The results of the SMS poll over the 8.00pm news on ntv7 yesterday
This evening, the women’s wing of PKR launched a signature campaign to lobby for the dissolution of the Perak State Assembly. They aim to collect a million signatures within a week - Kinta Kid has the story here.
An SMS poll conducted by ntv7 on its 7 Edition (English news) bulletin at 8.00pm yesterday revealed that an astounding 99 per cent of viewers want fresh elections to resolve the political impasse in Perak.
This clearly gives the lie to those who claim that Malaysians are “weary” of elections. If anything, what Malaysians are probably weary of are all those political stunts to avoid holding fresh elections.
If you doubt the accuracy of the ntv7 poll, consider this:
The ntv7 poll results are identical to the separate poll findings on this blog, which also reveal that 99 per cent (of some 2,500 respondents) want fresh polls in Perak (90 per cent of you want state-wide elections while 9 per cent want by-elections for only those seats where defections occurred).

Remember what Dr M said – that BN will lose in the Perak elections and suggested a vote of no confidence against Nizar?
You think Najib will disobey this decree/opinion’?
Now read here what Najib said today, as featured in NST’s online news.
“PAKATAN Rakyat can keep on dreaming of a dissolution of the Perak state assembly. Prime Minister and Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Najib Razak said a dissolution was not the only way to end the political dispute there. He reminded the opposition that the ruling coalition has the majority to rule the state”.
And by co-incidence, Nizar’s appeal will be heard now on 21 May, not 18 May.
Do you see a plot hatching?
The illegal MB can call for an emergency ADUN session before 21 May and pass a vote of no-confidence against Nizar.
On 21 May, the courts (may) say no need to hear the appeals by both Nizar and Zambry as it is a very academic situation by then as the legistlative had already voted out Nizar.
Do you see that happening?
Now, do you feel that this thing about BN likely to call for elections is actually an intentional distraction/red herring?
That’s the trick of BN…Not only Perakians wanted snap election…by now …it shud be the whole nation wanna snap election I guess…
other bn parties nationwide, this is ur time to tell umno to let the rakyat decide…or else all the bn parties will die the next GE13…do u guys really need umno ah, especially now???
I do not understand why the learnered make it confused. Solution is to go back to the Perakians to decide. Dear PM, your delay in snap elections will cause you dearly nationwide in the next election.
If your are the peoples’ PM as you claim to be, let the Perakians make the decision by going for the polls. It is better to lose one state compared to losing the Federal government.
Cakap tak serupa bikin…
On the one hand, PM Najib says he wants to be the people’s PM and on the other he is not listening to the people’s wishes…
BN Zambry is full of tricks to hang on power. The whole world wants a fresh by-election except umno.Don’t bother to ask those maids MCA MIC Gerakan Sabah/Sarawak parties….they wont dare to whisper a sound since 50 years ago. What reform?
BN is trying to hold on to power by any means. the general mood is PR will win and with bigger majority.. though it will not result in change of govt, but the least it will do is reduce significantlly Bn’s majority…
Nitasha said ‘The illegal MB can call for an emergency ADUN session before 21 May and pass a vote of no-confidence against Nizar.’
===================================================================
I wouldn’t be surprise if this is carried out.
If this is carried out, I would see it as a bigger crisis being created.
How could they vote Nizar out when now he is not a MB? Trying to vote him out means he is still a MB and the speaker Ganesan is not a valid speaker too.
Well lets wait and see what BN next step is. What action they take is not going to do them good…
Yeah, I voted in your poll. I am certainly in the ‘ninety’ category.
I’ve linked to you in my post:
‘Perdana menteri rakyat’ TAK NAK, 99% rakyat NAK
http://takenotetakeheart.blogspot.com/2009/05/perdana-menteri-rakyat-tak-nak-99.html
what can i said on umno… BN leh.
They dont have … at all, let see wat UMNO … BN want to do now.
ehhhhhh why no noise from MCA or MIC what is this arent they said they wan change…. prove it baby dont just open your … mouth and let umno…
Madey will tell you the poll is not accurate bra bra bra….
The longer UMNO/BN drag their feet on the Perak crisis, the deeper they are digging their grave down the chute of doom! Even those within UMNO and BN are getting fed-up with the way Najib & Co and messing up the situation.
