1210: Kg Buah Pala residents have failed to obtain leave to appeal against a Court of Appeal order for them to vacate the land. The Federal Court struck off their second application for leave this morning.
The villagers were unable to get a full trial in the Federal Court, says one of the villagers. He adds that there could be another appeal coming up next week (I need to verify this).
0030: Once again, the Kg Buah Pala residents have taken their case to the highest court in the land.

I agree with you mostly. However, I don’t think that investor sentiment is an important consideration in the Kg Buah Pala issue. This issue is a special case and the duty of the state govt in this case is to fight for justice for the residents. The state govt’s efforts should tilt in favour of the residents and against the developers. There need not be any necessity to take into consideration the interest of the developer who is probably an UMNO crony. The objective is just to squeeze out the best possible deal from the developer and this is what the state CORRECTLY did. This particular case is in no way seen by developers and investors as reflecting anything negative or postive about the overall investment climate of Penang. Penang has to be investment-friendly. At the same time, Penang has to protect its people’s interest. The state govt knows that.

Dear all,
The strategy is not about Penang but National perception. The strategy is to paint LGE & DAP is useless with the Indians and won’t help the Indians. Penang would still remain under Pakatan because its local issue there and they know the local problem and clearer idea who’s right & who’s wrong. Next election, Penang will still be with Pakatan. Now….National wide elsewhere like Melaka, Selangor, Perak, Kedah, Kelantan, Johor etc…Indians everywhere else will have a different perception because they are not so educated at the matter with MIC controlling their main newspaper and other government mainstream painting DAP badly. Only the internet educated will know more clearer the issue in Kg.Buah Pala. As a political strategist, you have to think about the whole forest rather then the trees. Sadly, I would say those folks in Kg.Buah Pala is being used…..well, at least if BN can compensate them certain amount, I say go ahead….let you be used….it doesn’t matter. Because its only your right to survive….

Yes, PR/DAP were so wrong in promising the KBP folks that their kampung will stay during GE’08 but hey, this is M’sia, isn’t this is all our politicians play their games to fish for votes. BUT at least they are not running away from their duty not like those KTK and Najib said Federal Gov won’t touch at all cos it’s state issue for me it’s more like washing their hand and gave it to LGE.
LGE did not fulfilled DAP’s promises but he did mediated for KBP’s folks for a double-storey.Where the hell you can get this offer? BN, the best they can do is offer a 600sqft RM40k FLAT which is not FREE.
Penangites stay united with KBP’s folks initially but mercy for them slowly faded since they keep on lambasted and shot at LGE so many times in front of media & TV especially everytime they had meetings with LGE. Today they talks nicely and agreed on the meetings with LGE, tomorrow they shot at LGE claimed this and that.
I do wonder are you staying in Penang after all. Now the Kg commitee has handed a memorandum to Muhyiddin and told him he’s the only person can help them. Muhyiddin may help them in order to show rakyat that BN after all is angel can save people bla bla bla.
Go back to school and gets your facts right oh ya..get a glasses will you. I’ve decided not to donate Rm0.10 to you after all. Not worth it

Your yapping it’s commical, for the record due to the state government intervention the developer came out with some sort of compensation. The compensation is far better than most can offer for a similar incident. I know and I speak from experience when my family was forced to move out from a piece of federal land in Kuala Lumpur.
Last year or maybe 2 years ago, I saw a video on youtube, when a kampung (KG Rimba Jaya?) in Selangor was being demolished I still REMEMBER a resident a Malay man crying telling the reporter the case was not even heard in the court yet although application was submitted. And here we have the KBP able to fight their case all the way to very last court before the inevitable happen.
If you wanna compare BN to PR it’s like comparing a rotten apple with a royal gala.

Wonder how the two cud smile after srewing up the villagers (photo in Malaysiakini). Well they ain the loser but the villiagers are for their stupidity. So is the two super heros brothers going to lay in front of the bulldozer to proof that they are “makkal” champions on Sept 1 (well some will fall for you drama but not all and the GOD be watching U). To all those People, who feels Penang PR Govt is not doing enough, let me tell you all something. It is either you all supporter of UMNO-BN or u just don’t get what you want from the Penang PR govt; thats y u people are crying now.
Let me tell something, who are the people who keep attacking current PR govt? Either they’re from MIC or HINDRAF. Or so called Socialist-minded people.
MIC is just not happy because, current PR govt doing extremely well, and getting almost 95% Indians support in Penang (Merdeka Centre Review). They’re worrying about their future with Malaysian Indians; they feel MIC cant survive if DAP keep up its momentum. Or perhaps, Samyvellu & Co just jellous. Previously, it was only him, who potrayed as great leaders of Malaysian Indians, as a sole Minister in Cabinet. But, PR gave oppurtinity to Indians to hold higher posts, such as Deputy Chief Minister, Senior EXCO status, and Speaker of State Assembly Post. Perhaps, Samy is just too jellous, coz no Indians respect him like they did in last 3 decades.
Coming back to this small group of people in the name of HINDRAF. 1st we look at this local HINDRAF people. This people, previously tried to get some post from PR govts. HINDRAF started as an Independent NGO, who’s fight is largely apolitical. But, after PR won the election they demanded for posts, some even were too arrogant, and claiming that PR owes them gratitude. Best example of this kind of charecteristic is that Thanendran (who [allegedly] staged Hospital drama during Bkt Selambau election; still remember him?)
And this so called apolitical NGO even submitted memorandum to (then) Perak Mentri Besar DS Nizar … demanding councillorships to the movements members. What kind of Apoliticality is this?
When PR govt doesn’t dance according to their tune, they’re complaining. ..a guy who claims frm HINDRAF, keep attacking Penang PR, coz previously demanded a post in Penang Hindu Endowment Board. He was (allegedly) attacking from those days, he failed to get the position. So, he’s having his high-time now, he is being supported by some people from outside.

1st of all, it’s not a racial issue, its a land issue.
secondly, how come this KBP people are so “intelligent” now, since they’re the one who saw “Trust Land swapped to become Temporary Occupation License”. Where was their “intelligence” when they accepted this; and kept paying their “TOL”. Why they didn’t oppose the “swap”??

Bukit Cina is a place where it was known as “HERITAGE” site, even before the issue came out.ut even UNESCO amused with the claim that KBP is HERITAGE. Whats the HERITAGE that living there. No Artific Structure or anything related to the history of Indians in the country. There no even an hindu-temple in this piece of land(there’s one recently (2008/2009) built-up). I just think that the villagers got what they ‘deserved’. They were promised UNESCO(Hindraff) and stoke of pen (BN) and now, they got nothing. They were asked not to accept the bangalow houses and wait for more millions.
I just find it funny that suddenly KBP can have cultural tournaments where first price is RM1000 for any games. And bus loads of people from universities come over to watch. sounds like the federal government ( education , Tourism ministry) is also using the villagers. Who is funding this PR stunt?

Nothing much can be done now. Just accept the crumbs. Let this be a wake up call… Learn to be smart. Stop living on charity. Be united for a good cause – to uplift the livelihood of all Indians in the country. Start a FUND and get the Indians to contribute. Then help the poor Indians. Make sure that no Indian in the country is poor, uneducated or without a place called home. Do this peacefully and NO VIOLENCE PLEASE. The Indians should stop bickering but be united for this cause. Yes, this is justice. Illegal settles cannot just claim the land just because they stay there for a long period. The rightful owner can do whatever they want of it is within the law. Law is about justice not welfare.
