The results of the SMS poll over the 8.00pm news on ntv7 yesterday
This evening, the women’s wing of PKR launched a signature campaign to lobby for the dissolution of the Perak State Assembly. They aim to collect a million signatures within a week - Kinta Kid has the story here.
An SMS poll conducted by ntv7 on its 7 Edition (English news) bulletin at 8.00pm yesterday revealed that an astounding 99 per cent of viewers want fresh elections to resolve the political impasse in Perak.
This clearly gives the lie to those who claim that Malaysians are “weary” of elections. If anything, what Malaysians are probably weary of are all those political stunts to avoid holding fresh elections.
If you doubt the accuracy of the ntv7 poll, consider this:
The ntv7 poll results are identical to the separate poll findings on this blog, which also reveal that 99 per cent (of some 2,500 respondents) want fresh polls in Perak (90 per cent of you want state-wide elections while 9 per cent want by-elections for only those seats where defections occurred).
Should Malaysia build nuclear power plants?
- No (92%, 4,513 Votes)
- Yes (6%, 315 Votes)
- Don't know (2%, 62 Votes)
Total Voters: 4,890

Remember what Dr M said – that BN will lose in the Perak elections and suggested a vote of no confidence against Nizar?
You think Najib will disobey this decree/opinion’?
Now read here what Najib said today, as featured in NST’s online news.
“PAKATAN Rakyat can keep on dreaming of a dissolution of the Perak state assembly. Prime Minister and Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Najib Razak said a dissolution was not the only way to end the political dispute there. He reminded the opposition that the ruling coalition has the majority to rule the state”.
And by co-incidence, Nizar’s appeal will be heard now on 21 May, not 18 May.
Do you see a plot hatching?
The illegal MB can call for an emergency ADUN session before 21 May and pass a vote of no-confidence against Nizar.
On 21 May, the courts (may) say no need to hear the appeals by both Nizar and Zambry as it is a very academic situation by then as the legistlative had already voted out Nizar.
Do you see that happening?
Now, do you feel that this thing about BN likely to call for elections is actually an intentional distraction/red herring?

I do not understand why the learnered make it confused. Solution is to go back to the Perakians to decide. Dear PM, your delay in snap elections will cause you dearly nationwide in the next election.
If your are the peoples’ PM as you claim to be, let the Perakians make the decision by going for the polls. It is better to lose one state compared to losing the Federal government.

On the one hand, PM Najib says he wants to be the people’s PM and on the other he is not listening to the people’s wishes…

BN is trying to hold on to power by any means. the general mood is PR will win and with bigger majority.. though it will not result in change of govt, but the least it will do is reduce significantlly Bn’s majority…

Nitasha said ‘The illegal MB can call for an emergency ADUN session before 21 May and pass a vote of no-confidence against Nizar.’
===================================================================
I wouldn’t be surprise if this is carried out.
If this is carried out, I would see it as a bigger crisis being created.
How could they vote Nizar out when now he is not a MB? Trying to vote him out means he is still a MB and the speaker Ganesan is not a valid speaker too.
Well lets wait and see what BN next step is. What action they take is not going to do them good…

Yeah, I voted in your poll. I am certainly in the ‘ninety’ category.
I’ve linked to you in my post:
‘Perdana menteri rakyat’ TAK NAK, 99% rakyat NAK

The longer UMNO/BN drag their feet on the Perak crisis, the deeper they are digging their grave down the chute of doom! Even those within UMNO and BN are getting fed-up with the way Najib & Co and messing up the situation.

If history is anything to go by, the delaying tactics employed over the years by BN have proven to be quite effective.
Everything will soon be forgotten. Why worry? Be happy. For the ever increasing segment of our population who aspire to be indecently rich with minimum effort, it’s easier to bodek the bodekable. If you take them away, that would mean real work. Now who wants that?
Never mind about the less fortunate, there are plenty of gated communities. More business from the golf courses to pay for more expensive dinner parties so we can talk about making more? Yes, you’ve guessed right, more money.
Welcome to the real world, Neo.

Najib is mistaken by thinking people have short memories. He can have a field day now but he will be thought a lesson by the RAKYAT come the next GE. Whom are you fooling if not yourself ?

BN and najib is just trying to delay its demise, thinking he can prolong its power grab by all illegal means and schemes …but the whole of country and the international opinion are strongly against them…. The people will always remember May 7th when GE13 comes. As for mahatir, he is the one that is responsible for the most destruction done to this nation. Not surprising now the nation is going down the same road since he became the “unofficial advisor” to the pm.

The percentage is quite mind boggling. I think this spell trouble for BN and I don’t mean just losing Perak in a by-election. It shows how much people are now anti-BN. Normally in a poll like this, there will be quite a significant number of BN supporters who will support the party action even when they think it is wrong. I think Najib has dug himself deeper into a hole and one that will have repercussion in the next general election. This is not just Perak itself but the way the BN is running the country. BN still don’t get it and still blinded by their greed for power and money.

Even a less educated man will tell you what is the practical solution for the Perak political crisis…Obviously, Umnoputeras
are more concerned with their pride. They are not in favour for a State Snap election simply because, the fear of UMNO Ketuanan Melayu be humiliated in a massive PR win!