If history is anything to go by, the delaying tactics employed over the years by BN have proven to be quite effective.
Everything will soon be forgotten. Why worry? Be happy. For the ever increasing segment of our population who aspire to be indecently rich with minimum effort, it’s easier to bodek the bodekable. If you take them away, that would mean real work. Now who wants that?
Never mind about the less fortunate, there are plenty of gated communities. More business from the golf courses to pay for more expensive dinner parties so we can talk about making more? Yes, you’ve guessed right, more money.
Welcome to the real world, Neo.
Najib is mistaken by thinking people have short memories. He can have a field day now but he will be thought a lesson by the RAKYAT come the next GE. Whom are you fooling if not yourself ?
BN and ahemno will spin that the sms poll is not accurate. It does not represent the demography, lah and blah blah blah. Election is not the only solution.
Everything denied and the fact ignored.

What is your take on the Perak political crisis?
Neither Dr Zambry nor Nizar should carry out duties of MB until a final court decision
4%
A caretaker unity govt should be appointed pending a final court decision
3%
Fresh elections should be called
92%
BN and najib is just trying to delay its demise, thinking he can prolong its power grab by all illegal means and schemes …but the whole of country and the international opinion are strongly against them…. The people will always remember May 7th when GE13 comes. As for mahatir, he is the one that is responsible for the most destruction done to this nation. Not surprising now the nation is going down the same road since he became the “unofficial advisor” to the pm.
Any which way you plan but loose.Cents wise dollar foolish. the Bolehland style.
Whatever little credibility left is beyong salvage day by day as you drag on and on..
There’s a calm before a storm……
Next time just ask court to decide who is the next MB, no more election for Malaysia…
btw, Mahathir thought we still using 8MB RAM in our mind, actually we already upgrade to at least 2BG. I think only UMNO using 8MB RAM and 386 CPU.
They will spin that the sms vote is rigged by the evil Pakatan and (maybe)…. punish the newsreader of NTV7 who did the show.
kekek.
remember the Muhiyiddin’s rambling that the media dun understand BM? Its always somebody else fault?
The percentage is quite mind boggling. I think this spell trouble for BN and I don’t mean just losing Perak in a by-election. It shows how much people are now anti-BN. Normally in a poll like this, there will be quite a significant number of BN supporters who will support the party action even when they think it is wrong. I think Najib has dug himself deeper into a hole and one that will have repercussion in the next general election. This is not just Perak itself but the way the BN is running the country. BN still don’t get it and still blinded by their greed for power and money.
Will the minister of info ban TV polls? We’ll see.
Even a less educated man will tell you what is the practical solution for the Perak political crisis…Obviously, Umnoputeras
are more concerned with their pride. They are not in favour for a State Snap election simply because, the fear of UMNO Ketuanan Melayu be humiliated in a massive PR win!
NEXT; Instruction from the EVIL…Ban all poll on Perak Election to all public media. List of thing you can’t do in Malaysie include ‘No mention of Tuya’, No black shirt, No breakfast near State Building, No vigils, No show of Speaker being dumped, No this, No that. This is call ‘Freedom, My Way’…’Freedom, The Old Senile Horse Way’.
Weary of Elections ? too many by-elections ?
Quote :
Many, especially from BN, are lamenting that we have had an unprecedented number of by-elections since the last general elections. Let us take a brief look at what triggered these by-elections.
Kuala Terrengganu, Bukit Gantang and Batang Ai – Death of the concerned assembly persons by natural causes, something all parties agree as an unavoidable factor. Having said that, I do not recall any other time in history when three assembly persons died within one year of their five- year term, do you ?
Perhaps the Health Ministry should consider a healthcare plan for all 222 assembly persons.
Permatang Pauh – Most citizens if not all knew that Dr Wan Azizah was Anwar’s proxy in this constituency. The general elections was called on March 8, 2008 just a month or so before Anwar was eligible to contest.
This left him with no choice but to enter Parliament via a by-election after Wan Azizah stepped down. This could have been avoided if BN ‘accommodated’ Anwar and allowed him to contest in the general elections. Instead they feigned surprise when the time came for a by-election at Permatang Pauh.
