One more day to go for the scheduled study trip, but they are still not sure where they are heading. It’s scheduled to start from tomorrow-lah!
Perhaps all they want is just to get those BN MPs out of the country for a while. The official term for this trip is “educational agricultural field trip”. Meanwhile, Anwar has gone off for his own lawatan kerja to Indonesia – and he is still insisting the defections are on track.
Barisan Back-benchers’ Club chairman Tiong King Sing is quoted in The Star as saying:
Asked if it was true that the MPs were headed to Australia as was reported on some websites, Tiong said he had met with the sub-committee in the club arranging the trip.
“However, we have yet to decide whether we should go to China or Taiwan. We have to weigh the pros and cons of these two destinations because for China, we will need to apply for visas.”
So far, 48 MPs have confirmed their attendance for this incredible trip. The only problem is they are probably still not sure where they are going!
My advice: avoid Indonesia this weekend.
All together now, let’s sing Leaving on a jet plane:
All my bags are packed, I’m ready to go
I’m standin’ here outside your door
I hate to wake you up to say good-bye
But the dawn is breakin’, it’s early morn
The taxi’s waitin’, he’s blowin’ his horn
Already I’m so lonesome I could die
So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you’ll wait for me
Hold me like you’ll never let me go
‘Cause I’m leaving on a jet plane
I don’t know when I’ll be back again
Oh, babe, I hate to go
I’m …
There’s so many times I’ve let you down
So many times I’ve played around
I’ll tell you now, they don’t mean a thing
At a time when the vast majority of the rakyat are making adjustments to their lifestyle, tightening up their belts and bracing for the hard times ahead, we find a bunch of our MPs going on a headline making fully paid 2 weeks foreign holiday.
This administration has totally lost touch with reality. It is such a contrast to all the hopes that the country had on our PM Badawi when he first assumed office.
It really is very, very sad to see such a transformation in such a short space in time.

Are we not joke enough for the rest of the world?
I’m all for field trips for our leaders to keep abreast with the latest technologies so that the nation can advance better as a whole. But surely there must be some careful planning months ahead as to where to go, when to go, what to study & who should go etc. This trip is made in such a haste, why is the rush??? Had we not hastily put up the petrol price by a hefty 41% without spending time to inform & prepare the rakyat and only to find out the nation is now suffering from the resultant run away inflation of 8.5% & still going up? Is our country run by kids? Sigh!

You said it, Anil. They don’t even know where they want to go yet! what kind of desperate planning is this? Isn’t it obvious to one and all that it is a ploy? A laughable one too!
The other dead giveaway is that this thing is being held during the fasting month. Normally the govt & the entire civil service go into snooze mode at this time. For example, ACA recently said they will “continue” their investigations after the puasa month. Pffft…

Anwarwood Productions – The Biggest Blockbuster Show on Earth!
(Anwarwood Produksi – Tayangan Paling Besar dan Hebat di Dunia!)
Beware! Politics is a game not for the faint hearted in Malaysia. Malaysians will have heart attacks when you see the end. Even if you don’t, you will suffer a mild stroke or high blood pressure. Why? The Titanic 2 show this time directed and scriptwritten by Anwarwood Productions will continue with the following scenes:
1. Little Napoleons will continue with the phrase “The End Justifies The Means” in protecting their interests.
2. Some passengers will lose all sense of conscience and humanity when the ship is finally sinking.
3. Everyone in the ship will rush to get on the lifeboats.
4. Money is used to buy anything to safe oneself from impending doom.
5. The Best Actor and Supporting Casts together with Trojan Horses are finally shown at the end of the show.
Whatever the emotions left at the end of the show, please remember that it was just a show, just like what politics is all about. The reality of living together continues in this land.

Its ok if they fly to Indonesia at least they get to meet Anwar if they are lucky. By the way it is really a joke. BN leaderships are so worried and anything suggested they will just agree. Maybe tomorrow PM and DPM will ‘angkat sumpah’ telling the rakyat those who follow the study trip are at their own expenses.(BN MPs got so much money ma for 2 weeks stay) Disgusting- why can’t they face the challenges at home and be responsible and honest about it and I think the rakyat will be very appreciative. As it is now people are laughing at the BN leadership. PM and DPM ai say man….why so panic one, you are only showing your weaknesses and stupidity and so I put it to you both of you better resign as you are hopeless.

…Badawi has made another mistake and it`s transparent. He claims he met the Agung who is “happy” with him. …
Which is why the holiday destination of these MPs has suddenly become China and Hamid Albar needs desperately to ISA RPK.
Badawi is a very nervous, fighting for his political life person. If UMNO dont get rid of Badawi before Sept16, or another date, Badawi (could) be repenting for his sins in Sg. Buloh once the ACA is truly independant. But he (may even) have august company in Gani Patail.

