  4. Hi K.

No point attacking each other. I have state my case. I am a 4th generation Malaysian Chinese but I am still call a non-bumi. Still have to put ‘Chinese’ on all govt forms and I/C also put race ‘Chinese’. I really hope my children will one day be proud to have their I/C with race stated as ‘Malaysian’ as equal to their nationality.

  5. Anil,

Someone named ‘K’ is undermining Perakians intelligence by saying Nizar is under control of DAP. Those pro-BN can play with this issue but I guess will back-fire.

This is how I see as an outsider. ‘K’, don’t blame me later for not reminding you.

NIZAR IS SURE TO WIN, NOT JUST A WIN, BUT OVERWHELMING WIN. Of course if my guess is not accurate. But, so far, my guesses were all ‘Chun’, as Chinese said or ‘Tepat’ as what my Malay friends taught me.

  9. At first I thought Umno will field Zambry for Bkt Gantang, but….a small….

But, whoever the candidates, it is still a fight of ‘Perakians’ vs Zambry.

Hamzah, it is only natural for those pro-BN to think of ‘puppet’ in whatever circumstances as they are so used to being ‘puppeteers’ in Umno & ‘puppets’ in BeEnders.

Some people here are puppets, perhaps or puppeteers?

Let us celebrate come this 7th April night at Anil’s blog, not only for Nizar’s victory, but also the other 2 bye-bye elections in Bkt Selambau & Batang Ai. Sorry, as an outsider, I don’t bother their names, I can only recognize Nizar. Anyway, whoever also never mind, so long as PR win. Worth celebration even I am not a Malaysian. They will be a victory for natural justice.

  14. I think the PR leaders has now started to believe their own spin and living in delusion that the people of Perak supports their illegal … ex-govt.

As I had stated before Nizar’s choice really has given the BN camp a big boost. Had the candidate been someone else, it would have been tougher. But Nizar’s easy meat. I am sure the UMNO folks have already brain storming posters for the by-election.

Nizar has been fatally compromised by his “running … of DAP” image. That Ngeh and Nga been directing Nizar on every policy and decisions is well known, however much some PR folks deny it.

There is no doubt that the majority of the Malays and Indians in Bkt Gantang will vote for BN since the candidate is local. The chinese vote likely to split evenly. The Chinese aint stupid since if they reject BN, then they will have to put up with the BN state govt. So they have nothing to lose and everything to gain by voting BN.Casting votes against bn might send a message but do you think that will change anything or Najib cares ?

The Malays that opposing Bn candidates are the Talibans from PAS and the rejected and expelled members from UMNO. In fact most people who came for the ceramah were outsiders looking at the traffic jam, number plates and cars.

The body language of Anwar and DAP leaders already stated accepted that they will lose all three by-elections.

  15. Dear K,

You ought to remember that B. Gantang is not a overwhelmingly Malay constituency.
It is a mixed constituency, approximately in similar demographic distribution with the population mix of Peninsular Malaysia.

If PR loses this one, it would mean that the majority of Malaysians are not in for a change and we have to accept the verdict and request the PR government to stop all court actions and let BN rule until the people decide again in the next GE.

The previous winner was also from PAS where over 30% of the voters are non-Malays. Personally, I don’t believe race is going to be the main preoccupation with Malaysians as played by UMNO.
It’s more about getting food on the table, eradicating corruption, competency & transparency in governance and giving a future to our children.

  16. Nizar handling of the Perak Crisis is Exemplary and OUTSTANDING!
He did not WAVER even for a moment despite the onslaught of the whole BN dirty tactics.

Respect must also be given to the wisdom of the PAS Leadership to select such a Towering figure.

Wise Choice. Syabas to PR & PAS.
hahah this apply for chinese and indian only right.not for the malays.

  20. Hi Anwar March 23rd, 2009 10pm . If not the whole of Malaysia, then can u please explain the reason why BN suspend Harakah and Suara Keadilan so near the 3 by election. BN is always branded a coward.

I as a malaysian Chinese fully support PAS .

yes nizar want your vote.too bad u are from penang.next time your MP died, dont forget ask guan eng calonkan nizar.ok?happy?end of the story..

  21. Dear Anwar

    I agree with your points.

Since I am an Indian, I would like to share the mood of Indians at Bkt Gantang and Bkt Selambau.

Only a small group Indians belonging to PKR and DAP are backing Nizar, most Indians just hate PAS and PKR for the way Indians have been treated after they have supported PR in the last GE. The Indians are angry PR have done nothing to help them. So there is no way most Indians will support a PR candidate in Bkt Gantang or Bkr Selambau.

As for the Chinese, I guess it will be roughly 50% 50% split. The Chinese are no fools, they are pragmatic voters as seen from KT b-election.

Nizar is toast…But the pityful thing is Ngeh and Nga are sacrificing Nizar while taking no personal risks. It Nizar loses, then they will say ppl rejected PAS and Nizar. So it is a lose-lose situation for Nizar.

  22. Something to ponder on…even PAS itself is divided over Nizar…read on

  25. My analysis of BG b-election:

The allure of Nizar for many non Muslims is his pliablility to the machinations of the Tok Dalangs of the Ngeh And Nga Partners (NAP), a corporation sometimes (albeit mistakenly) refered as DAP Perak.

The state of matters in Perak’s ex-state govt can be likened to a boy band. Those business and marketing folks know they need a couple of pretty and young boys who are not terribly smart, obedient and completely talentless as the front to mime the songs…

Ngeh/Nga (NAP)knows that they can never be the MB so they needed someone who is obedient, wholesome faced and without political power so that they can run the state via proxy. Nizar was the chosen one since he … didn’t count Senor Osama B Laden as one of his role models or considered the Talibans as progressive moral force.

In terms of administration, Nizar was a human rubber stamp. If you examine all the actions of PR govt since march 2008, all of them were part of NAP’s agenda.

There was not much support for Nizar even within PAS and also PKR. He wasn’t unpopular but he wasn’t liked either for turning Perak into an Ali Baba state …

As for his management and leadership skills, he was very weak and let his staff and NAP to run the show….

Even for Bkt Gantang he was never the 1st choice candidate. Nik Aziz opposed his candidacy initially but the conservative factor led by Hadi pushed him through and in the end Niz Aziz had to agree that there was no one better though I suspect NAP had their way by using the DSAI connection. For the uninitiated, the so-called PAS’ Erdogan faction is allied to Niz Aziz and supports DSAI. Hadi’s nationalistic and conservative faction favours some sort of cooperation with UMNO.

The reason why Niz Aziz didnt want to allow Nizar to contest is because his subservient attitude to NAP and also since he is already an ADUN. But Hadi’s contention was that Nizar’s political career as ADUN and MB is over since Nizar’s stunt had burnt the bridges with the HRH forever. Even if PR or PAS takes over Perak, Nizar will not be the MB. So the only way for Nizar is the Parliament.

But I also feel DSAI had blundered badly by allowing Nizar to contest at BG since there is much anger among the malays for Nizar’s … act to the Royalty and proxy act to NAP. Even the PAS supporters are divided.

Even if Nizar wins (I think he unlikely to do so), he will play no significant role as his performance as Perak MB will hang like a millstone on his neck. Unless he joins DAP (the real one), he would have reached the dead end of his political career.
