Karma reports on the Pakatan’s prospects at Bukit Selambau and Bukit Gantang:

The sentiment on the ground at the two Bukits appears positive for the PR. Thrilled to see multi-racial supporters giving massive support to PR. Many from all races were waving Pas flags drowning the BN supporters. A good sign for Malaysian solidarity if this is any indicator of race relations in the country.

In Bukit Gantang, PR waves were too huge to be subdued by BN supporters. If this is any indicator, Nizar will win big.

Bukit Selambau saw a storm in a tea cup among PR supporters. Surprised though to see now a multi-racial crowd swarming around the PR candidate, despite the media comments on the disgruntled supporters.

Anyway, let it be a fair contest among the candidates and this is what we cherish most in a democracy. The media too plays a role in giving a fair coverage for all candidates. BN should by now have learnt through mistakes that using the media to their advantage will backfire. Be fair to all and let the best candidate win. The people now want a 2-party system.

BN or PR, let the people decide. After all, politicians are chosen to serve the people.

  1. All Malaysian voters involved in the 3 by-elections, I hope will return home to cast their votes and show BN=umno that peoples power is the greatest indicator of popularity….not daylight robbery

  2. Viva Pakatan. Taiping was jammed with party supporters right from dawn today. Massive police present with hovering helis.
Pakatan supporters were to be seen everywhere in town.
But then crowds do not necessary translate into votes but hopeful that after 308, the mood is different. Perakians are sore with the dubious take over by BN. Perakians should be for Nizar all the way.

  6. Folks…

This is my rather belated reply to those who brought up the issue of Najib’s link to the murder of Altantuya based on Bala’ SD, RPK’s SD and also the report in the French Liberation Daily. Let’s examine one by one.

    1. Bala’s SD: Basically Bala declared that Najib knew Altantuya and met her several times and had sexual relationship. Well, Maniam can make accusations but everything that Bala accused was hearsay and inadmissible in any court of law. Bala also guilty of lying since his version of events were very different. If his statement to police was not produced in full, then why didn’t he say so during the trial since Karpal Singh was there as the lawyer representing the deceased family. Also the whole accusations about Najib don’t make sense as Altantuya would be blackmailing Najib if they indeed had any sexual relationship. It is also perhaps time to recall that Anwar had claimed to possess a photo of Najib and Altantuya, which he has yet to reveal.

    2. RPK’s SD: PRK’s version is even more fantastic. He claimed that Altantuya was murdered at Najib’s house by Rosmah assisted by some military officials. This makes no sense as no one in their right mind would want to use C4 in a house and watch it explode. Secondly RPK claimed that the Military Intelligence wrote a report to PM and he has passed it on to KJ to safe-keeping it. Discount the stupidity of the claim for now. RPK also claimed that he has the report but not unsurprisingly yet to produce it.

    3. Liberation’s version: Basically Liberation recycles the same old story that Bala claimed with nothing new. It has many factual mistakes He did claim that Shaaribuu Setev having seen picture of Najib, Razak Baginda and Altantuya together but again this elusive picture nowhere to be found. But in conclusion he says Altantuya was killed by the UTK duo for blackmailing Razak Baginda.

So, who is telling us the truth, Bala / Liberation or RPK ? It can’t be Altantuya being killed twice right? So one or both of them could be (probably are) lying.

So what evidence do we have ? Both Bala’s and PRK’s SDs only contained hearsay evidence. And worse of all, contradicted each other. Neither of them produced any witness or evidence to back their claims. As for Bala, that he spoke out months after the trial and his sudden found wealth gave him away? Why did he retract his statement? He was blackmailed? I am sure he would have considered that before his SD.

As for RPK, his account of the episode is so pathetic that it could only happen inside his mind.

In summary, both of them are lying.

As such their claims against Najib has no basic whatsoever and from the accusations it is clear that both Bala and RPK had been used by Najib’s opponents to spread falsehood.

  7. It’s true that we should let the people to decide. All we want is having politician to serve the people regardeless which party they represent. We need political party that present sound policy to solve our economy, social ills, education, etc. It’s time to stop policy that are based on racial views only because racial policy will not help solve Malaysian problems. Therefore, I sincerely hope that BN will compete with Pakatan based on sound policy.
