Pada pendapat aku la… Sebab aku dulu pernah pergi ke Petronas, time visit tu batch aku ada brtanya kepada pekerja yg telah lama berkhimat dan kat Petroliam Kerteh… Dulu sbelum tertubuhnye Petronas, Shell dah bertapak kt Malaysia (Miri) ni.. So, keuntungan kerajaan hanya sedikit berbanding Shell, utk itu,… Read more »
Confusion mystery solved. Lim Guan Eng was the one advocating RM1.50 per liter, which is too low and detrimental to the country’s budget.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/beritamalaysia/message/106520
Opps my bad. I thought I saw you advocating RM1.50 per liter. At RM1.90 per liter is alright, inclusive of fuel tax. FYI, USA has among the lowest fuel tax in the world.
The average price of a gallon of self-serve unleaded regular gas nationally (in USA) is $1.80.
http://www.bizjournals.com/phoenix/stories/2008/12/01/daily25.html
US$1.80 x 3.64053 MYR = 6.55162 MYR
1 US gallon = 3.78541178 liter
Thus 6.55162 MYR divide by 3.78541178 liter = 1.73 MYR per liter.
So you are WRONG! Really WRONG!
Saya beranggapan kerajaan perlu jujur dalam menerangkan kepada rakyat tentang isu harga petrol. Semua orang tahu bila harga minyak mentah naik, pendapatan negara meningkat. Tetapi kenapa kedengaran alasan bila harga minyak naik, negara menanggung beban besar. Apa yang beban besar itu? Adakah proses penapisan minyak? Adakah kos carigali? Adakah kos yang dibayar kepada so called local Oil and Gas co? Walhal, Petronas bukan main untung bila harga minyak mentah dipasaran dunia melambung sekalipun kos-kos dan penapisan diberitakan meningkat. Sekarang ini pula kedengaran, bila harga minyak mentah dunia menurun, ada kemungkinan pendapatan negara menurun. Jadi, serba tidak kena statement yg kita… Read more »
Quoting Sam Gopal “Lowering petrol prices will only make the public go back to using their cars even more. I think the push is for the Government to maintain a levy of petrol and then use this MONEY effectively to IMPROVE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION system.” I think the government has been talking about improving the PUBLIC TRANSPORT for decades but NOTHING SEEMS TO IMPROVE. If there is an EFFICIENT public transport, raised the petrol price to discourage driving, I will agree. Too bad this is not going to happen as it will cannibalized PETRONAS, APs holder and PROTON’s revenue. On second… Read more »
So the Bolehlanders are greedy and stupid, smart Minister?
Is the guomen who continues to tax enormous profit from the petrol pumps by not lowering the petrol price to RM1.40 (Crude oil price is USD46 this morning)too smart or too greedy?
Is this the guomen “by the people, of the people and for the people” of is this the guomen”by the people, but not for the people, instead for the pockets of the riches and the cronies”?
So you want all Bolehlanders to be very stupid so that they cannot understand simple mathematics?
The 69 billion dollar question is what price is Malaysian crude being sold by Petronas? Does PETRONAS have long term forward selling contracts? How much did Petronas make during the oil boom in the last 12 months? Did Petronas get the advantage of booming oil prices?
Questions? Questions? Questions?
Any takers for answers?
Looks like we have a default Petrol Tax now. The concept of a Social Tax on fossil fuels has been suggested by many economists and environmentalists. I’m open to it with some very important caveats a) The Government needs to come clean on this – that we are paying them a tax on petrol. Not the spin and lies that they are doing now. b) What’s the formula, the mechanism ? c) The income from the tax should not simply become general government revenue. It should be fed into a special reserve – for funding public transport, environment-friendly projects, conservation… Read more »
ruzaimiramza, I agree with u.

5. Can we at least take a breather and be thankful.
I don’t know what else to say. end quote.
hahaahaa kena sodomised upside down, still have to say thank you. BN/UMNO will sure love you the most.
WAKE UP, DUDE!!! WE ARE SUBSIDING THE GOVERNMENT RM0.40 per liter!!! you know how much money they have robbed from us!!! so more malaysia is a petrol export nation. rakyat is supposed to enjoy cheaper fuel price!!!
