A large crowd of about 20,000 turned up in a little pekan in Bukit Selambau last night for a ceramah by Anwar Ibrahim, according to a source who was present.
Other speakers included Gobalakrishnan and Tian Chua.
A by-election will be held in this area on 7 April.
A shame Anwar can’t be in two places at the same time. Esplanade missed his Midas touch last night.

Anil,
Thanks for the info on the massive ESTIMATED 20,000 crowd turnout at Bukit Selambau last night. I couldn’t make it there due to work constraints. THAT CROWD TURNOUT MUST HAVE MADE THE BN FELLOWS HAVE THE “SHAKE, RATTLE AND ROLLS –TO QUOTE BILL HALEY AND HIS COMETS” FEVER.NO PANADOL’S ACTIFAST CAN CURE THE “GEGARAN’ OF THE CROWD!IT PLAINLY SHOWS BN WHAT TO EXPECT IF THEY DON’T PLAY VERY FILTHY(NOT DIRTY..AS THIS WORD IS TOO TAME!FILTHY IS A MORE APPROPRIATE WORD..MOST PEOPLE DON’T HAVE CONFIDENCE IN BN ANYMORE…NO PRESTIGE AS THEY ONLY HAVE MONEY TO LURE PEOPLE TO SWALLOW THEIR BAIT! WE ARE NOT THAT STOOOOOPID!)
NOW WOULD NAJIB HAVE ANOTHER TRICK UP HIS **** …OOPS, SORRY FOR THE PROFANITY! I MEAN ..UP HIS THREE-PIECE SUIT..TURNING TO BE A MAGICIAN? WELL, LET’S WAIT AND SEE AND YB DSAI SHOULD NOT MAKE ANY REVEALING STATEMENTS AS THIS NAJIB WILL CHECKMATE HIM AGAIN. YB DSAI SHOULD EMPLOY THE “SILENCE IS GOLDEN” ATTITUDE. I WOULD SINCERELY SAY THAT YB DSAI HAD IN THE PAST REVEALED TOO MUCH AND AS A RESULT HE WAS CHECKMATED BY NAJIB KASPAROV! YB DSAI! WE IMPLORE YOU NOT TO COMMIT THE SAME MISTAKE AGAIN. JUST REMAIN SILENT AND SEE HOW AND WHERE THE “HOOKED FISH” WILL TOW THE HOOK, LINE AND SINKER THIS TIME. NAJIB IS A VERY, VERY CONFUSED MAN NOW THAT THE FRENCH DAILY”INTERNATIONALE” HAS EXPOSED FURTHER THE ALTANTUYA MASSACRE! AGAIN, I IMPLORE YOU, YB DSAI, PLEASE REMAIN SILENT AND “YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO REMAIN SILENT”. THANK YOU, ANIL FOR ALLOWING ME TO WRITE THIS. HASTA LA VISTA, SENOR ANIL.

Is it a promising sign of good things to come or, is is just a mirage?
With all the questionable events unfolding around us, PR should have no problem recapturing the seat…unless dirty tactics are once again used by UMNO. Let’ see!

Dear Qunimade,
Right you are and BANG on target. Pilot of Stealth fighter on the plane’s intercom: Sighted target and distance on computer screen locked! Fire one! Boooom! What the pilot witnessed as he banked his aircraft to the port side was a huge ball of fire with all the smithreens flying in different directions and falling into God knows where…Pilot reports: Chico One to Base: Enemy subject totally disintegrated. Mission accomplished. Returning to home base. Over and Out. Tally-ho, my sweeties!(referring to his back up squadron) Bye! Bye!Bingo Nothches (BN, of course)!

Of course BN has the money (rakyat’s money) to play with…! Wasting our money on plastic rather than look seriously into our economy..!
All we can do is just comment but yet BN don’t seem to care still. They are not affected by the ‘longkang’ economy coz of their well paid salary & plus, plus…!
PKR can do better but no money to play with…!
Actually don’t need much. Just recycle all the banners, flags & etc… with PKR logo on it.
Anil….,
What you can do is those who support PKR can donate to a specific fund which can be set-up. Only use the money for elections only. Get someone to monitor the fund. There are about 26 million Malaysians. Well…! Who knows..!
Perhaps I’m just day dreaming….!

That’s good for a start. But like you said earlier, PR can’t take that for granted, just because a large crowd was there. A lot of work needed to ensure a PR victory.

“They think they can shout my face when I go to Bukit Selambau…but I’ll shut their face when I go there. When they talk I also got a lot of subjects to talk about them”.
~ Samy Vellu on the up coming Bukit Selambau by-election
Cakap! Jangan tak cakap Samy! Talk about Maika Holdings, MIED, AIMST University, P.Chitrakala and Sujatha. Chitrakala is rumoured to speak there. The topic is “Samy Vellu, As We Know Him”.

Make Bukit Selambau another lession for UMNO terlampau! UMNO/BN can use all their tricks but they cannot buy elections anymore. Voters will see to this and this would be a fitting end “Bee End”!

BN (appears to be) working on another strategy by getting more people to be independent candidates in Bukit Selambau. They hope this method will confuse voters and reduce Pakatan’s margin. Bad news is Perakians won’t be fooled by (such) vicious techniques.

Dear Supporters & Sympathisers
As many of you are aware , Malaysia is going through rapid changes in it’s political landscape since the March 08 Elections .. We , the Overseas Malaysians have been watching these events with great interest and enlightened that the new generation Malaysians have reached a level in matured Politics whereby the very basis of healthy debate has been restored to our Parlimentary system arising from the 82 opposition Lawmakers in the current Malaysian Parliament
With this in mind and to provide an insight into the latest political developments in Malaysia , Yang Amat Berhormat , Encik Tony Pua , the Pakatan MP for PJ Utara , is happy to meet fellow overseas Malaysians in a Question and Answer session at the above venue . The event will be held at the conference room between 3.30pm to 5.30pm .. As we need to organise the catering and light refreshments , confirmation of attendance must be finalised by the 11th March 2009 .. .
We sincerely hope that it will be a pleasant afternoon for all and we look forward to a good turnout …
Thank You
Warm Regards

May Bukit Selambau be a lession for Najib’s and UMNO’s “terlampau” tactics, before Malaysian voters bury Bee End in four year’s time. Sooner, if there is a snap General Election.
Malaysians are awakening and it is time of reckoning for UMNO and Bee End, before both self-destruct.
Hidup Rakyat.
