The developer for the Oasis project, Nusmetro, says the High Chaparral villagers have until 2 Aug to leave the land, according to a media source.  The developer is drawing a firm line in the sand.

The uncertainty over the fate of the Oasis project appears to have unnerved those interested in the condos. Check out their latest comments on this property website here.

  1. The simple truth of the matter is that Hindraf do not have the …. to seek an accountability from Koh Tsu Koon. Period.

Unless they do so, Hindraf do not have the moral right to demand that the state govt buy up the land from the Unmo-linked developer.

The state money belongs to all Penangites.

“Yes, LGE can highlight the problem is caused by KSK. This is a problem we all know, but we still need solution to this problem at the end of the day.- nkkhoo on July 2nd, 2009 at 12.30pm”

Bro, the state gov is working out a solution with the villagers and the developer to find the SOLUTION. Having you shouted LGE be sacked is the solution? Spending the min RM30 mil of tax payers’ money is the solution(have you asked the Penangites permission to use the money or not?)? Not willing to sit down to negotiate for compensation is a solution? Get Hindraf in to burn the effigy, demonstrates at all the wrong places is the solution?

    ===

Although I read many online papers, I have NOT came across any concrete solution from LGE. Have LGE come out any valid agreement for the villagers to accept RM200,000 compensation deal? NONE.

I can smell injustice done on the villagers by the Bolehland jurisdiction system. But when did I ask LGE to resign for this matter?

What I expected is LGE should be brave enought to meet up with the residents? Did he ever step into Kampung Buah Pala after 318?

If you people insist that this problem must be tackled by KTK, I suggest LGE resigns from CM post and re-install KTK as a new CM. This is only fair to give back CM power to KTK in order for him to untangle his wrongdoing in the past.

What is consider a solution to NKKHOO? NKKHOO, please give a definite answer.

I believed there is already a proposed solution on the table, but to some people it is not a solution because the proposed solution does not meet their demand and expectation.

  4. nkkhoo , the more i read your statement about LGE weakness, the more i see your image as a weak leader without solution. The solution already tabled out and what is there for you. RM 200K already can get these poor citizen to stay in Kulim. Penang is not a kampung for them to pollute their waste water into the sea. If they want to live in Penang, work hard like anybody else in the food chain and don’t just complain now when they already have 500 years of time to do it since their ancestor time.

IF LGE is CEO for any multinational company, he will be sacked long time ago by the board for giving excuses that all problems are inherited from previous CEO. ”

Nkkhoo.. If LGE is a CEO, he would have brounght an action on behalf of the company a fiduciary action against the former CEO. In this case, it is (alleged) fraud. The burden of proof to prove fraud is superbly high unlike ur normal civil actions (and without much support from civil servants – read it as the Koperasi). Hence, his first task is to investigate. FAHAM ke tak? After investigate, an action may be brought in court. the can try to reverse the dealings made towards the land.. Faham ke tak? But first of all, he must win the legal suit. Again, faham ke tak? If u r not a lawyer, then google it up.. Faham ke tak?

  6. LGE and his gang are incapable to handle this issue profesisonally. Since they are only good as opposition party, not as a governing party. I would like to give some free advices to LGE.

First solution: Exercise the power of CM to take back the land and return the land to villagers.

If this option cannot be done, we demand a detailed explanation with risk analysis, facts and hard figures. His office boy said RM30 million and someone else from state government said 150 milion is needed to buy back the land. This sort of inconsistency statement is bad for Penang state government

Second solution: A good compensation package (RM 200,000 for each family) with all paperworks ready for villagers to sign. I was confused by two different figures given by the developers and Hindraf.

Third solution: Continue legal battle in the court. I would say this is dead-end journey for villagers and state government at this moment.

Fourth (future) solution: Amend the law in parliament to void this land transaction when PR won the election in the next election. Also fire all Federal and Appeal Court’s Judges if possible.

Accepting “goodwill” compensation is only second best option, taking back and return the land to them is ultimate option.

