400000 fill New York streets for ‘People’s Climate March’

Some 400000 people turned up yesterday in New York City for the People’s Climate March, the largest climate rally so far.

And this is a view from the ground:

The event was held ahead of the United Nations climate summit tomorrow. Similar marches were held in scores of cities around the world.

I am highlighting this as there is likely to be little coverage of this march in the corporate media over here.

That said, we should beware of any attempt of corporate cooptation of even the climate justice movement.

Was this held in KL? If so, why weren’t we informed? I heard that this is a global march and approximately 162 countries participated.

The above event can only happened in America, the police in Malaysia will not even allowed the very thought of having one held in Malaysia .