Bukit Selambau – Assembly person V Arumugam resigned on Feb 9, 2009 triggering a by-election. The reasons why Arumugam quit were appended to a statutory declaration which he wrote. In the declaration he stated that he no longer could stand the threats he had been receiving from certain parties besides alleged attempts from people claiming to represent BN who offered him up to RM5 million to cross over to the coalition.
He also demanded that past police reports he made on this be looked into. He also claimed that he and his family had also been harassed a number of times since last year’s general election despite declining the offers.
The mainstream media and BN factions played up the theory that Arumugam was embroiled in a morality issue for allegedly marrying another woman through customary rites without divorcing his wife. While playing up the infidelity claims, the statutory declaration is ignored.
If indeed it was infidelity, why has his whole family disappeared? How can he fabricate police reports lodged soon after the general elections?
So there we have it – three by-elections due to ‘natural causes’ and two that point to circumstances most likely created by BN.

Holding a fresh nation-wide election would restore the image of UMNO-BN. They may lose badly this time but they will win back people’s respect whcih should augur well for them in the 13th general election.
zambry-mandela-gandhi-king-mahatir will do anything just to keep the MB post.
he will have ramly burgers for lunch and dinner and if needed for breakfast and tea breaks. IRRELEVANT IRRELEVANT IRRELEVANT?
The Misconception-PERAK FIASCO-by Charlatan.
The public must be made to understand the position of PERAK State Government. It is not a problem. A 1st.Year Law Student is able to solve the problems. People who are learned, not so learned or ignorant in laws try to delve in the fiasco. They are wrong questions and get wrong answers. Many try to be too clever.
They must refer to Perak State Constitution and Parliamentary practices of Commonweatlh Countries. The practices are known as ‘CONVENTION’.
Basically members of Perak State Assembly, may vote to express that Non-Confidence in Menteri Besar Nizar. So what? Mr.Niza may resign after that passing of Vote of Non-Confidence.
The question, if he choose not to resign what happen next?. The Sultan may dissolve the State Assembly or refuse to do the same. Mr.Niza may continue to be Menteri Besar till 31-12-2009. By convention he should resign but he can choose otherwise.
Convention is not law but have force of law. As Nizar lost the command of the house, no FINANCIAL BILL can be passed. So no money could be legally be spent.
Niza do not have to resign and handover the power to Pangkor…. Nizar is custodian of Rakyat’s trust. By 31-12-2009, if the matter cannot be resolved the state will be declared emergency. The Federal Government may take over the state but PERAK will be in the safe hand.
Niza must resist the attempt to wrest the powers from Pakatan Rakyat…. The Sovereign is Rakyat. This is a small constitutional law lecture. many have to go back to schools to learn what is ‘CONVENTION’. Nobody to talk about this.
If Nizar refuse to resign, the Constitution of Perak is hopeless. Morally is wrong for Nizar not to resign but it is equally wrong for the P… to wrest power by unetical means.
Lawmakers must learn laws in order to make law. Many know nut about laws and they talk law of numbers. It is not mathematics or algebra. It is preservation of law and order to prevent down right swoop on legitimate government by use of external forces…. Public must be aware and not being hoodwink by Charlatan-who pretend to be learned in law but their heads are empty. To take for granted if you have Phd, you are learned in laws. This apply to political analysts too. God save Negeri Peark.
Niza! stick to your gun. Don’t ever resign at whatever cost!
Numbers must not be the sole basis to legitimise the snatching of power from legitimate government. Head counting… This is the number game played by … Pangkor. They fail to understand in case of impasse, the one an only solution is to go to the people and get fresh mandate. Do not beat around the bush and try to advance cock and bull story.
The Rakyat is not stupid. This is the age of IT. The Days where the people in power could manipulate Rakyat is gone. The Sang Kancil counting the head of buaya lining up in the river in order for him to cross the river is gone. Rakyat cannot be fool to long. Take the morale of the story – Sang Kancil and Buaya-Buaya.
Royal Proffesor Ungku Aziz did once said they are many PROFESSOR KANGKONG try to lecture us in law. Beware! only listen to Proffesor in law, only they may potray a true picture.