  10. People in Kg Buah Pala are NOT squatters…

They have been there before independence, they developed the land, they made this land valueable… only thing they don’t have is a legal land title… This is because of the unjust law that sided the rich and against the poor…

Transferring the land by BN government to the GREEDY crony developer is a betrayal to the people and BN has to bear most of the blame…

and for Pakatan rakyat Government, it has to show its courage to defend the people and break ranks with those developers who only concern about profit with the expense of ordinary people…

This is a REAL people’s issues, and the struggle of Kg Buah Pala residents is our struggle!

But remember, I would not want to waste my money on squatters trying to make some fast buck. If they win, then just wait everybody the poor esp. will erect squatters on any piece of land they can find.
If you own a piece of land, and they squat what would you do? Pay them to leave your land? Tell me please I need to know cos I am stupid like LGE.

Hindraf never negotiate , they already threaten LGE.
NKKhoo, u r sitting behind the PC and talk is cheap. Why not going down there and talk some sense into the them. Y not pressure LGE only but not Dr Koh. what now Umno and Gerakan their friends now??

u don’t threaten your buddy like that. U will do the same thing if u r LGE if they threaten you and show disrespect . None of them ever express such magnitude of anger during the Gerakan holding those offices in Komtar.

They are better kick out from Penang rather than causing trouble here.

If you are lazy and ignorant to understand the historical background of Kg Buah Pala which dated back to 150 years ago, you shall also call every Chinese villagers in new villagers as “squatters” because all of them only resided in their land for 60++ years.

State government legal team shall dig back on why TOL title was isssued to villagers, the legality of land transfer from trustee to ex-state government, etc.

Did LGE conduct this basic investigation before and declare nothing he can do?

What IF LGE to buy back the land at original cost of RM6 million for interest of the public interest? He has executive power to do so.

Let fight the developer in the court. In case state government losing this legal battle, then I will still say LGE already doing his part.

He did nothing to defend the villagers except giving all sorts of excuses.

DAP, PKR and PAS knew this issue before 318 election. This is not a new issue as you would like to project.

You have every right to demand KSK to explain? I hope you can demo in front of Gerakan office. I am also glad to see LGE to drag KSK to court for his fraud.

LGE as the present custodian for state government should initiate legal investigation and proceeding against KSK.

He did nothing on this except crying like a baby that KSK shall be answered for the mess. Ask LGE to resign, I can be a next crying CM.

Mind you, these villagers won the case in the High Court first. There is strong legal case for them to be declared as the rightful land owners.

Why they lost in Appeal and Federal courts, it’s up to your intelligence to figure out why.

Legally speaking, your descendant is legal land title owner for any plot of vacant land in the state after paying 150 years of cukai tanah or rental fees IF no one complaining your squatting activity for 150 years.

Villagers in Kg Buah Pala was never squatters from day one. They are made “squatters” by unscruptuous BN politicians.

Pakatan especially DAP committed local council election. This is another broken promise.

Finding a solution to this fiasco and seeking an accountability from the previous CM are two separate issues.

The fact that you can’t or won’t understand the difference speaks volume of your intellect.

Wait a minute.. I thought a report was already lodged with MACC? and BTW, the state has no locus standi in a private (allegedly) fraudulent transaction. It was the villagers who should sue the govt. Again.. I thought the villagers has brought legal action in court? Juz that they omit to sue the govt and they lost their case. and.. MACC couldnt be bothered about their reports. Anything else u wana add?

Personal attack on my intelligenc prove nothing except showing your true gangsterism color. There is a saying for loser in the public forum, “if you cannot win your argument, then attack the person”

KTK and Gerakan had been punished and ousted as wakil rakyat by Penangites. You want KTK to commmit suicide for (alleged) land frauds as your solution? Or what?

You are the one make yourself confuse on what is solution and accountability. Even (if) KTK commits suicide presumably (because) he feels shame for his (alleged) wrongdoing, the problem of Kg Buah Pala is still there.

A true accountability is for LGE to dig out all wrongdoings and evidence and bring KTK to court.

A true solution is to reverse the land deal done under unlawful and dubious transaction.
