Question is can MAS survive the financial cost of this tragedy?
If BN is baling out MAS, then we can expect our nation will be further in debt!

Najib is like a news reader on TV3 8pm Buletin, reading on prepared text.

There is a saying in science – “Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence,” Mohammad najib made the announcement without taking a single question. And certainly without elaborating the scientific method. He does not want to be “seen” as hiding information ( as accuse worldwide ) and said that the passenger plane positively crashed into the Indian Ocean without a single survivor. Or , he simply Tai-Chi away his responsibilities.and put such responsibilities onto others. “Found the plane” using the latest ….when it is an analogue Doppler technique. Astronomers use this calculation as well. But it is not latest tech as implied… Read more »

What was the urgency for Najib to make the unnecessary announcement at 10pm. Because of his selfish agenda, MAS was given less than an hour to inform ALL the relatives.can MAS confrm that it was becos of this imposing constrain that they reorted to inform via SMS, which has now caused a huge furore!! Why did they have to announce there were no survivors, where was the evidence, did they recover the 239 bodies? If not this completely contradicts Hisham’s repeated mantra that he needs to corroborate the evidence BEFORE he would make any announcement. What inconsstency..compromising his integrity for… Read more »

Anil, A little side-track here: For those who support our DPM’s Education blueprint, this latest article should be an eye-opener: http://www.themalaysianinsider.com/malaysia/article/low-quality-of-malaysian-education-more-alarming-than-household-debt-says-w The poor quality of Malaysia’s education system is more worrying than the level of debt in its households, said a World Bank senior economist Dr Frederico Gil Sander today. Malaysians should be “alarmed” that their children were doing worse in school than children in Vietnam, a country that is poorer than Malaysia. This is because the country’s substandard education system would affect the pool of skilled talent it needs to grow its economy to become a high income nation, while… Read more »

tunglang : Why can’t they (investigators without fear or favour) check Diego Garcia? Have you heard of the conspiracies, China, US and the West. There is more to this than just disappearance. Malaysia Najib is stuck in between. No plane can simple fly over such a distance without the US, China, France, Russia and the Western nation not knowing about this. Diego Garcia is a top US military installation and they have the most advance radar and satellite pointing all over the Indian Ocean Is this some sort of a pre-closure to go no further to the truth? Yes and… Read more »

My 20-cents Hokkien Mee Soup insight: Similar to Area 51 (of alien space craft crash), cover ups are as near cleaned up as Dynamo job. But some things of sinister motives just got screwed up somewhere in mid flight, military guys played dumb (thus no sharing of timely info which may reveal their strategic military surveillance capabilities), American media having a field day creating confusion with series of professional conjectures + false alarms + aviation theories which might have influenced Malaysian SAR efforts into more confusion & disorientation, more questions than answers (if any credible ones) at every press conference,… Read more »

the timing of annoucement and sms message by MAS to families of affected passengers caused more unrest. Najib did not give details except the plane has been lost in middle of Indian Ocean with no survivor. Why can’t he make the annoucement on Tuesday morning to allow the families to have a good night sleep unless he could share more details on how the plane has plunged ?

Yes! Furthermore why not including the MPs from the opposite from the beginning. There should be a joint commitee from the very beginning

Najib wanted to show the China families that he was hiding nothing and be the first person to announce for fear that other media or foreign leaders could be ahead of him?

This is a second time he held a one-way media statement, evading Q&A from the media.
He should have just delivered the message direct from his home instead, right?

Anyway, MAS has come under fire over its decision to break the bad news on the missing Flight MH370 via text message to family-members of passengers:

When it comes to “abnormal” airspace flight intrusion detection, we are totally HOPELESS..
BUT when it comes to “abnormal” anal intrusion detection, we are the BEST in
the world!!!

Btw, did the searchers find any of the tonnes of mangosteens floating in the sea?

My deepest condolence to all the affected families on their tragic loss of their
beloved.

That part of the southern Indian Ocean is not entirely desolate. The French maintain a satellite and geo-monitoring station on Amsterdam Island which is close to where the searches are taking place. They have 30 scientists stationed there. Why do you think the French suddenly got involved by providing satellite images? PM’s message has misleading elements.

You know why Najib is so very sad about the announcement ? He knows that the same is going to happen to Umno in the next GE, down to the bottom of the Indian ocean.

I hope that all those objects are not related to MH370. If no related object are found, it means that there is still hope. It could also means that the pilot could have flown to some remote location and that the passenger could still be alive. Let us all hope for the best. Miracle do happen

Why can’t they (investigators without fear or favour) check Diego Garcia?
No confirmed debris, no dead bodies, no nothing in southern Indian Ocean.
Is this some sort of a pre-closure to go no further to the truth?

That announcement was based on wrong satellite data. The search at Southern Indian Ocean will end up with rubbishes only. Soon they will have to focus on the coastal line from Kelantan to Thailand to look for the plane.