Anil, You have been advocating strongly for a STRONG and WORLD CLASS public transport system. At this very time you are asking the Government to lower petrol prices. Lowering petrol prices will only make the public go back to using their cars even more. I think the push is for the Government to maintain a levy of petrol and then use this MONEY effectively to IMPROVE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION system. Lets not jump into the bandwagon and simply oppose for the sake of opposing. On the other hand LGE is making ludicrous demands of giving RM6,000 per family using PETRONAS money.… Read more »
Dear µalaysians, Please have a look at the page linked below. It shows the petroleum price trends of several different countries. Malaysia’s prices have always been on the low end of this chart. This is due to the subsidies from the government. http://www.criterioncatalysts.com/home/content/sg-en/shell_for_motorists/fuels/petrol_pricing/petrol_prices2_big_0928.html There are two things I find incredible about our complaints about petrol price. First, its already cheaper than most places in the world. What we’re asking for isn’t fair prices, we’re demanding to be treated like babies who can’t stand on their own two feet. Unless we earn less than RM1500/month, I think we can live with… Read more »
pls don’t look highly on RM625 paid via POSTAL ORDER. Someone is making millions over postal order commission. Can they just pay by check form JPJ when renewing our road tax?
Petrol price is one issue, talking CRAP and BULL-S**T is another thing then PUBLIC TRANSPORT is again another issue.
Ever wonder why our public transport NEVER IMPROVE over the years. I think the government NEVER PLANS to improve it as it will REDUCE INCOME for PROTON and PETRONAS when people start to by less car and drive less (use less petrol). think about this.
Not to mention the interest earned from the RM2.5 billion PARKED in the bank while Malaysian SLOWLY came in to take their money…RM2,500,000,000 X 3.5 % = RM 87,500,000 annually / 12 month = RM 7,291,667 monthly / 31 days = RM 235,215 daily.
jangan comment mende yg nampak sangat tak cukup pengeahuan tu….. ok
BELIEVE ME, WE ARE ALL BEING BULL-S*** BY THIS GOVERNMENT. PLEASE GO TO THE NET AND CHECK THE PRICE OF PETROL THE US PEOPLE ARE PAYING. CHEAPER THAN WHAT WE ARE PAYING. LOOKS LIKE THEY ARE PLAYING MASAK MASAK WITH US. YOU KNOW WHAT? JUST WENT TO TIAN CHUA BLOG AND HE SAID THE PRIME MINISTER JUST WALK INTO PARLIAMENT AT 10 PM. IN A SHORT WHILE HE IS TAKING HIS NAP IN PARLIAMENT. REALLY PM BOLEH. HOW IN THE WORLD IS HE GOING TO REFORM THE JUDICIARY, THE ACA AND THE POLICE. HE GOT LESS THAN 4 MONTHS FROM… Read more »
by now …. our friend in Thailand and Singapore no longer needs to cross over for fuel 🙂 simply because what price is higher … hahaha… what joke really.
Sharir : “We can’t lower the price too quickly as we have to protect the petrol station owner.” Me : I just can’t understand why a few thousand petrol station owners are more important than the millions who would benefit from a lower price. Sharir : “The pump price include a lot of other cost, not only the petrol cost and as such we can’t lower the price accordingly.” Me : Betul-betul tak faham such illogic !! Maybe I am stupid. Sharir : “Petrol is a control item. By setting a floor on the petrol price it will also benefit… Read more »
It’s all relative. Under the present citrcumstances with everything revolving around petroleum, RM1.50 a litre would be about right. However, I’m aghast that NOBODY is talking about weaning our economies and lifestyle completely off fossil fuels – all of which contaminate & pollute & are atrociously inefficient. In an Equatorial country we really would have done well to start implementing solar energy 20 years ago but it’s never too late. That can be supplemented by wind, wave & whatever cutting-edge technology is found workable – and I know there are many alternatives, mostly blocked by the greedy dinosaurian oil companies.
maybe he did quote it , lol .. but its good, he brought up the rakyats idea to parliament, i feel sad, hey but what about Petrol station owners, they will suffer losses wat.. forget bout tht,
Subsidy of RM2.5 billion through the post office? That figure is certainly bandied about, the question left is how much will the government make through the price being RM1.92? And this should be the question we should be asking. Any answers from the BN government supporters here?
The government making money is something we do not begrudge. But when they spend money like water, that is simply not acceptable. This has been reported time and again by the Auditor General’s Report year in yera out.
Don’t blame the government,(perhaps few) of them passed their Math in SPM,as for Add.Math, they all (may have) failed badly. That’s why our gasoline price is at RM1.90/ltr now. They just do not know how to count ! dy/dx anyone ?
Niamahhhh why do i feel we Malaysians are being idiotised to subsidised instead of the other way around!!!!!
Guess where the money rakyat “subsidized” goes to?
More importantly now,
get the food, groceries price reduced in line with reduction in fuel price.
they no longer have any reason to keep the price high.
promote consumerisme. boycott when necessary. KPDNHEP play role in doing spot checks and punish those who are degil.
