Perak Speaker V Sivakumar has written to the Perak Sultan to request a postponement of the State Assembly proceedings scheduled for 7 May.
The letter was sent to the Istana Kinta office at 11.00am.
The request was being made because the position of the Menteri Besar is uncertain and still being decided by the courts, he said. Zambry’s and Nizar’s suits are being deliberated by the KL High Court.
Moreover, he was worrited there might be misunderstandings and confrontations that would be difficult to control. “In my opinion, both sides will be sharply criticising each other to defend their respective positions,” he said, in a posting on his blog today. “To preserve harmony and respect for the Dewan, I have applied to the Sultan to defer the proceedings for the time being.”

… Come on YB, in politics it’s normal to ‘bang’ each other with all sorts of ‘bullets’. You cannot be in politics if you cannot accept this kind of comments. Seasoned politicians are used to all the shellings they receive and they remain cool. They even smile under adverse situations. Unfortunately, the people of Perak are still for Nizar. This makes things worse. The Speaker wants a defferal to the Asembly. He is right. When nothing is obvious in the present situation, its better to have it postponed. There is bound to be ‘grabbings of seats’, verbal abuses, disturbances and many other unpleasantries being exchanged. Let’s wait for the Court ruling. Or, perhaps settle the problem by dissolving the Asembly. Let the rakyat make a decision. BN may get the mandate if the people are for BN government. PR then has to accept it, as it’s the people who have decided. The matter is then settled. To YB Zambry, be cool…

They say a forbidden fruit is tastier. That is why Zambery is clinging on to the MB’s post. He is the laughing stock of the world. There is not a tinge of embarrassment or shame in him for holding on to the MB’s post which is considered illegally and unlawfully obtained by him.

Sivakumar did the right thing. The BEST thing to do IN THE INTEREST OF PERAK and the people is to GO BACK TO THE PEOPLE and hold a fresh election… even Zambry said he wants to go back to the people, BUT TOO AFRAID to have election.
