Last Abolish ISA vigil in Penang tonight

The sixth and last weekly candlelight vigil will be held today (Friday) at 9.00pm in front of Dewan Sri Pinang. This series has been organised by the Gabungan Mansuhkan ISA (Abolish ISA Movement).

On Sunday, GMI will be holding a commemoration of the 21st anniversary of Operation Lalang at the open space outside Prangin Mall in Penang from noon to 10.00pm. It looks as if there could be another candlelight vigil in PJ on Sunday night.

If you have not already seen the latest issue of Aliran Monthly, go here for more information. This issue focuses on the ISA and the unholy concept of a ‘national security state’.

Says blogger Edmond R:

Yes. It was a wonderful experience for me the last time I attended the candle light vigil. I will be going again tonight. Some might call us dreamers. But I believe that dreams are little pockets of hope. If all of us share the same dream, then our hope of achieving real justice, freedom and equality will come true sooner, rather than later.

See you all there tonight.

It is very disheartening to read about the wrongs that are happening in our beloved country.

Why are our beloved Rulers keeping silent over the oppression by the evil BN.

….

So sad!!!

Huh? Last? Anil, you better keep this vigil going. We are just starting here in KL and I believe we are going to get a better response here this Sunday.

To all Penangites, Do not waver.. Keep this spirit going. The people cam’t afford to stop now. We have a big one in plan. Just wait for the announcement.

i believe all it takes is a first experience to feel the spirit and you’ll never want to miss the next one. We have to believe in people’s power, if we are against ISA we must show and stand by our rights against it. I’ll be attending the vigil night in PJ,KL hope more people will join us.

Remember Martin Luther King’s “I have a Dream….”? Everything starts with a dream…

Also, John Lennon’s Imagine… “but they say I am a dreamer, but I’m not the only one, I hope someday you’d join us… and the world will be as one!”