This is biggest farce of all, this surprise educational ‘trip’, surely, to organise such a trip pretty last minute with over 40pax, hotel booking, meet and greet parties, visits to institutions, talks etc must be planned way in advance. This is poppycock, pulling the wool over the Rakyat’s eyes, wasting resources. Also, surely such a topic does not warrant all BN parliamentarians to to go educate themselves, what about bio and science, economics, and basic race relation, and human rights, AIDS, health?

Aiyah guys, the BN is so despartate that they are just trying to get as many MPs as possible to be out of Malaysia – China, Australia, Timbuktu or better still somewhere in the Amazon basin- so long as Anwar cannot get to them. Hullo members of the Badawi clan, how long do you really want to keep all those people wherever you are sending them? Wasting the Rakyat’s money again???
Anyway, even if you manage to keep them away from malaysia until the Sept 16th dateline DSAI mentioned, please remember that while DSAI did say Sept. 16th, he did not specify 2008/09/10/11/12. So are we going to have a Parliament filled with 82 PR MPs and a small contingent of BN MPs only for the rest of Badawi’s term????
Obviously, you guys are so badly kicked in the teeth that you all do not know what to do to(anyway you have never been able) react positively to the DSAI threat. As a rakyat of this country, I am ready to give DSAI all the time he needs to effect the crossover and the action of you poor excuses of MPs and national leaders – really more like headless chickens in organizing this “Trip to Nowhere” will end up exactly like that – NOWHERE! We know that when you finally allow the MPs you have forced to go on this trip to come home, they will continue by taking their bags and walk over to PR.

Whenever I travel oversea nowadays, I would not dare to tell people at my destinations that I am a Malaysian.
Dare you? If you do, they would give you a wry smile, thinking about you coming from a land whose politicians are unashamed of almost anything, have a fondness of liwat meliwat.

If these …… go to Australia, someone please do the following:
1. Alert Australia Customs that they can have a nice time (watching out for)… all sorts of Customs infringements. I wont say what but can someone please ask Australian Customs to do a complete check on the arrving MPs?
2. Send PKR/DAP/PAS MP wannabes into the absent BN MP constituencies for the duration fo their absence and reconnect with the people by saying since the BN MOs have run away, PR will take care of their needs.

Do not decide. Go China straight away and go over to inner Mongolia. Don’t even thinking or returning back after 17 September 2008. … No need even to but return ticket. One-way ticket will do and cheaper, too. Good luck!!!!

Anil, a beautiful song but sadly, words have all gone wrong. It will sound better with a few alterations here and there, and we have a new HIT Single. How about singing out aloud everybody??? Oh yes, just follow the lyrics below with the same musical score from the original song. Come on everybody, singalong, okay?
All our bags are packed, we’re ready to go
We’re standin’ here outside Anwar’s door
We hate to wake you up to say good-bye (permanently)
But the dawn is breakin’, it’s early morn
The taxis’ waitin’, they’re blowin’ their horns
Already we’re so happy, we could die (definitely!)
So **** us off and don’t smile for us
Tell us that you won’t wait for us
Don’t hold on to us, just let us go
‘Cause we’re leaving on a jet plane
We won’t be coming back again
Oh, Anwar, we just love to go
‘Cause we’re leaving ….
There’s so many times we’ve let you down, Anwar
So many times we’ve played sodomised around
We’ll tell you now, Anwar, they don’t mean a thing (of course-lah)

That’s the problem with this flip flopping government! Telling the RAKYAT not to be extravagant yet they do it themselves. In order not to be seen as such, it was reported that a certain BN MP is sponsoring the trip! Which idiotic … would be doing it…
‘Agricultural study trip’, ya ya, cross breeding …
Thought the trip is compulsory for all BN MPs, how come only 48 are attending?

Hi everyone,
I marvel at BN’s counter-productive moves in continuously insulting Malaysians’ intelligence. This’s getting more and more incredulous by the day!
A trip cooked-up at such short notice can be called a study tour, even when which places to visit is still ambiguous. How ‘stupid’ can the BN MPs be in signing-up for a trip to unknown destinations? What about the timing of the trip, encompassing Sept 16 and during the holy month of Ramadan!!
What about the Govt’s decree that overseas trips should be more in the ASEAN region? The country’s economy is suffering, the people are tightening their belts until further tightening them is impossible, and yet we have such an exorbitant trip. Who’s footing the bill?
The more bull*** that you come-up with, the more put-off are the rakyat. Maybe, by tomorrow we’ll hear that they’re visiting Singapore for an agriculture study tour!!

Catatan Ringkas Oleh : ARMAN AMIN
