All I can say is that some people are easily offended. I think Teresa’s point was that the meals didn’t exactly constitute a balanced diet; neither were they finger-lickin’ good. Know what I mean?

Report lodged against Teresa Kok for insulting egg
KUALA LUMPUR (Sept 24, 2008) : The Seputeh Umno Youth division lodged a police report today against Seputeh MP Teresa Kok, claiming she had insulted the Royal Malaysian Police and the egg, which is an essential food of the underprivileged.
The division’s deputy head Alawi Dahalin and several other members lodged the report at the Brickfields police station.
Alawi said he had heard Kok complain about the food she was given while detained under the ISA, at a press conference at the DAP headquarters in Petaling Jaya, shown on the night news on TV on Sept 20, a day after she was released from custody.
He said Kok had said the food she was served was “fit only for dogs”.
“By saying this, she had insulted the police and the poor. Eggs are an important food for low-income earners and the poor. As an elected representative of the people she should not have said that,” he said.
Wong Kok Keong detects a more worrying trend:
While this police report is incredibly idiotic, it actually is symptomatic of a disturbing trend emerging. Every group aligned with the government has now resorted to lodging police reports against others they disagree with or dislike by claiming the others as disturbing the peace, causing social instability, offending this or that religion,etc. And these groups are doing it, however idiotic their complaints may be, because they know the police will take them more seriously. When such a practice is becoming the preferred recourse and supported by the authorities instead of exchange of ideas and debates, it is a sign of a police state in the making.

It amazes me how small-minded people can be. It is laughable that a report has to be lodged against Teresa for ‘insulting’ (????) the Police and the egg?
What kind of youths are these to resort to such childish behaviour! I am truly ashamed we have people like these who think they can be the leaders of the future!

Disgusting. How dare these people call themselves leaders of the rakyat. At a time when hundreds of people are having their dignity and self-image stripped, through detention in Kamunting and through personal attacks by the autocratic regime that calls itself our government, the UMNO division instead decides to stand up for the rights of…an egg. Just a information for our Home Minister who claims our prison is of international standard. In Australia, the govt spent AUD$280.00 per day for per detainee or a prisoner as compared to MR5.00 for ours. Is he referring to a third world standard?

My God!!! What kind of mentality do we have in Malaysia now? Insulting an egg? Goodness me!!! I got such severe stomach cramps laughing my *** off. These noodles really made my day. They have such simple brains ( or no brains at all ) thinking of any damn thing to make a police report. Next, they might make police reports of you insulting sardines, instant noodles, bread,ikan bilis, kangkong, and every damn thing that the poor and common ppl eat. I hate salted fish. It is bad for health. Gee….. will they make a police report against me because by insulting the salted fish, I had disturbed the peace of you and even maybe the salted fish, who may jump up suddenly and protested that I had ruined their reputation. Chech! These jokers might as well make police reports against leaders who have squandered away the nation’s wealth on gala events and extravagent purchases. Aren’t all these gross acts an insult to the hard core poor in the country, who have not been given aid to truly rise above their economic destitute, even after how many years of rule under the current regime?? Those self righteous fellows who say that the poor only have eggs to eat…blah blah blah…should then DO something to help the poor !
And until the egg decides that it is offended and makes its own police report, will these jokers kindly go off to some other corner to sulk. Sour grapes!
