkways, preserving our ecosystems and cultural heritage…instead of mega-highways and reclamation projects.
Really need proper pedestrian walkway in George Town. Currently it is neither pleasant nor safe to walk along the Penang heritage zone with haphazard parking of vehicles blocking the walking path!
Chulia Street and Macalister Road. Try pedestrian walking along these areas during daytime. The “kaki lima” are either uneven, blocked by motorbikes or shops extending sale items outwards, and no choice to walk outside inconveniently next to parked cars and sometimes get too close to advancing buses or speeding bikes.
Exactly, we need safe and proper pedestrian walkways.
Midway in office, why PMX is not making half of the reforms he promised? Time is running out. PN is coming up strong under new Hamzah leadership with support from Che Det’s payung of Malay unity.
PMX’s PH has only 82 seats out of 222 seats in parliament, also need to take care the wants from Umno and GPS.
Rapid Penang has launched a new public transportation service Demand Responsive Transit (DRT) called Kummute which is a bus-on-demand using a mobile app.

Penang Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow will review a plan by the state government to offer a 5% discount for first-time house purchases by Indian Muslims in the state, offered under the Madani Home Ownership Campaign.
https://theedgemalaysia.com/node/758226
Penang is the first state to grant Indian Muslim the benefit of Bumiputera? There could be backlash from the Indian community towards the Rocket?
DAP is taking non Muslims for granted? Can pay heavy price in next election for sure.
The Penang government has decided to extend the 5% housing discount to all homebuyers in the state in a bid to clear unsold property stock.
